I think the people most likely involved behind a DOS attack are not likely to do that. Not to a charity based on games for kids.

Well, I was just thinking about some of the rage I've seen about our supposed evil intent to manipulate public opinion (and BioWare) by using a charity as a PR weapon. You're probably right, though.

Yes, but hitting a charity with DOS would immediately destroy any moral highground they previously would have. DOS would more likely target the tumblr site.

Agreed. There I go being all paranoid n' stuff.

Just listened to it. Even though only one of them really wants actively what we want, they all agree that this was the worst ending ever.

hmm... dos attack was my first thought too. but i do think they're just doing some maintenance stuff at chipin..
and besides- a dos attack against tumblr is pretty much useless now that they updated they servers after the last attack. just saying. (would mean that there's quite a large group behind it et cetera..)

I am sad to say that I just beat Mass Effect 3. Upon reading several pages of posts and points to what happened I will not repeat what everyone said already. I will instead Bullet point some of my reasons I may be done with Bioware and EA.

-I felt sick to my stomach when I finished the game. None of my choices made any difference in the end. No reason for me to go back through the third game as well as the first or second one.

-We were promised that your choices would matter only to find out that all it did was give you a choice between a red, blue, and green option to destroy the galaxy (Blown up relays mean either obliterated systems or collapse of whats left of galactic civilization.)

-Alien Races that you recruited are royally screwed over in the sol system. Most are going to die Quarians (My Favorite Race) most likely go extinct no matter what which does actually make me sad since i took great care in helping them survive.

-Also like many people said already, The Krogan are going to end up eating everyone.

-I was looking forward to buying DLC, Hats, Shirts, Epic movies, All novels and other Random crap I could not live without. I would have been one of the most rabid fanboys out there fighting for Bioware and the masterpiece they could have produced. Now I Feel betrayed that this happened. I can only hope that something is done about the ending to reflect the choices that we made. Hundreds (nearly 600 In my case) of hours for nothing.

- I used to love watching the cinematic trailers for ME3. Now I find myself avoiding them with so many others.

-The Deus Ex Machina with Magic Space boy practicing space magic was horrible. If it was meant as a real ending then it was poorly written and filled with plot holes. (Assuming the Indoctrination theory is incorrect)

-Just to be clear I loved 99% of the game even the cheap Photoshop job for Tali's face I was able to forgive (Since now i knew what my LI looked like.)

-I have much respect for Bioware for trying to put out an epic game but I cannot get over the fumbling they did in the last 10 min.

- My suggestions to Bioware would be to do everything you can to make it right with your (Formerly) Fanatic followers. If you break even with a DLC patching the end it will bring the vast majority of us back and secure a lot more revenue from your core fan base. Hell we would be free, fan driven advertisement machines instead of walking and talking anti-Bioware mobs that most likely will plague every public event you guys throw for years to come.

From what I have been reading all we want ( What I want) is to see endings based on what we did. I wanted an ending where I can screw everything over. An ending where everything was fairies and pixie dust. Bittersweet. ect. As well as knowing what happened to your friends depending on your choices.

-Finally it would have been cool if you could have assigned specialists in the last mission, and it would have been super cool if we could have dictated how to use the war assets we acquired.
I Really, Really, Really Wanted to send the Volus Bombing fleet against something. Something funny about bowling ball shaped critters bombing the hell out of something. STRIKE!
And I would have loved to see Rachni Tear up a Reaper Capital ship.

- We fell in love with the RPG for what it gave us. And that was taken away from us in ME3

I'd say that's a spot on metaphore.

The ending has done what very few things can do, like ruin the replayabillity of Mass Effect's 1 and 2.

Mass Effect as a whole did what most games aspire to, it gives you a fully fleshed out universe with so much potential. So many likable characters, excellent character development, a story to die for, and unique interesting races.

You got to play through the eyes of a character that you shaped through your adventures and morale decisions. Sadly though all of this was yanked away and the galaxy of wonder destroyed within 10 minutes because of a lackluster ending that provides little insight on the reapers, gives no closure to you or your team mates, and worst of all leaves you with plot holes that could fill up a black hole and still keep going.

