Sure, the movement itself will support the BBC article based on what they says.
We've gained something and lost something with Amazon/Origin ME3 refunding choise.
We need to hope for the BBC article for now, we'll see it soon enough.
We haven't lost anything, I don't get why anyone would think its bad news for us that Amazon grands a full refund for the game. It's quite the oposite in my opinion. Up until now bioware had most likely sold enough games to make more than up for the proctuction costs of the game. I bet they are very much in the plus here. So changing or adding to the ending for them is a question of how much more money can they gain and will they lose anything by not doing anything and just releasing DLC stuff that adds to the game BEFORE the mission to the cerberus base.
If players have now the chance to give the game they bought back and get a full refund this means the numbers will drop, less sold games means less money. It also means bad press if say 500000 (thats just a made up number ofc) games were given back.
What does that mean for bioware and EA? simple they are starting to lose some of the money they have already gotten (if the refund is from origin) or they won't be getting any more money of "new" sold games from amazon because they will have a stock of returned games.
No company likes to lose money they have already planned with, so this puts presure on them to fix the ending and make the fans happy so that those who already returned it will rebuy it again. I've spoke to players who have returned the game even writing in the letter/email they will rebuy the game as soon as bioware fixes the end.
Bioware and EA have already "lost" quite some money this year because of swtor. If you have followed that you will know they did not sell as much games as they hoped and they did not get the amount of subscribers they hoped for either.
They will not want to risk to lose even more money with Mass effect, because let's face it, the mass effect fan base is huge and if they wouldn't see the chance of making a lot of money on us, they wouldn't have released so much DLCs in the past.
It's up to them now to respond to this and fast before more and more players will simply return their game and not bother with this anymore.
