So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Thats more or less what I wrote. I edited the quote since it was kinda long, it's a couple of pages back.
With the speed this thread is moving, by the time I have posted this, more like 20 pages
To totally change the subject: The pic of Frodo analogious to the ending is btw really, really good. It has helped me to explain my bitternes to a large crowd of friends who have never played ME, yet have seen LotR.

Can I get some opinions on this? Im currently arguing with a friend that goes to an art schoolBenirus wrote...
I just thought of a great metaphor for this whole thing to give the "this is art, so shut up" people a lesson.
Imagine that Mass Effect 1-3 is a painting... *snip*
What do people think? If you like it feel free to grab it.I want this to be my closing statement
I had one of those "there's someone wrong on the internet" things about this the other night in another thread. To me, if you absolutely HAVE to use the art metaphor (and I'm not really a fan of it because art is not completely interactive like a video game so it's not nearly the same) ... this is like the Sistine Chapel. (Bear with me here) Sure, just Michaelangelo's parts are fine and amazing. But the audience (this being the members of the clergy of the Catholic Church) asked for more from the Pope and the Church (the patrons/people paying for the artwork). So they did. They brought in Botticelli and other artists to add to it, making it into something that the audience was satisfied with.
Even today, the audience has asked for improvements and that led to the restoration process, new artists adding and recreating the original(s).
In this case the audience is asking for a more complete picture of EA/BioWare. If it's good enough for Michaelangelo's work, it should be good enough for Mass Effect.

Not sure what it really means, someone more knowledgable in PR should know better, but Mass Effect commercials are coming much higher than normal at the moment in Sweden. At least once every 15 minutes on a few of the big channels.Compared to the usual 3-4 times a day.
I was actually channel surfing today and an ME3 commercial came on. I looked at my husband, *facepalmed* and changed the channel before it was over lol Shame too since before the game came out I loved the commercials.

I would assume the indoctrination theory could be used, to where, after the 3 choices, you regain consciousness in front of the citadel beam. If you picked the red, you shake off any reaper suggestions and continue to fight, if you picked one of the other ones it skews your choices from here out to be more difficult to pick a "good" response, because of the reaper influence.
The battle is still raging and you spot your companions who, like you, were also knocked out by a close shot of Harbinger's beam (not directly hit). You all make the final push and get to the citadel's beam, where it transports you up. You wake up in the presidium, and it is all completely different from your "dream". You must fight your way up the tower, past the council chambers and on up to a new "control" room that was previously undiscovered. Upon activating the citadel to open, the citadel VI pops up and shows she gained control over the citadel thanks to your inputs. She explains what has unlocked and how the crucible works, thanks to her directly interfacing with it. It is a beam weapon that can instantly destroy a reaper, however it makes a massive explosion to do so.
Then you must take your army that you gathered into account, to lure the reapers away from Earth and other places of interest, possibly sacrificing some. Shepard stays on the citadel to control the beam. When the beam hits a reaper, a massive explosion ensues, and they have to be away from civilians to avoid collateral damage. At this point, your assets matter. You need to have enough fleets and soldiers to get the reapers attention and lure them away. Have enough resources and you will be successful, but too few and you end up sacrificing fleets and people, or not being able to get all the reapers away, causing massive damage to Earth and the people on it (because you absolutely must destroy every reaper to save the galaxy). The whole time, you are fighting the reaper influence if you picked the options from your dream, which would make it difficult to aim, or to even accidentally wipe out friendly ships.
Once everything is "taken care of", it would show a minor celebration, and all the major worlds cleaning up, rebuilding, and mourning (if you make the right choices, that is). You would get back to Anderson, who was injured during the fight and is now in a hospital, and have a long talk. Your final option is a paragon/renegade option. Do you keep the crucible since it is basically a weapon of mass destruction? Or do you destroy it to keep it out of the wrong peoples' hands in the future? It wraps up with what your squad ends up doing, and if you settle down with your LI and where.
I think that would have been great. Obviously it isn't going to happen, but thats what I would have wished for.

I'm ok with the trending #RetakeMassEffect but don't link it to @masseffect it would just be spam.
I thought so too. I only linked once, and it was to say the game was amazing, but the ending...and never again. I think once is fine, but not many times.

How's things? Anything new in the past 8 hours? I want to remind anyone who hasn't already to VOTE IN IGN'S POLL ABOUT THE END OF ME3.
Thankfully, I messaged the guy running the Facebook page yesterday and he's put it on the front page, if you take a look at the votes the number of people that are happy with the endings have now been completely dwarfed. Which is just beautiful. Flat out annihilation would be better, so VOTE!

I'd like to remind folk that sometimes we are going to get people who may attempt to disrupt this movement, but I ask that you treat their opinions with respect, opinions are neither correct or incorrect, they are "opinions", I'd also like to remind folk that it is against forum rules to call "anyone" a troll, no matter how badly they might act, if you have a problem with anyone, report them quietly using the report button or a pm to the moderators, do not engage them.Gi-Joe-Ge wrote...

I just watched the Game of Thrones trailer. I was afraid that Martin will drive his franchise into the wall the same way bioware did. Will I now be afraid that everything turns into an epic failure? Talking about an ending that lets you down.
Have you read all the books? I'm justing hoping he doesn't die before he finishes the series...seems to happen a lot with the Fantasy and Sci-Fi writters.
