I hope it does.  Money is the only thing that motivates EA.  Period.  And since EA pulls some powerful strings at BioWare, they could overrule a hypothetical decision by BioWare to not fix the ending.

I'm sure they are looking at this, and going: "Who the hell are you to feel PROUD OF something you haven't created?"

And they would be right. I really can't make sense of that line.

We may be proud of ourselves as fans, or whatever, but to be 'proud of' the game itself.....come on....

Like many people, I initially expected to send a brief email to bioware, but ended up typing quite a bit.
Sorry for the wall of text, but thought it would be fitting to share my personal opinions.
the email I sent reads:

Hello,
I would like to say that before getting to the end of Mass Effect 3, it was truly an amazing game. I may have even given it a 10/10 rating... if it were not for the ending.
Bioware has successfully created a true masterpiece of a series within the Mass Effect storyline, so why would you end this great trilogy with such a terrible ending? I would like to express my personal disatisfaction with the ending of the game, for many reasons.
Mass Effect has always been a game about choices, and usually difficult choices. We struggle through trials and adventures trying our best to make the choices we see best. The game has always done a FANTASTIC job at reflecting our most difficult and important decisions throughout all three games. I have to ask, why should the ending of Mass Effect 3 be any different?
I respect that you are the developer of the game, and ultimately have the power to create what you see fit. HOWEVER, Mass Effect is not simply a video game, it is an emotional and involving experience. Bioware has successfully created an experience that involved players on a very deep and emotional level, thanks to the level of cause and effect choices throughout the game. This is what the core gameplay of Mass Effect is built on, our player choices and how they resolve over the course of the games. The ending of Mass Effect 3 compeltely ignores everything that the entire series was built on; it ignores what made the game so involving and personal.
Please end this wonderfull series with a proper ending, one that fits the core gameplay features of the entire Mass Effect storyline. Make our choices matter, give us multiple endings that reflect how we play the game. If we want a good ending, let the players decide to choose that path in the game. I am not asking for anything unreasonable, I am only asking to recieve what has made the Mass Effect games so personal and involving for me.
I know you care about your game and the work you do. I know you care about your customers, and your loyal fans.
Please give us an ending that all players can be satisfied with, and that results from the choices we make.
Thank you,
*name removed*

but, apart from that, anyone got anything important to mention? something that i really shouldn't leave out?

besides of course that this is one of the most mature, polite and eloquent movements i've ever seen?

We hold grievances with the current ending and EA/BioWare because:

The game's ending fails to meet what we were promised as consumers.
The game's ending fails to meet our expectations as fans.
The response from BioWare needs to change.
We
have jobs, families, responsibilities. We dedicate our time to this
cause because we genuinely care about Mass Effect and its story.
We want to see a product that we, as human beings, as consumers, as fans, and as players can be proud of.
We
wish to see a conclusion to the game that does the rest of the series
justice - in terms of concluding the story and providing the players
with both choices and consequences to prior choices.
Retake Mass Effect 3 - Hold the line.

Just in case you forgot :P

ah come on ;P as if i could forget our 'credo'.
but i am trying to be rather serious here.. (haha.. ah, serious..)
damn.. not like i ever do anything important..

Right now, the main thing that's stopping Bioware/EA from making a decision is not knowing what will be more costly in the long run: loss of customers and revenue due to not amending the endings, or expenses for making new endings.

Honestly  I see them doing a huge expansion pack like deal to be released around   Holiday season. It gives them time  work  on it.

Be still my wrenching heart.  I couldn't wait ANOTHER year (okay 75% of a year) for a proper ending.

I wonder what reason he gave amazon. Amazon's refund/return policy is flexible, and they obviously care about the customers. I really hope this doesn't turn into a full-blown return campaign. :?

Couldn't return mine even if I wanted to... Bought the DDE direct from Origin... :? Don't think that'll happen again.

EU customers would have a lot more chance of getting returns than us Canadians anyway.  They've got some really wide cast consumer protection laws over there that are really, almost vague, in what they allow for a return complaint... remembering the whole Sony PS3 debacle where Sony removed the "other OS" functionality and a bunch of people were able to return it 3 years after they bought it because of it and stuff lol.
I'm not even thinking of returning mine until I'm sure they're not doing anything about the ending.

Guys, why would Bioware not released an ending DLC? Can someone come up with a reason besides "they don't want to"?
I feel like it is in their best interest to release it. Especially if it's paid; they will make tons of money not only from the DLC itself, but also because ME3 sales will go back to normal (because ppl who didn't want to play will be playing now, with the new and awesome ending)

giving us anything is going to make it seem like we won.  no matter how they try to spin it, trying to keep up the image of losers living in the basement or adults who are uanble to accept a sad story (in essence they are treating us like children).  no large company does well when it has to say we were wrong, it will take a hit. maybe even slow down growth as far as expansion etc. if there is any being planned in the future.  I haven't looked at the finanacials myself but I could do so.  They are a publicly traded company and it would be easy to check. If you like.  might not be bad for our future strategy to know just what they have cooking.  if they are like alot of current U.S. companies they may have massive debt on the books and this could impact ability to rasie future capital through stocks and bonds.

Okay so they don't have to admit there is a problem. They can still call us complaing whining bastards, but make an ending to "appease the fans." EA/Bioware doesn't have a lot of options right now. I understand none of them are exactly in their best interests either. They need to make a choice soon though. This is going to hit them hard if they keep up with whats going on.

That's true. But I feel like the only reason why they would avoid releasing a dlc is...pride. Which I'm not saying isn't important, but if they think about the long run, this might affect them more than they think. Plus they wouldn't be the first ones to admit that they were wrong. I also feel like if they said they made a mistake, their reputation would get better, especially among fans, because they fixed it. Better than keeping a bad product in the market when everyone knows it is bad while they're living in the illusion that it was good (kind of like DA2)

I don't think I could bring myself to return it to be honest, I mean I am pretty sure the place I bought it from would be happy to refund it. I just won't do that, I loved ME3 it was just the nonsensical ending I loathed

lmao, yes only powerful forces can get VG Cats to update these days.

Also my question got buried in the speed of the thread.  Where is it only $40?  I checked Amazon, Origin, and Gamestop and it is still regular price.

Sadly you are right it does need to be full blown return campaign and damn it hurts to say that... some many great moments in that game.  We would should talking about  Epic Shepard on Rannoch   choosing peace like a boss.

What must be done must be done...

Hopefully afterwards and if this thing does not go sideways and they fix the endings, add mutliple endings etc. We can  start  talking it back up again.   Until then we have to see this throug till the end...

Hold the line

I'm sure you've got it pretty much all nailed. Just reiterrate that we're not looking for the existing endings to be removed, they can be kept for existing fans, but merely more choice in the matter. Basically don't allow any room for misinterpretation. Feel free to look here for what I'm getting at.

Apart from that I'm sure you know how to hold yourself.

Well just to be clear: I'm not going to buy any Game or pay any fees for Bioware and/or EA till a final statement is made about the ending.

Its just like the DA2 release, but worse. I've lost my patience.

Someone please answer Chris with the tweet that the game isn't over until Bioware stops making DLC for Mass Effect 3 and I highly doubt that Bioware will not make any DLC for the game, unless of course Bioware is going to stop making DLCs.

LOL DIdn't see your comment until after I asked him this very thing. So, um, done (accidentally)...

That's actually kind of a bummer for me. Hated the way DA2 left things, didn't bother with the DLC cause I was only interested in something that would add to the aftermath of the game (possibly seperating Anders/Justice in the process).

Hmm, is there a pattern starting here?
