So we can't get the ending we want after all?

So Shepard is lying nearly dead at the control panel after Anderson dies. He says he doesn't know what to do and collapses. Then the elevator starts going up. Is it assumed that the Starchild activates it or is Shepard really some kind of Space Jesus? If the Starchild is the one who activates it, why? If he had let Shepard lie there and bleed out his precious cycle could have continued.
Supposing Shepard did miraculously activate it himself, why does the Starchild even explain anything to him? Odds are if he lets Shepard wander alone there with no direction nothing would change and Shepard would bleed out. Why does Starchild actively help Shepard? Please someone help me understand this.

and hold the line.
Well that and the 20 dollar drop from microsoft are well the first time I've ever seen this happen to a triple A game in what the first three weeks? of its run time.

I really hope this doesn't turn into a full-blown return campaign.
I hope it does. Money is the only thing that motivates EA. Period. And since EA pulls some powerful strings at BioWare, they could overrule a hypothetical decision by BioWare to not fix the ending.
Sadly you are right it does need to be full blown return campaign and damn it hurts to say that... some many great moments in that game. We would should talking about Epic Shepard on Rannoch choosing peace like a boss.
What must be done must be done...
Hopefully afterwards and if this thing does not go sideways and they fix the endings, add mutliple endings etc. We can start talking it back up again. Until then we have to see this throug till the end...
Hold the line
I ordered mine from Origins they won't take it back.

Haha. Dang it, I was going to make a war joke too! XD
Keep holding the line!
Along this line of thought...
I'm not quite sure what I'd think if they made an official statement while we were on page 2012...
Regardless of the decision Bioware makes, the gaming world as a whole is going to be turned upside down. Fans will feel unappreciated and insulted if they say they're not going to make new endings, but if they do, it'll change the face of the gaming industry as it currently stands. A LOT of people will not like that. I imagine it'll be similar to George Lucas' changes to the Star Wars movies, just... on a much much larger scale.

Probably some way to limit RetakeME3 tags in multiplayer or something.

Two Words: SPACE MAGIC!
Meaning: there is no explanation. That's the problem.

Maybe the starchild was helping Shepard since he/she came so far.
Other than that, maybe, Space Magic?

To be clear, I am "pro" ME3, but I am still listening and am accurately passing your opinions to the team. All @ BioWare listen & care.
since its 3 am - or 3:30 am and I'm tired; could be bothered to post links; just cut those tweets I got from Chris not to long ago

Our movement has not only making Bioware take notice for Mass Effects failed ending but Dragon Age 3 is goin to be better now because of it. Bioware canceled an expansion called "the Exalted March" for DA2 and said they are putting their forces else where.

You know, I heard that they were avid gamers, but they can be complete dicks too.
I'd be more interested in which side they'll take.

lol idk
Seriously, though, this is one of..several aspects of the ending that just kind of ...happens. Presumably, it was the Guardian that activated it, although why, as you say, it didn't just let Shepard die and shrugs its shoulders and say PHEW, THAT WAS A CLOSE ONE is beyond the comprehension of mere mortals like you and me. I suppose maybe the justification is that we (our cycle) were the first ones to get the crucible all fired up and ready to go, so we 'earned' the honor of some crap choices, and that's why Shepard gets nudged into making them?

I've thought seriously about requesting a refund several times since I saw the ending. But I still have hope. And I'm not going to say 90% of the game wasn't worth 90% of my money. I am quite pleased with MOST of the product BW has put out. I still have hope and will continue to hold the line.
