Weeeeeeeh, page 1989... the year, the German Democratic Republic stopped existing.

and what a sad year it was for us west-germans (they saddled us with all the debts of east-germany alias the german democratic republic)

I agree that the people of east-germany had to be freed (i hate dictatorships with passion). I just hate that we have to pay for something politicians decided without our input (like helping greece ATM...i am for letting them lie in the bed they made for themselves!) like they are doing ATM again

Hell, what Bioware did to the endings feels a lot like that - they decided to screw us over and we didn't have a chance to appeal before they shipped this crap to us!

But now we hopefully can, so: HOLD THE LINE!

i am still for forming an organisation that keeps an eye out for such developments in the future, with this movement being the foundation for that...then we can really say:

I WAS PART OF THAT, FROM THE BEGINNING!

greetings LAX

SO are we prepared to take the movement forward based on Biowares response? I mean if they release new endings and or gameplay after the "ending" are we prepared to support it en mass and likewise are we prepared to embargo the main game and boycott dlc if they decide to move forward doing nothing? - Holding the line in Detroit!!!

Is anyone else a little concerned that if Bioware does change the ending, they may still screw it up? Or that, if we hit Bioware too hard, EA may simply decide to cut their losses and abandon Mass Effect altogether? Meaning that there would be no ending fix?

Maybe I'm just crazy, but I see those as potential unintended outcomes of all this.

I don't see it that way. I think they had a lot invested in this game to let it all just go to hell. We have to remember that the game is still pretty damn good, its just that last 15 minutes that are the issue.
I think they have more to gain than to loose by correcting this matter.

Exactly my concerns. And honestly, I think abandoning the ME series is what they'll do. They'll maybe release 1SP and 1MP DLC just to see how it sells, and if it doesn't, they'll just be focusing on other games, not trying to ruin endings like this ever again.

Sad I know...

HOLD THE LINE

Right. It's the reported drop in sales that kind of scares me. I can see some EA suit saying "Well, what's the point in releasing an ending DLC when no one is buying the game any more?"

That's Startchild logic, and completely disregarding of facts (not you, the hypothetical EA suit). DLC is not there to promote new sales, but to obtain money from sales that have taken place already. People who don't own the game won't buy DLC.

I wouldn't concern yourself that much over that. Also, bear in mind that anyone warned off the game due to the ending would be more inclined to buy it if they knew that there was DLC available which altered that fact. EA must realise that.

They have to. :crying:

I'm mostly lurking. Only done 3-4 posts. Mostly becuase I don't trust myself while I'm so disappointed.

But when Sir Sean Connery shows up and tells me to "keep it civil," it calms me down in real life.

On Topic: What ever happened to "The Truth" DLC. Troll? I'm guessing troll. Too good to be true.

One step at a time, until Bioware actually does something we have nothing to move forward on, steady soldiers, hold that line.

I'd laugh myself to death if the world ended as well. At least you'd go out on a high note and with a smile.

What have we got to lose mate? The endings couldn't possibly get any worse with the amount of feedback BioWare is receiving. Might as well keep pushing and see what they come up with. The worst that can happen is that they say 'no', in which case this series is officially dead to me. No need to worry about EA pulling the plug then.

Not sure how others feel about this of course. But I can't imagine there are many people around actually looking forward to a Mass Effect 4 if this business is not resolved.

Well, again, I agree the course we're on is the only one we can take. I just tend to worry about these things.

Correct.  It was an anonymous post on 4chan from somebody who claims that he was being laid off at Bioware and releasing "The Truth" info was his revenge.

Well, somebody startet to compare the thread pages with important historical dates like 1789 = french revolution, so I thought, the death of the GDR would fit best for 1989.

Nun, irgendjemand hat halt angefangen die Thread-Seiten mit wichtigen historischen Daten zu vergleichen, wie 1789 = französische Revolution, da hab ich gedacht, der Tod der DDR würde zu Seite 1989 am besten passen ;)

Glad ole Sean can be of help, yes, it appears the truth dlc was not the truth after all.

