I'm still not buying it. There's something we're missing. EVERY OPTION WE HAVE MADE along the way... every choice feeds into "Shepard's life sucks"? I understand not having an "Everybody lived happily ever after with no casualties" ending, but I just don't see how this could possibly be all there is. It flies directly in the face of everything Bioware has said and done in... well, ever. In any of their games, any of their franchises, any of their interviews. They have never shoehorned us like this.
We're missing something.

Well, you didn't say that you were happy because you liked the ending. You said you were happy because there was no alternate ending for people who might have wanted it. I've already quoted you, but I'll do it again: "No rainbows and puppydog ending? Count me in for 2 preorders now... I'm in" You're happy because there is no alternative and we're all being forced into the same ending, which happens to be one you enjoy. And I'm happy that there is an ending that you enjoy! Now, I want one that I will. (Not fair, actually, because despite a major disappointment with what happens to the crew [supposedly], I'm reasonably satisfied with this ending. Stopping a galactic extinction is quite a good ending. I remember how angry people got with FO3.. The idea of trading the life of a virtual character to save humanity was unthinkable... I really didn't get that.. You would think a courageous ending would be good... But apparently the idea of self sacrifice is lost.. If there were an invading army, their would clearly be a boxspring above such people and not a gun in their hand.. Is nothing worth dying for to you? Trading the lives of one crew TO SAVE THE ENTIRE GALAXY is an insult to you?? Do explain, because I'm truly not getting it. Is courage that lost on you? I am really and truely asking this.. I'm not attempting to be sarcastic, or sadistic. I want to know.
People could of disagreed with the ideas way back when people voiced them. This sounds a lot like what many people described and asked for.. People agreed with the ideas then. I didn't hear strong objections then? Look back at some of the things I posted way back after ME2.. This sounds like what I was talking about and people liked the ideas then.
So it's not rainbows and kittens.. Good. You trade your life for the galaxy. Is the galaxy to small?

Perhaps. I didn't read the leaks until a week ago (and they all seemed to insinuate that Shepard dies in every ending). I thought it was a tad trite, but decent. For the people who read them when they were first disseminated, it might have been the same. Now that the final endings have broken, though, they seem worse than feared; most people are angry about the contrivance with the Normandy and the horrible implications associated with it.Dave of Canada wrote...

Come on man, I've seen aliens of every sort on uTube claimed as real. Images of Jesus on everything from toast to clouds on UTube. And everything else in between - I don't use UTube as anything but humorous.
