I want to hold the line guys, but it's starting to sink in. All those years, I've spent so much time loving the Mass Effect universe, so many hours playing and discussing with my friends. This was one of the defining trilogies of my teenage years.

I just feel sick.

*hands you a bag* let it out - then realise - what we're doing here; right now.....Is important.  Years from now they will talk about this - revolution.  Hold the Line will either become greatest line for hope - against corp greed or just become known as another failed attempt.  They will say well they had a chance to make a difference but gave up.

I look at my 5 year - I know why I'm doing this.  I want him when he gets a bit older to play these games with me - to see why these games are so good - to share those moments of joy, shouting "HELL YEA!" at the monitor; to the tears of sadness.

These works are not just their works - but all of ours - because of the way they were created; interactive - we create an unique story..

I know BW and EA care about their work - it shows - but promises were made; and broken.  Know this; we've also made a promise - We won't break them - Please give this game the ending it deserves.  Please keep us as fans; because that's what we want.

We don't want to cut the ties with BW/EA - as I've said; I've played every BW game - there is some DLC I haven't bought; but want to.  I am subbed to TOR - EA got Syndicate; Kingdoms of An - I WANT THOSE GAMES - but I will not part with another dollar/cent/pound  to BW/EA until this is resolved.

Fix/Expand  the ending - and you will have a customer possibly for life - because you will have shown BW is the studio that truely listens and cares what their customers are say.

HOLD THE LINE.

well said <3+10:D

What's this about a statement on Wednesday?

I seem to be the only one that picked up on it :P

Basically after this mornings fiasco with the fb message being taken down, Jess responded and within that response said that a statement would be released on Wednesday

I think you might be mistaken.  The only place I've seen reference to anything being done on Wednesday is in this thread.

Is this the post of Jessica's you're referring to?  It's the only one I was aware of, but it's so easy to miss stuff as fast as these threads are moving.  social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/355/index/10222868/25#10226997

It wasn't that no, i apologise if i was wrong but someone a couple of hundred pages ago quoted something from Jess that definately included a statement on Wednesday, did she say anything over Twitter or fb? either that, the person added it into the quote themself ..... Or i'm off my rocker

I haven't been following DA2 either.  With everything going on, this announcement is peculiar to say the least.  It could be a cooincidence, but could BioWare be assessing resource allocations/priorities at the moment?  Again, with the lustre on their brand losing it's shine daily, all I can say is Hmmmmm.

I posted an article about this too many pages ago, and I don't think it was a coincidence. I mean, no one has mentioned anything about DA2 since a different ME3 trailer/video started popping online almost every other day. They were clearly making sure that nothing would take away attention from ME3, but now...well, they kind of want that attention focused somewhere else (or so I think)

I know how you feel... and I'm in my 30s lol
Keep your chin up though, this fight is far from over and when they bring out a fix, it'll be worth it. Positive thinking! B)

Hold the line!

Heck, I'm 41, have been gaming 30 years now and feel much the same.

I'm just so sad. If this were a different reality where ME3 ended appropriately, tonight would be completely different. I would come home from a hard day back at work and reward myself with another play through of my favorite series. Maybe I'd try the adept or the vanguard class? Maybe I'd have fun playing the MP where I'd meet great new friends and discuss what we loved most about the game or how my ending was different from theirs.

But alas...it's a stormy night and all I can do is sit with my IPad, drink a glass of wine, and watch some rerun seasons of Big Bang Theory.

Just how different this night could have been...

we feel with you. we really do. most of us didn't feel any different after the ending.
so i ask you to hold the line with us. let's work together, to get mass effect 3 the ending it deserved, to answer the remaining questions, to fill the plotholes and get our shepard the future he always wanted.
be it little asari children, an adopted krogran war orphan, a simple house on rannoch or something else.

so i ask of you, will you submit to bioware/ea or will you hold this line?
(if yes to holding the line, the austrian infiltatros offer you a warm cup of coffee or cold, austrian beer.)

