I hate posting anything in a forum, but I thought this was worth bringing up.
We've gone through this "cycle" at least once before. The Neverwinter Nights 2 community went through nearly the exact same situation with Bioware. NWN2, a relativeily buggy game (ME3 has its fair share of bugs that reviewers have too easily excused) was delivered with an ending that made almost everything you did meaningless (Look it up). Fans complained and threatened various actions and such, but not much came of it, except some patches to fix bugs. The problem with the ending was not "fixed" until the Mask of the Betrayer expansion came out and extended the story, while explaining what exactly happened to your party members in the OC. Someone could probably dredged some of those old posts up, but Bioware has been down this road before, just never with social media as it is today.
Anyway, I hope they fix it. I suspect they intended some special expansion as DLC or whatever from the beginning. I believe they knew what they were doing with the ending and left the narrative open so they could extend it (not change it), or else they wouldn't have provided the "Breath" ending. But I also think they never expected the outcry over the ending(s) to be so loud. But then again, the ending(s) were terrible, objectively terrible. It's not a matter of taste or preference; there are things technically wrong with the endings as they are now. And it's my opinion that the ending to a work of fiction is at least as important as its beginning, as if the beginning of the Mass Effect saga was as "polarizing" as its current ending, the series would have never seen a sequel.
Hold the line for those who came before and those who will undoubtedly come after.
that very well could be the strategy. continue to treat us like children in the press and in the general interaction with us and then eventually say "we love our fans so much that we're giving in", kind of like a long suffereing parent with a spoiled brat. but it hasn't been very long, only a few days.beetlebailey123 wrote...
Okay so they don't have to admit there is a problem. They can still call us complaing whining bastards, but make an ending to "appease the fans." EA/Bioware doesn't have a lot of options right now. I understand none of them are exactly in their best interests either. They need to make a choice soon though. This is going to hit them hard if they keep up with whats going on.

I don't think I could bring myself to return it to be honest, I mean I am pretty sure the place I bought it from would be happy to refund it. I just won't do that, I loved ME3 it was just the nonsensical ending I loathed
Thing is, this is why we as consumers have no power over companies that keep selling us crap.
We, as a society today have no clue how to go without. None. Nadda. Zip.
We are so used to having everything, right at our fingertips, all the time and whenever we want it.
We buy things without any thought as to the industries we are supporting, like ones that ship incomplete or totally buggy games.
If you want to send a message as a consumer, you've got to sacrifice, and sacrifice big over the long haul, and sadly, no one is really willing to do it in the numbers needed to effect real change in the world.
We've got the most powerful weapon, but not enough people willing to do without to use it.

I'm sure you've got it pretty much all nailed. Just reiterrate that we're not looking for the existing endings to be removed, they can be kept for existing fans, but merely more choice in the matter. Basically don't allow any room for misinterpretation. Feel free to look here for what I'm getting at.
Apart from that I'm sure you know how to hold yourself.
pretty much all i had up till now. but damn..
thank you for your input, i'll try to keep it in mind.. :/

First legit laugh of the day. Thank you.
I just spent about an hour catching up on everything I missed.
the most obvious answer to this is that bioware didn't know its fans. you guys all only thought you knew each other.PhoenixDove1 wrote...
I still don't get it. Bioware knows it's fans. As it's been said before, it's evident in the in game, all the little things they threw in. ..... I just don't get it

Not sure what you meantI am not trying to undermine you in any way whatsoever.
I think it's best you just say what you feel; if we all parrot rote responses then they won't take us as seriously. We are stronger as a group of individuals with differing beliefs and desires united by a common goal, just as Shepard attempted to prove in ME3 (and BioWare disproved with the Starchild Hypothesis)

I think that's the single valid reason for a return----but then, by the time we find that out, the 'return window' will long be closed.
In that case I'll just sell mine for $0.01
