Noob question; how do you integrate the fleet banners into a signature? I know where they are, just can't seem to find the damn signature editing options.

you can just copy and paste; or: use the url to said fleet banner and insert it between [*img]URLHERE[/img*] withouth the asterisk sign and replace 'URLHERE' with the actual link to the banner.

Not to sound cynical but how do we really know that 3 million Brutes were actually killed and Bioware didn't just make up this number.

Considering I'm pretty sure I killed about 30 myself in one night of play last Tuesdayish that's not saying much lol.

Non amo finis tristis.

Some scholarly type want to check that one? =D

How about a full-scale motto:

Repudiamus finem illum absurdum, emptoribusque iniuriam inferendum.

We reject that absurd ending, which insults (injures, does injustice to) customers.

If anyone thinks of a good motto, I can try to translate it into Latin. (Though someone would need to check whether I've said anything silly)

and yeah, I need a scholarly type to check mine too....

I think caveat emptor works nicely, buyer beware

This. I'd be perfectly fine with Shepard dying if it made sense and it actually meant something. The current ending feels like a slap to the face compared to the rest of the game, which is excellent.

Hmm...I wouldn't exactly say I would be fine with Shepard dying, but if it made sense, I could take it.
Thing is, I believe we should be able to choose if our main character dies or not (kind of like in ME2, and DA:O), because having one single ending ruins the whole "you get to decide what happens to you, and you build your own story" part of the game...

I have just finished Mass Effect 3 today. Despite knowing of the ending I wanted to see for myself and finish my Shep's journey, however I was left with disappointment in my mouth.

When I purchased the game on the 6th I was so excited to continue my epic journey for my character and experience all that had carried over from my saves in ME1 and ME2. I did experience some of this and saw Wrex and others. This excitement was cut short by limited dialog interaction and investigation into deep conversation and dialog that I enjoyed in the first two games. After a good conversation instead of a dialog option prompt I was introduced to the "Commander" response with no way to ask questions or investigate and get to know my members more. This really caused me to loose a little immersion into my game. While the dialog that is there is wonderful I really miss the amount that was in the first two games.

The catalyst seemed to absolutely confuse me in every way. I couldn't understand why the child from the beginning of the game that died was now an astral apparition in front of me saying he was the creator of the Reapers. I gave it a chance and thought 'hey I'll see where this goes' , but my encounter was cut short by limited dialog options and an arbitrary psychopath child telling me to choose to kill civilization and destroy all possible communication with galactic life throughout the univers via destroying the relay's. Why was I not given the chance to resist or choose to not do either? Why in a game of choice was I given  one that I would never choose? Why was I not able to choose an ending that would have given me an option to destroy the Reapers and save the galaxy? I would have been fine to die a martyr if I could have had some closure in my experience.

I feel let down and deprived the closure to my story with an ending that left me with more questions and no replay value whatsoever. I went outside after I saw this and had a cigarrette thinking to myself that this can't be it. I checked the forums and saw this outrage over the same things I have been feeling and asking myself. I just wanted to voice my opinion and share my feelings of dissappointment in the company that I held in high regard with a beloved series that I have elevated above Star Wars. Please Bioware, for your fans, change the ending and give us one that reflects our choices, paragon or renegade experience, and love interest from our journey.

Welcome. Glad to have you with us and next to us. Come inside and have a cup of tea, most of us feel the same way you do. You are in good company.

Thank you very much and as everyone else is doing I will hold the line as well and hope for a more conclusive ending that isn't vague and shadowed like I am talking to the Architecht in Matrix 2.

Hey guys! Was away for a few days but I'm back and holding the line.

I've been trying to keep up via iPhone and I just want to say that I'm glad that everyone is being civil and holding the line. The whole FTC thing has been a minor speed bump and we just need to get past it.

I'm also glad to see that the Chip In website is back online so people can continue to donate!

Hold the line!

Someone please answer Chris with the tweet that the game isn't over until Bioware stops making DLC for Mass Effect 3 and I highly doubt that Bioware will not make any DLC for the game, unless of course Bioware is going to stop making DLCs.

So, fwiw, I e-mailed Drew Karpyshyn. He didn't work on this game, but I'm sure he knows the developers of ME3. Hopefully he replies and gives some answers on whether or not the ending was just bad work by the team. I was as fair as possible and emphasized my prior approval of the series, so a response would be great.

In regards to the charity, lets not even joke or hint bioware had anything to do with it, the media would jump on it faster than carrion on a dead corpse, and I'll give you one guess who will bore the brunt of it.