Whatever interest we had in the universe was shattered when we got this poor debauched excuse for an ending. Leaving us to wonder "Why? Why did they do this?"

Not only did the ending wrong ME3, it wronged the whole trilogy, the gamers, and the lore as a whole. No simple task for just a "bad ending." No this was far worse just just a bad ending. It was the utter destruction of a franchise we've come to know and love.

The worst crime they could commit which they did was taking away our "Choice."

Well put.

This "child" is such bad writing, and then taking away from Shepard what defines Shepard and instead meekly, without question (since it is denied us) takes these few words a the truth.  Both are really bad moves even in a book; introducing a new character "out of the blue" near the end that turns everything upside-down, and going against established an characters personality.  And in a game, built around our choices?  No, no, no.

I can still for my life not understand how they thought it was a good idea.

Jeez.  My letter will be huge, at this rate.

This was buzzing about my head last night, and it is my analogy as to what the ending was like.

Imagine your absolute favorite class subject. This subject fascinates you and you find it enjoyable to study the content of this class. You find that the teacher is able to make the class material even more engaging and exciting to experience.

So, the teacher announces the final test. The teacher tells you what to study and how it will affect your final grade. You are confident, but maybe somewhat nervous because you're not sure exactly what to expect. Still, you enjoy the material so studying isn't a hassle to you. You spend countless hours preparing for the final test, staying up into the late hours of the morning, discussing the material with fellow classmates, rereading the chapters multiple times.

You get to class and start your test. As you progress through it you notice how much fun you are having. You are nailing every question, enjoying the satisfaction you receive in completing the test. However, you get to the last page, and it is questions from an entirely different subject. You sit there confused, looking around at your fellow classmates to see if they got the same test as you. You notice how everyone else, one by one, straighten in their seat with the same look of confusion.

You look back to test and read the directions on the page. But all the directions say is, "Speculate what the answers could be. This isn't graded, but it will be." So you spend the rest of the class turning over these problems in your head, but ultimately you cannot come up with a definitive, solid answer because these questions have nothing to do with the material you have been learning up to this point. And the material you do know cannot fill in the blanks. You decide to just come up with the most appealing answer, and walk over to the teacher's desk to hand in your test.

At this point, the teacher reaches under their desk and pulls out three boxes: a green one, a blue one, and a red one. The teacher then says, "you cannot leave until you pick one of the boxes. Inside each box is a grade. This will be your grade for the entire school year." You stand there, defeated, knowing that up until today, you had a solid A in this class, and knowing that all the studying and hard work you put into this class means nothing. So, you pick a box, feeling this class had been entirely pointless.

I apologize for the wall, but just something I had to get off my chest.

This was what I wrote just hours after finishing the game. Possibly for article/video review dunno yet.

The biggest issue I had with the game and what many other seems to have is the ending, in the previous two Mass effect games, our choices held a lot of weight, impacting the story and making it a unique experience for each person who played it. However while in the major part of the game your decisions do come into play and effect how things play out during the story, I felt like all my hard work having put 6 playthroughs of both ME games getting everything just right was thrown out of the window in favor of a very shoddy deus Ex machina attempt. Leaving the fate of the galaxy up to a Space Reaper Child God Wizard death ghost giving you only three options at the end that had no specific impact on the ending unless you count the explosions being a different colour and slight differences that achieved the same end.

Leaving us with one of the biggest let downs for an ending with plot holes the size of the citadel. And to rub salt on the wound leaving us with it being a bed time story told by an old man who couldn't remember certain parts, but remembered the sexy times Sheppard had turning it into a let down that almost tops Kane and Lynch 2.
Mass Effect 3 was an amazing game, the first 40 hours or so you spend will live up to your expectations, shame it couldn't be said about the last 20 minutes of the game. With all the effort it took to make a lot of the game incredible where they dropped the ball was the ending. Had they given us better endings where our decisions came into play and an ability to question the aforementioned God Child it would've been a beyond stellar game.

But as it stands now, it will be known as the game that sent the amazing mass effect trilogy out with a whimper instead of a massive roar.