Most likely it wasn't that far along.  They wouldn't have put a ton of dev time into it (aka money) and just cancelled it.  Though it does bring up the good point that this is now affecting other IPs.  I know, personally, I haven't touched an EA game all week, and don't plan to until I see movement.  I've "cancelled" my preorders for a whack of EA games, as far out as Simcity 5 now.... which is saying something because A) I love games, B) I love Simcity, and C) I've never actually boycotted ANYTHING... much less games... :P

I can only imagine if I'm doing it a lot more people are too.  I'm suspecting the accountants are hopefully starting to realize this is costing more in hard numbers than it would just to say "Yup we're going to fix it, sorry" and then recover back to near normal levels.

I don't know about the rest of you, but the ONE argument I see the other side using a lot is "ME3 sold 1 million copies blah blah blah... 55,000 of you said you want new endings, what about the other 945,000 people?"

Like that same goddamn argument doesn't apply to their side as well. That logic is so STUPID it literally makes me want to punch my monitor.

Just LOOK at the statistics everywhere! Of the people who voice their opinion, the number of people wanting new endings is A LANDSLIDE against those who don't! And if there are really that many people out there who want to have sex with these endings and make fugly ending babies with them, get their asses online and start speaking up. I'm sure that if there were as many people who opposed us as they (incorrectly) claim, we'd be respectful enough to back down and take the hit. That one facebook page has a "whopping" 165 members the last time I looked. I'm sorry, but 165 people versus the 50,000 or so we have on OUR facebook page is a pretty one-sided fight.

If you're going to try to use numbers and logic to tell us we're wrong, do it in a way that actually makes more sense than the Godchild's "I made synthetics to kill organics so synthetics don't kill organics" crap.

Yes, I am raging like a pissed off bull right now. Put one of those pretentious jerks calling us whiney crybabies in front of me right now, I dare you.

Edit: enraged grammar error.

I just looked it up because I wasnt sure. DA2 was released a year ago. I can't believe it. It feels like it's been 2 or 3 years since Dragon Age 2 disappointed me. After the ending I burried the game. I havent played any of the DLCs, nor have I followed anything else regarding DA2. I played Awakening when it hit stores. I didn't like it. I probably would have assumed the same for the DA2 expansion.

Yeah, got so fed up with Bioware/EA that I cancelled my ToR subscription today.

They won't get another cent out of me until I see solid proof that we are getting an ending.

sent my email to bioware today.
I presented myself as a loyal customer who was simply concerned with the way the franchise had ended, and why me along with everyone else who is a part of 'retake me3' are doing what we're doing. I included the exact word for word main bullet point objectives of the campaign as well.

I ended it on a hopeful note, saying that i believed in them making a good conclusion to the series we all know and love, and that i still believe even now that they still can. i tried to appeal to their human side :) hope it was good enough to at least get a read from someone at bioware and to be noted.

Holding the line, as always

Nice ^_^
I just told them why their endings suck from the standpoint of a seasoned dungeon master/storyteller. Writing this gave me finally much desired inner peace. The unrest is gone. I hope someone reads it and gets the message.

I should go.

See ya all tomorrow.

While there has been a lot of pessimism about whether or not
Bio-Ware is listening, just consider how much has been accomplished just in the
last 24 hours!

From their backtracking on the ending issue, to the plethora of news stories,
to the significant price drop of the game; it seems like pretty soon the
pressure will begin to come down on the team.

Mr. Hudson will face the realization, (I'm sure he already has) that his
silence on the issue only serves to motivate players further, and damage the
company. I'm sure that logistically it's hard to promise such a commitment as
ending DLC so quickly especially if it wasn’t planned, but the quicker we have
our answer, the quicker we can stem the tide of this movement towards support
for the game.

At the end of the day, I'd hate to see what is possibly the greatest video game
saga ever made hated by the very fans it inspired. I feel like if they release
a new ending DLC, and do us right by it, we can celebrate the game and
encourage people to buy. In fact, that should be a strong message;

"Bio-Ware, turn 50,000 dissatisfied fans into happy customers!"

Here's hoping! ;)

I didn't like Awakening either, but I was fine with DA2. And the Legacy DLC was better than the Mark of Assassin one. I mean, it was okay.
Thing is, I am way more dissapointed with ME3 ending than any DA game. DA2 was ok throughout the whole thing; ME3 was amazing 99%of it.

While I don't agree with what they did with the ending, is anyone surprised they want to cling to whatever positive reviews they can find?
