Oh my, that is astonishingly sad foresight. Lol, he states two endings he would hate to see, and we ended up getting a combination of both.

Deep inside I still want to believe that BW planned this.

Indoctrination makes most sense, FAR more sense than the current endings, unless they disregard everything from ME1, ME2 and ME3 (up to the end)), disregard the Codex, every dialogue you had. Everything points to indoctrination and it would be EPIC if it turned out to be true - Shep fights off indoctrination, gets up and starts kicking ass + lives happily ever after (they build a bigger Statue in Citadel, that overshadows the Krogan Statue).

For the record, the IGN poll sputtered out at 13,000 negative votes and and 1,200 positive votes. Does that ratio seem about right to people in this thread?

My first thought is that it's sad those 1,200 people haven't played Deus Ex.

If you follow the original thread from that post onwards you see just how prescient this person appears to be.

How many people work at EA/BW and IGN combined? :P

Also, there are probably a huge amount of people who just bought ME3 and never played the other two games. They probably aren't as emotionally attached to the characters or world and just see it as a shooter. That would make them easily satisfied.

As do I. But if so, they let us all buy a game that wasn't complete. Remember that when they say "Here's the endings! That'll be $10 please!"

well... you've paid EA for ME3, so they've paid ign for 1200 votes? it's like a reapers cycle

A part of me hopes the indoctrination theory is true. It's a very tiny part though.

Indoctrination theory is just the blind hope of a large part of this community. Indoctrination theory would mean that BW shipped a game without an ending, and I just can't accept that fact.

I wonder when BW will determine that players have had "enough time to finish the game". I believe that our case has been stated clearly, in a sophisticated and civil manner not only in multiple threads on this forum, but also by the media. I really hope that we don't have to wait until PAX to hear a clear answer.

See, they're waiting it out, hoping that this will die down. Or that we'll get frustrated enough that we'll turn into rabid lunatics who they can dismiss.

This will not die down. We will not devolve into flaming.

Bioware, you need to respond, and soon. Every day that goes by without a statement is one step further along the path of your company's good name being ground into the dust.

Maybe they are hoping that we will be turned into husks that they can command at will to buy their unfinished products without question.... *looks around quickly for impending death by impalement on spike*

They certainly gave us that impression after being cheated out of £69 and finishing the ending.... -_-

Oh and as a side note the number of pages on this thread is nearing my date of birth-1989!

Honestly, I don't know if they will be replying anytime soon. If they really don't have real endings already at hand, which is pretty unrealistic, the best thing for them to do would be to let the uproar slowly die out.

I mean, what can we ultimately do to them? We have the bad press, bad reviews, the charity, and so on, but if they just say: "we are listening and are proud of you for the chaarity", without actually doing something about the endings, it will have the least immediate financial impact on them.

If they announce to release a DLC ending, hey have to spend aditional money, and A LOT, if they want to make it right. Imagine they released just another 5 min. of additional cutscenes... this won't do.

If they state they won't change the endings, they'll let our hope die and make us so frustrated, we'll refuse to buy anything Mass Effect related.

However, if they just keep quiet, our hope for the ending DLC can live on. Real consequences like true boycott of Bioware/EA products cannot be calculated. I guess in 1 or 2 years or so, the Mass Effect series will just be remembered as having that bad ending, but people will have accepted it, will have moved on, and will be willing to by other Bioware games.

So all we can do is hold the line, but I'd prepare myself holding it for a  long time until they really react to it, if they do react.

I think indoctrination theory being proven as accurate would be pretty damn awesome. Shep fights it off, rallies the fleet and epic space battle, defeat of the reapers doesn't really sound lame to me.

If the game we got continued on from that intake of breath amongst the rubble to a costly but decisive victory, I'm pretty sure everyone here would be singing BWs praises for the clever tactic of destroying our hope only to, at the last minute, bring it all back again. The deeply psychological aspects of the concept would definitely go down in history as one of the greats.

I know it's just my opinion but saying that ending is lame doesn't leave us with much else apart from acceptance of space magic which, to me, is lamer.

Or are you saying it's lame of bioware to withold that ending as a Marketing ploy?

Russian fleet keeps holding the line.

Don't know if this was already published here or not:

UK Top 40: FIFA Street boots Mass Effect 3 off top spot

UK Video game chart: FIFA Street scores a No1

The last one mentions that "Mass Effect 3 slips to No.2 with a 74 per cent drop in sales, followed by SSX and FIFA 12. Mario Party 9 holds at No.5."

That's what happens when customers and fans are not happy with the endings. I'm sure that our activities in #RetakeMassEffect movement made a difference here as well.

Hold the line!  I'm pretty sure that we're close to our victory, and we will get what we (customers) want - endings which make sense.
