TotalBiscuit talks a bit about the ending in today's mailbox. He hates what Bioware is doing, but is more or less saying we had this comming :pinched: It starts at the second mail.

My personal Motivation-Music für Retake ME

I listen to Stand Strong Stand Together from the ME3 OST when browsing this thread. It's beautiful, and for me it epitomizes how dedicated fans come here, post suggestions, help organize the Retake Movement, share their sorrow and disappointment with the ending, but also share funny and uplifting links and messages. Hold the line, people. Together we'll make Shepard proud.

Yes! My poor Sims! What shall they ever do without my benevolent guidance!? Maybe I'll go back and they'll have created synthetics who kill organics so synthetics don't kill organics...

We are here for each other and our movement. None of us could ever do this alone; it is only through solidarity and singularity of purpose that we have been able to come this far.

Stand fast.
Stand strong.
Stand together.
Hold the line!

Wow that makes us 4, i haven't played in like 10 Days like anything, No movies no games, just talking with my Girlfriend and sitting in front of my Computer.
Oh and trying to work of course

Trying to work (or in my case, to do homework) isn't really working...supposed to be writing a research paper on declawing cats and here I am, on BSN.
Holding the line seems more important right now...Bioware should just give us a definite answer.

God i feel so sorry for you, at least in my case it is like 90% instinct, so i don't have to think that much on what i am doing.

This is sickening. I have lost all drive to play games on any of my platforms right now. I pick up my PS3 controller and look at my 360 sorrowfully. I pick up my 360 and look at the Mass Effect 3 tin with despair. I load up Steam on this and I just can't bring myself to start up anything.

Hell, BioWare didn't just kill the franchise or their reputation for me, it feels like they actively struck a mortal blow against the games industry.

Exactly how I feel. They killed the gamer in me.

Makes three of us...I can't even play The Sims!
The little EA icon makes me annoyed...

And another, I can't even play casual games like Donkey Kong or Mario :(.  I haven't even been able to watch tv or forms of media.  I think I am still in the mourning stages.

Also, still battling on facebook, this guy just doesn't GET IT.  <_<

This is definitely something new and fresh that I am happy to include in my letter to Bioware.  Seeing my own reaction mirrored in a similar way by several other people above confirms to me that this is a widespread reaction.

Will include! Excellent ideas!

At this point i'm pretty certain they will at least clarify and maybe flesh out the existing endings... but i dont intend to pay for a DLC without more choices

I have mostly Bioware games installed on my pc. Without those I'll be left with only L. A. Noire, lol. And yeah, I don't want to neither play any of those games I have, nor buy a new one.

I'm working my way through skyrim again in the meantime.

I was looking forward to playin Shadows of Amn on one of my old Rigs after ME3, just to see how far they've come and what they kept to make them great.

Now I'm just looking at the CD box.

As for Facebook - keep in there but remember to be civil. Need additional support?

The above is a small snippet of what I am sending.  What do you all think?  Please critique.  Remember that this is only in rough draft form.  I have much more work to do.  Also remember that this is being sent to every powerhouse in the gaming industry that I feel will have an effect.  The current mailing address for the finished letter is over 30 places, organizations, and people.

Critique me.  I am open to suggestion!  The more minds, the better.

I like the way you show exactly how important and engaging a game like ME can be to a person, although I'm not sure that line of arguing will convince the "it's just a game, grow up!" crowd. Then again, these are people who make a living because of the gaming industry. If they refuse to listen to a reasoned letter backed up by actual research, there's just no helping them.

I do think you're a bit heavy on the exclamation marks. I think that might make you sound a bit too passionate (not that there's anything wrong with that, but you know how some people will use that to discredit you).

Anyway, I'm interested in reading more and I'm very grateful that you're doing this. Will you keep us updated and/or post the final product?

I dont know that I ever WAS a gamer.. Certainly i've got twenty to thirty games i;ve collected over the past five years, ani own every console, but, does that make me a gamer?? I'm extremely puicky about my entertainment, and the only three games i've purchased in the past year were Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 and Zelda: twilight Princess ( as a result of needing something to fill the void lefty by ME3 ). I perhaps expected more of these as they to me are the very best of the very best, but i'm not sure that makes me a gamer..

Reposting, could I get some opinions on this?

Imagine that Mass Effect 1-3 is a painting. Now Bioware supplies the tools, the frame, the guidelines (the outliners of the painting f.ex the shape of a person face). Now they start an experiment where they charge people to fill in the painting. Colors, details, texture and the feelings of the painting. They promise the people participating that all their effort will impact the final outcome of the painting. This painting is an effort that spans 5 years where you pay 3 main charges to participate on different stages, or smaller charges for some extra detail (dlc).

Now just on the eve of completing the painting, literally minuttes away from completion, the artist that started the project kicks out the participants. Stating that you can't comprehend what he wants to do with it, that we don't know whats best for all the effort we put into it.

So he grabs the red, blue and green paint and paints 3 different crosses over the painting, scarring and in some cases wiping out all the effort of the participants.

That's the kind of project the Mass Effect series is.

In gaming we don't have the necessary laws and rules to protect us from something like this.

But if this happened elsewhere in the world, it would be considered a crime, a contract violation and people would sue the hell out of the artist responsible.

This is also filled with excellent points I can include in my letter.

Do I have permission to use some of the ieals and writing here in my letter?

(I feel it is important to ask first).

I feel a little empty inside, I don't want to play many games either. What's the point grinding battle by battle. Just to have a very bad ending. I'm afraid other games won't end well now... My fiancee is so sad at the ending of ME3 she doesn't know what to play, all she wants is more ME3.

Hate to state the obvious. But you could just play with each other. She is your fiance.

Definately more satisfying than another playthrough of ME3 and it releases these happy helpers called endorphins.

I'm listening Muse right now, and "Hysteria" lyrics kinda describe my feelings for last 10 days:
It's bugging me, grating me
And twisting me around
Yeah I'm endlessly caving in
And turning inside out

'cause I want it now
I want it now
Give me your heart and your soul
And I'm breaking out
I'm breaking out
Last chance to lose control

It's holding me, morphing me
And forcing me to strive
To be endlessly cold within
And dreaming I'm alive

'cause I want it now
I want it now
Give me your heart and your soul
And I'm not breaking down
I'm breaking out
Last chance to lose control

And I want you now
I want you now
I'll feel my heart implode
And I'm breaking out
Escaping now
Feeling my faith erode

Of course, I made this to point out the flaws of the "this is art don't mess with it" peoples arguments.

I think the people most likely involved behind a DOS attack are not likely to do that. Not to a charity based on games for kids.

Well, I was just thinking about some of the rage I've seen about our supposed evil intent to manipulate public opinion (and BioWare) by using a charity as a PR weapon. You're probably right, though.

Exclamation marks and overuse of passion is noted.  I did such on purpose in my writing of that particular area of the letter because I wanted to put emphasis on feeling.  I'll tone it back.

I'll keep you posted on the final product.  This will take me much longer than expected.  I continue to run across powerful "Points of persuasion", (as I call them), on the forums that are excellent ammunition to bring to the forefront of my letter.

This letter might even take me a day or two to perfect, BUT IT IS WORTH IT.