I struck out those words because we are attempting to avoid their use in this thread.

counter campaign to support the endings has 385 members. The lulz ensue.

Which I think most funny as in:

"If you do not want to change YOUR ending, and if you are fine with Tri-colored explosions, simply do not download the DLC.". Why they now go onto the barricads is not really clear to me.
Well, they have 386 members. Judging by the growth of our movement since the time I came we get 2700 people every day on facebook, 6700 people on this side every day and 9000$ every day on the charity side. It will take some work...not that I do not think they have every right...but it will take some work.

Yea i have been wondering why they feel the need to organize a counter campaign. Its not like we want them not to have the ending they want, all we are asking for is a DLC for us to download to have it changed, if they like the ending as it is, they simply dont have to download it.
We've had some people here in the topic as well as in the chat http://lugoentertain...3ending/#!/Chat that have been rather aggressive towards us, claiming we are trying to force something on them they don't want. Which obvioulsy is not true, but what they are doing is just that. Trying to make sure that we don't get the ending we would like, forcing us to end this game that way. Why is that? Why can't both groups get what they desire? Why do we have to the the ones to suffer, because they simply don't want any changes, that would not even effect them?
This is just so damn selfish that I can't get over it. It would be like saying, they have to change the game and have to make it impossible to play it anymore unless the DLC with the new endings is installed.
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind people saying that they like the endings, that is totaly fine, they are obviously entitled to their opinions and I don't want them to have to shut up about it either, but what i find unaccepable is saying NO DON'T CHANGE THE ENDINGS AT ALL , DONT GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT. There is no reason to do this, as it is sooo easy to make both groups happy.
We don't want to force new endings on players who enjoyed it, never have. We just want to be happy too, is that to much to ask?

I'm sure some if it is part of the PR tactics.  Don't let it get to you.  We will remain constantly civil and polite but, most of all we'll Hold The Line.

I love the logic on the Mass Effect Datapad. I can purchase some upgrade that provides "significant additional readiness" for 500 000 credits. I could launch enough missions to push my readiness to 100% and still not have 500 000 credits.

Just to do the math on this, I can launch a 5 hour mission for about 1000 credits, leaving me to complete 500 missions to reach 500 000 credits. For each mission, I also recieve about 1.5% readiness. By the time I reach 500 000 credits, my readiness could be as high as 700%.

Right. It's the reported drop in sales that kind of scares me. I can see some EA suit saying "Well, what's the point in releasing an ending DLC when no one is buying the game any more?"

They know why people don't buy the game right now, because their friends have told them not to, warned them about the disapointment. Think back mass effect 2 or 1 even. How many friends have you suggested to try that game out because you liked it so much? Would you tell them now to play me3? Most likely not right. At least i won't.
They know that players who returned their game have done so because they were unhappy with the ending and will rebuy it as soon as it changes, because most of them have told that in the return letter/email or posted it elsewhere.
They know that if they walk away from this, they will forever be known as the company who ruined a perfect franchise that had tons of loyal fans and customers that happily bought everything they released regarding to it and not just the games. books, comics, tshirts...you name it. They will forever be known as the company who didn't listen to what their fans wanted and had to pay the price. They will forever be a internet joke, just look at the amount of videos and pictures there are already and that's not even two weeks after release. They will be known as a company that lies to their fans and they will never again be trusted by those who were once die-hard bioware fans and bought every game of them, not just mass effect.
They know they will be able to make a lot of money by releasing a DLC that chances the ending and give players what they want. They have to know it, otherwise someone there isn't doing their jobs very well.
Fans are graving for this, but if they don't pick the right time to do this, it might be to late and fans might walk away and not come back.

We have to see this through, we can't give up now, because we are starting to get concerend what will happen to bioware. Because if we dont, nobody will ever again take players serious. They will just say "oh let them rage and whine for two weeks then it will be over and we can move on. Maybe distract them a bit with some stuff here and there."
