I mean it would be lame not to include it in the game already. yes it'd be epic, my heart would be RACING after such depressing "first ending" to begin with but now... it would seem like an act of desesperation. I don't know, just going "hey it was a joke here's the real ending" doesn't sit fine with me.
Ahhh, phew. Thought as much.... was worried I was going to have to get out the Salmon of Sanity.
Yes, I kind of agree. If it had been the plan from the beginning and it was just not completed, I could have waited another month or so. If they said that they had not quite finished and there is more to come, I could accept it.
But their reticence to admit anything implies that they just screwed up and anything coming along now is going to reek of desparation.
But, if you're listening BioWare, it's ok, you will have redeemed yourself in our eyes if you admit to your error prior to/upon release. Give us the ending your masterpiece deserves.

I can't speak for all of them, but some of them used ingame assets so were taken down by EA and cafe press,

Must stop skimreading.
Just read that as "Ha, I just killed a Gamestop employe at our local store. I think he was about to cry"
Was about to state that it was a bit excessive

Maybe I'm just crazy, but I see those as potential unintended outcomes of all this.

Did two guys in their own room just told me to "Open my mind" and negated everything Mass Effect stood for?
More important, did he just say we "Insult Bioware for beeing so lazy about the game!". Aren't we saying the rest is great and only the end was bad?
I have to dissagree with you there, the rest of the game maybe "OK" but it certainly is not great (at least not all the time!), it is missing more immersion (like ME1 and 2), fights alongside your war assets, a final boss and some more awesome missions (i would have loved a mission reminding me of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes back - and one like Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, with the difference, that you do not blow up the "deathstar" (in that case a dreadnought reaper), but board it or something)...so yeah, they messed up more then the ending IMHO (still, the rest of the game would be good enough - not "mind blowingly good", but "well, not to bad" - if they at least presented a conclusion of sort...atm it is like a car without tires IMHO!

Deep inside I still want to believe that BW planned this.
Indoctrination makes most sense, FAR more sense than the current endings, unless they disregard everything from ME1, ME2 and ME3 (up to the end)), disregard the Codex, every dialogue you had. Everything points to indoctrination and it would be EPIC if it turned out to be true - Shep fights off indoctrination, gets up and starts kicking ass + lives happily ever after (they build a bigger Statue in Citadel, that overshadows the Krogan Statue).
God that would be awesomebut...... they just don't talk. They are just like machine aknowleadging but never answering anything
Which could potentially be another piece of supporting evidence. If they had planned this then it stands to reason that they're keeping it very... very quiet. Do not loose hope. BioWare will send a serious response some day.

As I read it it feels kind of disturbing that this was that much fun for me! ;-) But man that's all I've got! Hold the line!
Teehee!
I've a friend and a cousin that still have to finish the game.
When they do, I'll blow their minds.
I want to see tears other than mine.

Is anyone else a little concerned that if Bioware does change the ending, they may still screw it up? Or that, if we hit Bioware too hard, EA may simply decide to cut their losses and abandon Mass Effect altogether? Meaning that there would be no ending fix?

This. Have been thinking about it myself but I'm really willing to take the risk. Guess there's just too much trust into Bioware (left) in me, based on much brighter days. I would never had imagined they screw up the ME3 ending, so I still can't even think about them screwing it twice.

We will never know if we do not try. Also, when it comes to "cutting their losses" I doubt that they want to lose their loyal fanbase. Of course, EA has always been about the short-term gain.

No ending fix basically means that we wouldn't be in any different a situation that we are now.
EA abandoning ME altogether would impact their sales even more as people took a stand against EA.
If BW do release ending DLC and it's because of the movement rather than in spite of it, then they would make damn sure to get it right.
So, no, I don't share your concerns, but I recognise their validity.

It might be a lame ending, but at least it would be an ending.
As for EA pulling the plug...doubt it. That would be immensely costly for them.
It's more likely they will continue to stall for time.

The themes of the ending are a total spherical to the main imagery of the series focus on horticulture and morris dancing
