This is true, except for the misspelling of "measly." Actually, as much as I'm disappointed in the fate of the Normandy, the rest of the ending actually sounds to me like it could be pretty good. I'll just have to manipulate things so that my favorite characters (who thankfully don't include Liara or Vega) aren't stranded with the rest of the crew.GodWood wrote...

BW listens to there fans... sometimes but this is driven by EA and all EA gives a s*** about is Money
My only hope for games as a creative medium are Live/PSN/Steam and their love affair with indie titles.

I guess we all have to realize Bioware is Ea and EA is Bioware. They took the merge ending appearently.

As I said before, it is not that hard to fix this like it would be to fix a giant mess like DA2. It's a simple ending. One more cutscene. Modders with the tools could do it easily.
There is a modding group up already thats planning to change the ending.

Took them several months, dramatic loss of sales, and a virtual firestorm of topics before they admitted they might have made mistakes with DA2. Just one topic, however prolific, isn't going to change much at the moment. Besides, even if they are listening, it's a little too late for them to come up with a good ending in less than six days.DifferentD17 wrote...

Those were around when Bioware could change the direction of the franchise to accomodate these concerns and yet they still didn't.
Trust me, atm, this is nothing.

Thank God, I will be first in line for that. I'll figure out someway to mod it into my XBox.

As I said I'm going to give it a chance but if these endings really are all we get I just may have to reinstall Icewind Dale 2 and Baldurs Gate 2 to remember the Bioware I loved that sadly died a horrible death sometime after Mass Effect 2 was released.
Before Mass Effect 2 was released.

I have no doubt that this will be one of the greatest Bioware journey's yet with emotionally indepth characters.
Which will make this sloppy and heartless ending all the more difficult to swallow...

If they were purely creating the endings from a "make money" POV they'd just appease the masses and toss out some cookie cutter "lol Shepard saves the day and lives happily ever after with his space waifu/husbando" ending.DifferentD17 wrote...

I loved Mass Effect 2, had very little to complain about it. I consider it their last good game. I really love The Old Republic too but it's hard to decide what to feel about it when it's the middle of the sloppy crap sandwich of Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3.

Actually if the game was to be as they claimed, it should've factored in the "1000's of variables" and there wouldn't be set endings and instead an ending generator.GodWood wrote...

I have only personally seen one game where a group of modders created wholesale cutscenes out of scratch (never mind cutscenes that are pre-rendered). That was the Nameless Mod for the original Deus Ex, which took the better part of a decade to finish (and was in-engine). Reinstating cut content, sure. Never anything on the level of what you're proposing. That Youtube video looks silly as hell.
The leaked endings are all pre-rendered cutscenes. If someone wants to "create their own ending", they not only have to put in significant time and effort creating said cutscenes from scratch, but they would also require access to the game's source code from Bioware - maybe even create new character animations. Do you know how much time and effort something like that would take? Years, conservatively.
Unless BW somehow come up with post-game DLC (a la Fallout 3: Broken Steel) to retcon everything, this is the set of endings we'll get. I'm not too broken up over it.

They're doing the endings in order to possibly cut off from rehashing the same **** over and over, they've essentially doomed the current plot threads completely and dismissed everything relevent. Council politics, Cerberus, Humans achieving too much power too fast, Humanity's place in the galaxy, ect. All of that is irrelevent now.
EA wanting more would force prequels or sequels set in a completely different time.
