Kurt of the 301st Storming Mormons Reporting In.

The planned letter is going well. It will be HUGE. Five, possibly even six pages long.  All of it written with the best skill and all 142 of my IQ points I can pour into it It will be sent to all major players at Bioware, and all reviewers of major video games.

Good to hear that.
I really hope it gets publicity with conventional media as well, and maybe moves someone at Bioware and EA as well.

I need your help and everyone else's.  I have spent too long on this letter for it to be ignored.

Help me think of places I can send it.

Utah?  j/k but not just send it to BW but also send it to EA - and news -
Forbes - more interest we keep in this story; our story - their story
more the pressure EA will have - they are trying to hold out until
April.......

Every contact we use - we have - write to them; talk
with them - if they don't play games - explain it to them in ways they
will understand.

Heck I've explained to several people that are
huge fans of Twlight........used it in twlight terms - and they all
went..........wth???  We need to not sure turn this in our favor; but
also get publc in our favor also - Someone said - about continuing
writing letters to BW and sending in 3 crayons of red, blue and
green......or color pens -

That is actually a good idea its something that will STICK in
the minds of who we're trying to reach.- We have the the resources - we
have our voice - we are united.......We hold the line - we keep the
pressure on them....all the while slowly increasing the heat and pressure.

This will take time - this won't happen over night - but you can see the cracks already starting to form.  Whether or not this morning's Facebook and tweet was to test the waters or simple mistake - BW and EA realise just how serious their fans are.

HOLD THE LINE

In part of my dissertation to Bioware, I included and explained the exact reason behind the receptions of the ending by it's fans.  The vehement determination of tens of thousands of gamers to have it changed stems from the following, and  I go into more detail in the letter.   Here is an excerpt

(Please note, this is still in rough draft form and isn't perfect):

"The reason is heavily psychological.  This is a game where we feel as if we ARE the mind of the character we play. This powerful link is formed by the ability to make moral choices which reach to our very soul, be it dark in nature, good in nature, or a mixture of both!  It is an extension of ourselves, our morals, even our very BELIEFS.  Many medical journals have all said the same thing _(EDIT NOTE PLACE SOURCES HERE_). Video games and meditation are very closely linked, and if one stops to think, video games create a form of meditation where one is taken completely out of this world and placed in another.  Mass Effect succeeded to do this in such a massive scale that it has become part of the worlds of those who play it.

As a minor, (yet powerful and slightly embarassing), example, I am experiencing PHYSICAL attraction and PHYSICAL reactions to female characters in Mass Effect!  The brain is tricked into feeling as if it is a real and engaging experience, and it is so powerful as to even stimulate parts of the brain that release endorphins that create a sense of love for a character!  The same function and situation is present in other biological reactions, such as adrenaline release during fight scenes, rapid heartbeat in tense moments, and other such physical responses to a purely fictional game.

In simple terms:  It is a VERY real and vibrant world for those who play and enjoy this game!

_[EDIT NOTE PLACE MORE DETAIL HERE]_

The world of Mass Effect was so eloquently designed and implemented through story and psychological attachment that people can't come to terms with that entire world ending the way it did.  That world is INFINITE, and to have a FINITE number of endings which all seem to heavily contradict the persona of the vast majority of those who play the game is purely unacceptable! Thus, the reason for the outrage by all of those who are feeling as if the world just came crashing to an end!"

The above is a small snippet of what I am sending.  What do you all think?  Please critique.  Remember that this is only in rough draft form.  I have much more work to do.  Also remember that this is being sent to every powerhouse in the gaming industry that I feel will have an effect.  The current mailing address for the finished letter is over 30 places, organizations, and people.

Critique me.  I am open to suggestion!  The more minds, the better.

This is sickening. I have lost all drive to play games on any of my platforms right now. I pick up my PS3 controller and look at my 360 sorrowfully. I pick up my 360 and look at the Mass Effect 3 tin with despair. I load up Steam on this and I just can't bring myself to start up anything.
Hell, BioWare didn't just kill the franchise or their reputation for me, it feels like they actively struck a mortal blow against the games industry.

You need to hold on Xyalon, take heart this movement is still getting stronger, if you got favorite uplifting music, play it now, heck put the headphones on and blast your ears with it.

Thanks DJ. I'm listening to this right now. It's been played at least three times a day since this started. To me it is so apt.

I keep watching this video about the endings over and over.

#1 - He's got a good "radio" voice.

#2 - He's got the right idea all the way pretty much about how we feel and what BW should have done.

It's long at about 30 minutes, but I think it's worth it, so reposting for those who may have missed.

this is really great! i <3 it!!

that was very interesting and... sad lol, it was so easy to make something better than what we have

Okay, some of you are feeling down because you cannot bring yourselves to play any of your games, I've not played any for the last couple of days, but this thread has kept my spirits up, plus it helps to contribute in different ways, for example I try to help out with posting reminders and information.

Your games are still there and you will be back mashing the fire button soon, there's a lot of folk standing together for the same cause here, let them be your strength.

Also add " keeping us on the good way o/ "

And I would add i agree. I'm sure as soon as this situation will be resolve, one way or another, we will all feel better about playing. Just be patient, just be civil, just be focus, just hold the line.

I have mostly Bioware games installed on my pc. Without those I'll be left with only L. A. Noire, lol. And yeah, I don't want to neither play any of those games I have, nor buy a new one.

Never mind, then. I can't seem to get onto any ChipIn site, though, so this isn't specific to our charity. ChipIn is just having problems. They'll sort it.

Trying to work (or in my case, to do homework) isn't really working...supposed to be writing a research paper on declawing cats and here I am, on BSN.
Holding the line seems more important right now...Bioware should just give us a definite answer.

And another, I can't even play casual games like Donkey Kong or Mario :(.  I haven't even been able to watch tv or forms of media.  I think I am still in the mourning stages.

Also, still battling on facebook, this guy just doesn't GET IT.  <_<

Thank you.  I experience the same feeling of let-down and inability to even play videogames anymore.  Mass Effect 3's endings went FAR beyond just wrecking the series.  Mass Effect 3 was one of the very best, nay,  THE BEST
video game I have ever played until the endings.  The endings have ruined so much more than just the series, they have ruined all expectations for the future of videogaming! It wrecked video games for me as a whole just as it did in your own experience.

My will to play Mass effect is just shot
I have managed to go back to DAO...cause I cant stay mad at that.

At this point i'm pretty certain they will at least clarify and maybe flesh out the existing endings... but i dont intend to pay for a DLC without more choices
... being able to tell casper to go to hell would be a huge plus
