I'm still completely flabbergasted that there are people out there defending these endings. I know we're keeping it civil and respecting each other's opinions, but I just can't see how a person could defend the countless plot-holes and travesties in that clusterf of an ending.

Anyway, off to bed troops. HOLD THE LINE.

Yes, I am equally as flabbergasted that professional writers seemed to think these endings were a good idea too.

Well, I can see where they thought they were good, from their point of view. The problem is, they're only a small group and they all share a similar vision of how they wanted things to play out. However, there's millions of fans out there with a completely different vision and completely different versions of Shepard.

So I can see how they and others think the ending is fine. It's their preference. What gets me flabbergasted is that they seemed to believe that everyone would share their vision and with so many different choices over three games, there's no way that was going to happen. That is the one thing that still puzzles me. I just don't get how they could provide such a narrow ending like that and negate all the choices people made like that. It seems to go agaisnt common sense

And I just love the word flabbergasted. Makes me giggle.

I wonder if Marauder Shields was flabbergasted?

"I'm Marauder Shields... and I'm flabbergasted at the ending!"

We're starting the work week. People need to sleep. Doesn't mean they're not still holding the line.

True, true. I've written a thing or two thinking it was good before realizing how terrible it was, so I can understand that. Unfortunately, they overlooked a lot of plot holes and, as you said, the players' choices. I'm flabbergasted that they didn't have a number of endings from happy to sad, maybe including this one if they really  wanted to.

Teehee, flabbergasted. I'm sure Marauder Shields was flabbergasted when we gunned him down, "Why won't you listen to me!?? The endings are bad!"

He tried to save us.

Just to discuss about something a bit "new": does anyone see a new proposal for endings made by fans that may suit with all our needs? Maybe it will allow to reach 2000 pages

We've actually reached a consensus of that sort: We cannot push for any specific ending----no one here is rallying for a particular ending that they would like to see.

We're rather arguing for an endgame that is logically sound, so that it allows for several diverse endings to unfold, as clear consequences, from the player's previous actions. That's the core demand of this thread, really.

Ok, I understand the point.

Every time i read a response on twitter from Jessica Merizan about the ending i feel more and more calm. Example:
@JessicaMerizan @GodMustHateMe87 Lots of rage the internet regarding the endings.Would it not be rsnbl to come out with a concrete stmt ?

her response:

@Sid1205 not before we're ready. This isn't being taken lightly and I don't think you want a rashly made statement/decision.

Let's speed em up then.

If you've told Bioware once already why your dissatisfied by all means tell them again.

i'll go first

- Choices have no impact on ending
- Complete lack of promised "variety"
- And an utterly non-sensical ending with major plotholes

Hold the line.

You forgot closure.

Something I found on IGN was someone who really posted a lot of support for the indoctrination theory-- lots of good examples. Everything from the pistol with unlimited ammo, husks dying in one shot, Shepard's sudden compliance, inverted choices (TIMs choice being Paragon, Anderson being Renegade), Shep just happening to be on a secret elevator when he collapses, and of course, Shep being on Earth after the "Destroy" option is chosen.

Trust me, reading that gives me a lot of hope and I commented that many of us would be extremely happy if that was the case and the real end was coming. I also said it would somewhat make me angry for a couple reasons-- namely 1) I paid for a full game and if I have to starting buy my endings separately in the future, my game library is going to shrink and 2) Bioware kind of dropped the ball on handling the backlash. They should have realized, even if their intention was to have the ending through DLC and that was we saw was Shep's mind struggling against indoctrination, that people wouldn't be happy being left with more questions than answers at the end of the game.

I'm not so surprised, you've got tons of people of all ages and from different cultural backgrounds playing this game. You can't expect anyone to care as much as we do for the story or actually realize its faults (some people may have actually been amazed by this "plot twist", having never seen something like this before... who knows =_=) . The rest of the game was incredibly good (attractive to both RPGer and shooters' fans) and that also helps in getting people to care less about a "disappointing" ending (let's call it that...), expecially if they are more interested in MP and in shooting things in the head. All in all I don't blame people for liking the ending, what I can't really stand is them attacking us... but I've to keep it civil!

Keep it civil and hold the line!

It's true that I haven't seen such kind of reaction all over the wolrd for "just" a game. Does somebody knows if it was so huge for Fallout 3?

Same here. Sometimes I think it was inhuman to deal with us and franchise the way Bioware did. I hope they do not consider us to be "enemies". I get some good feelings after reading a bit of Ms. Jessica Merizan's twitter, but maybe Iit's just that I want to have hope :crying:
