This whole thing just feels like bad marketing now. No one at EA actually dares to take a solid decision so they're just waiting and waiting and waiting while everything is crashing down around them.

If this continues ... EA / Bio prefers to be silent than to admit you were wrong, they never will! Image IPB

Part of me still can't even believe the endings were so CATASTROPHICALLY bad.

Why in all the seven hells would they decide to go with this?

*YUP SEEMS GOOD LETS DO THIS GUYS*...

My father is COMPLETELY technologically illiterate. He hasn't played a single game in his life, and he hardly knows how to type. I showed him the endings, and his response was this:

"Well, son. That reminds me of LSD back in the day when all the hippies were using it.  Colors and things, right? Strange things are thought up on that stuff. Are video games for those kind of people now-adays? You guys sit around and waste time just like the hippies did!  Can't make heads or tails outa what you've shown me, but I don't like the feeling."

Even my FATHER hated it, and I was at a complete loss for words as to how to respond to what he thought about it all...

I imagine LSD might have had something to do with it. I mean the ending is so bad that the only way BioWare could've approved of the ending is if they were on drugs at that time. Still makes me wonder how they managed to give drugs to every person who saw the game between then and launch though:mellow:

Well, they haven't do much Betatesting

Keep the pressure on, don't accept cryptic statements. We will be here as long as the ending is unresolved.

Were I president of Bioware, I would have released a statement on the direction of the game quite a while ago.

What.  Is.  Taking.  Them.  So.  LONG!

When I imagine Bioware Headquarters, I can't help but associate it with the BENNY HILL theme.  I also think of the employees chasing one another around and crap...

That, or they've been going all out partyhardy for the last few weeks...

OH, and when I think about some kind of musical theme to go with the board meeting that thought up the trash endings we have, I think of THIS.  For serious, Bioware:  I'm easily past genuis level, yet I'm thinking of these stupid things when I think of YOU GUYS.  Doesn't that say anything about how awful this whole situation is?

Hey 1962 it's the Cuban missile crisis. Or was that '63? Either way now we can make references to previous events within the last 100 years. :D

Yup.  Give EA customer support a call and tell them you want to return it.  Most get accepted.  Credit card gets credit back on it.

I imgaine them printing out the final copy of the script, then the printer jams on and wont stop shooting paper out, so they just have to grab what random pages they can and hope it makes sense :P Husks chasing policemen, then vice versa.

Were I running Quality Assessment at Bioware, I would have had to restrain myself from throwing a copy of the game at someone responsible, (shiruken style so it hurts more).

Why BIOWARE, one of the top gaming industrys of the WORLD, chose one of the ABSOLUTE WORST ENDINGS I have EVER SEEN since 2001 A Space Odyssey...

Now I'm getting mad again.

I've been reading some fanfiction whilst we hold the line, but we shouldn't have to turn to our own imagination as fans to get an ending that makes sense and has closure. I really hope Bioware is doing more than just the 'listening' they keep saying they're doing.

To be perfectly honest, I feel embarrassed to have been a Bioware fangirl for so many years and convincing people to try their games. I feel like I got suckered.

Soldier, it's too soon to make statements.

We need to hold the line and see what Bioware really is doing / want to do.

Wow, I don't even know how people can write fan fiction... lol. I was working on a Mass Effect fan novel but didn't manage to finish it before ME3 release. So I stopped my work on it to see if the story and the concepts would still be relevant after the game. Well, suffice it to say that since I finished the game I can't even look at the text anymore. I've stuck a concept sketch of the protagonist to the wall above my desk, and she stares at me accusingly all the time, "Why won't you finish my story!" And I just can't....

Would women's clothing get ripped off? That always happens in a Benny Hill skit. I could go for some of that. :o

But yes, communication is a HUGE part of stopping a fire. Ignoring the problem and hoping it goes away like most PR tactics seem to do just stokes the fire nowadays. People don't like being ignored and thanks to the power of the internet, there's a cheap and easy way for people to gather and protest in a short amount of time.

Oddly enough I just made a post in another thread that talked about ME3 and 2001 xD Here's what I said:

It kinda makes me think of the end of the 2001 movie when you compare it to the end of the book. In the movie all you can think is "what in the name of god was Kubrick on when he made this?", but in the book the ending is explained narratively.

I think, after having a week to digest the ending, that the developers thought they have a cleancut ending that would be appealing visually and make sense to the audience, but perhaps retain a bit of mystery. What they actually accomplished was the same thing Kubrick did.

The reason 2001 the film is still seen as a film classic is that if you actually have read the end to the novel and then watch the ending of the film again you know what is happening and it is a very well done stylistic ending for its era.

The problem is we don't have a manuscript to explain what should have been explained narratively. The starchild and the old man both neglect to give adequate information, the Illusive Man is....illusive, and then quite dead, Harby doesn't even bother talking to us, the cutscenes are more about imagery.

The writer's vision didn't display itself adequately and we're all left here to discuss it fruitlessly. It's frustrating -.-

*cough* i know tastes are different but please, the ending of 2001 is just awesome... and it's fiting because the whole movie has a mysterious and metaphysical touch... it is meant to be like we are watching it from an alien point of view...
