I want to hold the line guys, but it's starting to sink in. All those years, I've spent so much time loving the Mass Effect universe, so many hours playing and discussing with my friends. This was one of the defining trilogies of my teenage years.

I just feel sick.

For those of you who are sick to death of seeing wave of negative press, trolls and flamers misrepresenting us, I have written an open letter to these people.

Feel free to link it, use part of all of it in your responses to them if you cannot think of anything uncivil at the time. Or, feel free just to read it so that you can reaffirm and justify yourself that you are not the unreasonable spolit brats that they make us out to be.

Great letter. Really gets across our position.

Though instead of saying "larger variety of choice for Shepard or at least some sort of closure for his crew." I would've gone with "larger variety of choice for Shepard and at least some sort of closure for his crew.". But those weren't the main focus of the article and just me being nitpicky about my side.

Oh my goodness, the campaign to chance the ending has even turned up in the main newspaper here (Victoria, Australia).
I was not expecting that  I feel a little like a revolutionary now ;)

I'd say that most in this thread have put in as many hours of Mass Effect, that's what we are drawing strength from, just try to keep in mind that the only real issue is the ending to ME3, I'm sure that you like us you really enjoyed it all from ME1 to ME3 until that point.

Hold the line.

That is amazing news. IF BBC covers the story, this would put a tremendous amount of pressure on Bioware / EA. Exactly what we need to get our demands through.

Its a nice read Xyalon but in all honesty the press who are being outright negative wont take any notice. They know why we are really upset, they just don't care(or care about their pockets more). They have their agenda set and I dont see them ever changing tone. Especially IGN. Never gonna win them over unless EA says so hah.

Just to say aswell, they dont bother me one bit. I'v never been a fan of the gaming press, never will be.

It was more to people who either blog, or seem reasonable enough to form an educated opinion if only they were given more accurate information. I have already sent one to the leader of a specific group purely to try to ensure there is no misrepresentation of us there as we would not really do the same to them.

It's not going to sway everyone, I know this, but it's for those people who are as I said, like-minded and love the series as much as us. It would also make a good response sent to online newspapers/journals which may have received their information from the Gaming Press rather than ourselves directly. I know I will probably do so.

Pretty awesome that we are known worldwide. We should really contact Japanese forums and others that don't speak english as their first language. Get them to vote on our polls etc.

I think we all know how you feel. Just don't give up. We have to face the fact, that there will not be a solution very soon. But we can't back down now, cause that is what the PR of EA/Bioware wants us to do.

Please Hold the Line (even if its hard but the right things are always hard to achieve)

I agree that 98% of the game was great, and that the last 15 minutes is like driving a beautiful sports car off of a cliff. The combat is truly entertaining and it's very exciting and not horrible or sucky except for the embarrassing and shocking copout by the writers at the end. I wonder how many of us are going to have a huge amount of saved games that we play to those last 15 minutes and then just stop and start over again.

I know that feel! I feel sick too!

And i love Mass effect so much that i just want to play. Especially the Rannoch mission(Tali <3) that was my ME3 fave part. But i want to hold the line and dont want to show off as a 1 in their statistic... i hope that doesnt sounds rude or kind of wrong :(

If a kid hands in sub-par work at school, any half-decent teacher would ask why, give feedback and maybe try to help get them back on track. They wouldn't just shrug it off and say nothing for fear of hurting their feelings.

And I agree, all I'm saying is that they need a little time to get over the initial sting of the feedback, I'm not talking about a company here, i'm talking about each individual that was involved in the development of this game, they are basically watching their efforts go down the pan at the moment, this is why I'm glad when folk post that 98% of the game was awsome, a half decent teacher also gives encouragment.

I'm talking about the individuals too. I say BioWare but I mean every single person in the team who helped develop this series.

And yes, I'm glad that we are constructive with our feedback and not totally destructive.

my last post before i'm off to bed, totally agree.....most of the game(s) were outstanding....story telling, game play, it drew you in, made you care....even most bugs were easy to overlook as they didn't really detract from the overall experience....nothing in the series did until the last ten minutes of ME3.....

so while i challenge all of us to hold the line, i challenge the folks responsible to do YOURSELVES justice......

if this is to be the end, then it should be such and end worthy of being talked about for a long time.....and for the right reason, beacuse it was EPIC!

hold the line!

I was considering writing a letter to BioWare that started out as a litany of gushing, heart-warming praise, only to abruptly and unexplainably devolve into nonsense or something else that disregarded the feeling of the rest of the letter. Leaving room for lots of speculation, naturally.

Alas, I am not that clever and too wimpy to be a troll. :D So I'll stick with concise and polite.
