So we can't get the ending we want after all?

I want to hold the line guys, but it's starting to sink in. All those years, I've spent so much time loving the Mass Effect universe, so many hours playing and discussing with my friends. This was one of the defining trilogies of my teenage years.
I just feel sick.
*hands you a bag* let it out - then realise - what we're doing here; right now.....Is important. Years from now they will talk about this - revolution. Hold the Line will either become greatest line for hope - against corp greed or just become known as another failed attempt. They will say well they had a chance to make a difference but gave up.
I look at my 5 year - I know why I'm doing this. I want him when he gets a bit older to play these games with me - to see why these games are so good - to share those moments of joy, shouting "HELL YEA!" at the monitor; to the tears of sadness.
These works are not just their works - but all of ours - because of the way they were created; interactive - we create an unique story..
I know BW and EA care about their work - it shows - but promises were made; and broken. Know this; we've also made a promise - We won't break them - Please give this game the ending it deserves. Please keep us as fans; because that's what we want.
We don't want to cut the ties with BW/EA - as I've said; I've played every BW game - there is some DLC I haven't bought; but want to. I am subbed to TOR - EA got Syndicate; Kingdoms of An - I WANT THOSE GAMES - but I will not part with another dollar/cent/pound to BW/EA until this is resolved.
Fix/Expand the ending - and you will have a customer possibly for life - because you will have shown BW is the studio that truely listens and cares what their customers are say.
HOLD THE LINE.
well said <3+10:D

When I purchased the game on the 6th I was so excited to continue my epic journey for my character and experience all that had carried over from my saves in ME1 and ME2. I did experience some of this and saw Wrex and others. This excitement was cut short by limited dialog interaction and investigation into deep conversation and dialog that I enjoyed in the first two games. After a good conversation instead of a dialog option prompt I was introduced to the "Commander" response with no way to ask questions or investigate and get to know my members more. This really caused me to loose a little immersion into my game. While the dialog that is there is wonderful I really miss the amount that was in the first two games.
The catalyst seemed to absolutely confuse me in every way. I couldn't understand why the child from the beginning of the game that died was now an astral apparition in front of me saying he was the creator of the Reapers. I gave it a chance and thought 'hey I'll see where this goes' , but my encounter was cut short by limited dialog options and an arbitrary psychopath child telling me to choose to kill civilization and destroy all possible communication with galactic life throughout the univers via destroying the relay's. Why was I not given the chance to resist or choose to not do either? Why in a game of choice was I given one that I would never choose? Why was I not able to choose an ending that would have given me an option to destroy the Reapers and save the galaxy? I would have been fine to die a martyr if I could have had some closure in my experience.
I feel let down and deprived the closure to my story with an ending that left me with more questions and no replay value whatsoever. I went outside after I saw this and had a cigarrette thinking to myself that this can't be it. I checked the forums and saw this outrage over the same things I have been feeling and asking myself. I just wanted to voice my opinion and share my feelings of dissappointment in the company that I held in high regard with a beloved series that I have elevated above Star Wars. Please Bioware, for your fans, change the ending and give us one that reflects our choices, paragon or renegade experience, and love interest from our journey.

Priestly retweeted another "ending is perfect, fans are stupid" article.
Anyone else notice a shift in Bioware's tone over the past 24 hours? This retweet is just the latest example. :-(
They're probably being all smug about their success in the N7 multiplayer weekend.
My only question is how succesful was it actually? So far they've only told us the number of brutes killed, which was about 3 million, I believe? IIRC several waves of brutes typically four or so at a time come in the last four rounds or so. So let's say sixteen per match.
Let's presume that about half of those brutes are ever encoutnered on the average silver match - that is, people only ever get to round 8.
This means about 281,250 matches were played, as a rough estimate.
The N7 weekend was worldwide, and was distributed over 62 hours. Now I can tell you from looking over gameplay charts on Steam that games aren't evenly distributed over time, they come in waves. But for the sake of keeping this simple, let's distribute these numbers over 62 hours even. This means about 4,536.29032 games were played every hour. Let's round that down to make it a nice, even number.
4,536 games every hour. With four players per game, means18,144 players at any given time.
You know that most players during this were probably getting in one to four hours per play session (at least enough time for three+ games). Worst case scenario this means that 435 456 unique players were playing per day. Best case (for us) this means 108,864 unique players per day.
This is why BW isn't going to release the actual player numbers. It's far less than a tenth of the total number of people, worldwide, who've bought their game, participating in their first weekend event.

Reports say they're selling the game for $40 at the moment, that's ludicrous for the second week of a game as big as this, clearly we're having an effect, just be patient.
I know, I know. It really is inspiring to see all you guys on here holding the line, fighting the good fight. But I booked a week off work to make sure I had the time to enjoy this game as much as possible. I manged 1 and a half play throughs before I simply couldn't continue. They broke my favourite series...
Oh well, either Bioware will listen to the people valiantly holding the line and all will be fixed, or they don't and will be left to wonder where it all went wrong.
Hold the line. Honor demands it.

About the 900k people not checking in, its simple, not a whole lot of players actually use these forums, i wasnt here for me2 for instance, or me1/da/da2 because i didnt feel the need to speak my thoughts, i was happy, even da2 was yeah.. meh, i could live with the whole thing, but with me3, it just pushed me over the edge and beyond that i needed to be heard, so i just looked and hey, they actually have a forum about all this, lets get involved i thought... have been holding the line for weeks now, barely getting any sleep.
Also a friend of mine that just finished the game wouldnt have guessed there was a forum for this either, im sure theres alot more of those...
And on that, that friend didnt find the ending that bad untill i explained all the flaws, so spread the word why its flawed!

People like I said. GET ONLINE talk to your facebook friends, your PSN friends, your Xbox live friends. Everybody that flat out hated the game and Get them on board on the polls, the suggestion forums, on twitter, hell do anything you can possibly think of just to get the message across to the Bioware and EA CEO's

Stuff like this and the retracted facebook thing from earlier is really making things suck for me right now. I am getting the vibe that BW doesn't really give a flying monkey what we think and are very much messing with us. The ending left me disapointed, it is becoming difficult to fight the slow decline into bitterness.
Edit: Bah, above is a quote. Grr ipad posts
Hang in there! We are starting to get more mainstream press with fair coverage. EA will feel the 33% drop in price of new copies of the game. They want us to step off the line and make this all go away, hence their silence. Don't play into their hand! I plan to be a thorn in their side for as long as it takes! Hold the line!

pretty much the same here. the only person that was as excited for me3 as me is my favorite barkeeper at some metal pub. but after we got drunk and started yelling fus ro dah and random mass effect quotes.. let's just say we didn't make a lot of friends that night.
and yes, pretty much did the same. to everyone that would actually listen.

They won't get another cent out of me until I see solid proof that we are getting an ending.
You are not alone. I did the same, and many others have as well. Nothing more to Bioware until this is fixed.
I just feel bad for those who simply like TOR and find their friends/guildies leaving over ME. But, there will always be bystanders who will suffer during conflict, and it's certainly your money to use for whatever end and by whatever means to achieve it.
Just call it respect for fellow gamers, despite prevailing logic.

How about a full-scale motto:

We reject that absurd ending, which insults (injures, does injustice to) customers.
If anyone thinks of a good motto, I can try to translate it into Latin. (Though someone would need to check whether I've said anything silly)

I'm convinced Bioware took the idea to the ending of the game from this thread...on purpose.
