Ok, so far it's been positive (except for the sound thing, but there isn't much I can do about that >.<)

Will wait for more opinions before making it public.

Wow. I am at awe. You are now... I don't know what to call you for being honest. That one got me as teary eyed as the Mass Effect 3.

It's sadly amusing how almost all of the little complaints (Tali's face, auto-dialogue, lack of exploration, etc) have been completely drowned out by the endings.

Don't get me wrong, I love the rest of ME3. It's just interesting that the endings eclipse almost any other flaw ME3 may or may not have.

I think it should though. To give the fight focus. The ending is what is most important right now. Later we can adress the other issues. Don't get me wrong, I don't think we should sweep them under the rug, cause there are some things that are really weird. Like the journal system. But right now I'm glad there is focus on the endings. :)

@masseffect ME3 was outstanding, but the ending is unacceptable. When will new content be made available to address this? #RetakeME3

Interesting reading through that scene direction log. This, for instance:

[biod_end002_600epilogue_loc_int.end004_finale_v_d.end004_finale_v_dlg]
1: We see a child, maybe they look a little bit asari, a little bit human. They are looking at the stars on a planet some 10,000 years after the events of the game.
2: There is an older male here as well, the child looks to the "grandfather" and asks...

At least we know when that is meant to happen....10,000 years...

For what it's worth, many of the commenters not onlgy disagree with him, but many of his points are rather faulty.
He's more than welcome to his opnion though, but as I said, his commentors are picking it apart.

The planned letter is going well. It will be HUGE. Five, possibly even six pages long.  All of it written with the best skill and all 142 of my IQ points I can pour into it It will be sent to all major players at Bioware, and all reviewers of major video games.

Good to hear that.
I really hope it gets publicity with conventional media as well, and maybe moves someone at Bioware and EA as well.

I need your help and everyone else's.  I have spent too long on this letter for it to be ignored.

Help me think of places I can send it.

Utah?  j/k but not just send it to BW but also send it to EA - and news -
Forbes - more interest we keep in this story; our story - their story
more the pressure EA will have - they are trying to hold out until
April.......

Every contact we use - we have - write to them; talk
with them - if they don't play games - explain it to them in ways they
will understand.

Heck I've explained to several people that are
huge fans of Twlight........used it in twlight terms - and they all
went..........wth???  We need to not sure turn this in our favor; but
also get publc in our favor also - Someone said - about continuing
writing letters to BW and sending in 3 crayons of red, blue and
green......or color pens -

That is actually a good idea its something that will STICK in
the minds of who we're trying to reach.- We have the the resources - we
have our voice - we are united.......We hold the line - we keep the
pressure on them....all the while slowly increasing the heat and pressure.

This will take time - this won't happen over night - but you can see the cracks already starting to form.  Whether or not this morning's Facebook and tweet was to test the waters or simple mistake - BW and EA realise just how serious their fans are.

Just tweeted my support (whilst giving an exam).

One of my students turned in their exam, saw my totally discrete N7 sticker on my laptop (which I use to, you know, tweet and browse this thread while giving exams) and warned "if you haven't finished the third game yet, don't get your hopes up." Upshot: I pointed him to the #RetakeME tweet onslaught. Downside: at least one student knows that when I type furiously with serious, squinted eyes, I'm probably not doing research. *sigh*

Teehee!
I'm sure I'd have lots of respect for my teachers if they played Mass Effect.
Even more if they were involved in RetakeME3.
But law school teachers don't seem to like anything but laws.
Kidding!

The community response has been amazing. I have read some very eloquent posts on both sides of the issue. Mine is likely to be very disjointed since I'm still trying to grok everything. I finished up ME3 last night and thought that I would add my voice to the argument. I was firmly in the 'how bad can it be?' camp right up until the last ten minutes. I wasn't angry and I wasn't sad. I was a little disappointed, but the biggest emotion that I felt was apathy. I had expected an epic and thrilling conclusion to the saga, but instead I got...that. I can understand Mr. Hudson's desire to craft an ending that's memorable, but for me it was anything but.

I'm a fan of dark endings (Red Dead Redemption has one of my favorite endings ever) and badly framed design choices aside - why would you introduce a canon shattering plot device in the last ten minutes of the game - ME3s ending wasn't what I would have liked. Shepard's death felt like generic sacrifice plot #21335. It felt empty. This is largely due to the fact that I didn't get to see the consequences of my decisions beyond, 'Hey, the reapers are dead/gone/bros now! Hurray!' which even on its own is overshadowed by the rest of the head scratching wtfness present in the rest of the ending cinematic. That's not to say that Shepard should live, but I would definitely have liked some context. As it stands, Shepard's story was closed out in an unsatisfying way, and the series lacks any meaningful conclusion. That may have been the intention given the possibility for DLC or future titles. If that is the case then bravo for alienating the fans.

Watching the PR game related to this issue has been mildly disturbing. I understand that this is Bioware's tale to tell. Brouhaha regarding the ending was circulating through the internet even before the game was released. I knew that there was the risk of disappointment, and even with the ending I am still glad that I bought the game. That being said, I have been invested in this series since ME's launch in 2007. Call it entitlement if you want, but I felt that I was owed an ending that was consistent with the quality of Bioware's other games, or even the other 98% of ME3.

If ending DLC does become a thing, I don't know if i'll partake of it. I seriously doubt that any addendum will be released free of charge, and that possibility paints my relationship with Bioware in an uncertain light. I'm not going to beat my chest and swear off Bioware games forever, but I will approach any future endeavors with a greater degree of caution. If these endings and the resulting PR platitudes (Defending your endings by implying that some people are overly invested is certainly a novel approach) represent the quality of what I can expect going forward, then it's time to start voting with my wallet. I just don't know if I can trust Bioware to lovingly craft a complete story anymore.

Regardless of my feelings of the subject, I support what you guys are doing here.

Hold the line.

We're glad to have your support. I know many people felt the same way when they first witnessed the endings. After how good the rest of ME3 is, the ending comes as an unexpected disappointment.

I agree completly. Especially the crucible trap is such an interesting idea. Pull through regardless... that would have been nice. AND CLOSURE god this idea for Tali's home. Why could we not get it?

Yes, and it's interesting how we were supposed to "speculate" on that as well. No answers unless you dig into the game itself, it seems.

If there is an increase, which it seems to be, it fits in well with standard damage control procedures.

I just read the reposts in this thread: http://social.biowar...ndex/10084349/1
They encouraged me even more to give a few Euros to the Retake Mass Effect Charity thingy. I will gladly donate my money to Childs play, not only for the children but to keep the pressure on Bioware up. I like them, I like their products, I really do. I played many many games they made and even Mass Effect 3 is a masterpiece. But the ending...sheesh. That was disturbing.

Unfortunately the Chip in page for Retake Mass Effect is unavailable right now.