I'm going to repost this because I think it's important we take a step back and look at this rationally.

ArmyKnifeX wrote...

My only question is how succesful was Operation Golaith? So far they've only told us the number of brutes killed, which was about 3 million, I believe? IIRC several waves of brutes typically four or so at a time come in the last four rounds or so. So let's say sixteen per match.

Let's presume that about half of those brutes are ever encoutnered on the average silver match - that is, people only ever get to round 8.

This means about 281,250  matches were played, as a rough estimate.

The N7 weekend was worldwide, and was distributed over 62 hours. Now I can tell you from looking over gameplay charts on Steam that games aren't evenly distributed over time, they come in waves. But for the sake of keeping this simple, let's distribute these numbers over 62 hours even. This means about 4,536.29032  games were played every hour. Let's round that down to make it a nice, even number.

4,536 games every hour. With four players per game, means18,144  players at any given time.

You know that most players during this were probably getting in one to four hours per play session (at least enough time for three+ games). Worst case scenario this means that 435 456  unique players were playing per day. Best case (for us) this means 108,864 unique players per day.

This is why BW isn't going to release the actual player numbers. It's far less than a tenth of the total number of people, worldwide, who've bought their game, participating in their first weekend event.

Guys we really need to get this metaphorical monkey off our back. You know, the one that keeps telling us were just sad cause the trilogy is over.

GODDAMMIT IM FINE WITH IT. Everything ends. Overall We just want something THAT MAKES SENSE. You wouldnt have this much rage if it made sense. Even if there was still a lack of closure and other lackings.

Yes. I was actually excited for the end. Sad for this to be Commander Shepard's last game, yes, but excited to finally get to take the Reapers down.

In the end though, beating them the way we did just felt hollow and empty. I felt no sense of acomplishment what-so-ever...

With all due respect to those who say we are sad because of the ending, but I ask, Are they stupid or what???

This trilogy was supposed and meant to have a really high reaplayability value. Even considering this to be the last game, we would be playing it and replaying it for years to come.

But those journalists, those so called experts have to keep hitting the same old key saying we are disgrunted either because we had "no happy ending" or we are just sad because the trilogy is over. Instead of pulling comments like this from their hats (rather say hat that what I actually have in mind) whyt don't they take the time to read we we have to say. I still think this is just another way of Bioware/EA trying to discredit us. They keep trolling us, posting evil tweets only to have them deleted later, and some of them are actually offensive to the player base.

I wonder if anyone working for them have any idea what Public Relations really mean. They don't want our feedback, they don't want to liste, they want us to submit. And I refuse to do so.

Our numbers are growing each day, and each day they have more customers to deal with. It feels like we are in a pan, and it's boiling more and more. Either they let it cool off by doing what we ask of the, or it will explode. And that won't be a beautiful site..

/Salute

I have no problems with it being over. I have problems with my choices not meaning anything, the lack of endings for everyone (happy to sad) and the fact that war assets just become numbers instead of, you know, actually having a realistic effect. And the plot holes. And Shep being out of character.

In DA:O, I had choices. I didn't want to die and leave Leliana alone and I didn't want to kill off my buddy, so I talked Alistair into knocking Morgan up. On another character, I sacrificed Loghain. Either way, I had options for a fairly happy ending-- and that's for a "Dark Fantasy" game. Mass Effect is a heroic space opera and I didn't even have near the same option. Brent Knowles new what he was doing with DA:O and the ME team could take some lessons from him. They went so far to please all fans by trying to get the best of both FPS and RPG and even added multiplayer. I just can't understand why they wouldn't try and do the same for the endings.

Tali's face, the ending, the cutscene with grandpa and little kid....It all indicates that Bioware was running out of time or something and decided to rush it.
Now, why? Were they too busy making Kinetic and multiplayer to focus on the real thing, which is the single player story? Or did they just rushed it?

Ask Chris that since the article suggests that the game is ending and fans just can't deal with grief. Does that mean that Bioware has no plans to release any future DLCs of any kind? If they plan to release a DLC, then the game is not ending.

I don't want to be a d*ck, but I had spent some time on his website a while back, and his comments on 'fanmail' weren't encouraging at all. :(

We've had a former BioWare designer comment on ME3, which amounted more or less to: "you were supposed to make a computer game, folks, you failed; that ending doesn't work as the ending of a game". But that guy, to my knowledge, had quit quite some time ago. Karpyshyn probably wouldn't 'burn the bridges' as easily.
