I finally, after over a week, got the courage to replay the ending (on my existing save). I just couldn't help laughing. It's so bad... Mass Effect has just lost all class to me. It's just corny and stupid to me now.

I get sad remembering the franchise that I lost. But I stopped caring about the game itself. Way to ruin something beautifull.

People returning their copies, that of course is entirely up to you, but that is going to mean a financial loss for Bioware, we are not at war with Bioware, we are fighting because we care, if they get financial problems then it's going to be difficult for them to develop more content, that includes any new endings.

However if we don't hurt them somehow, they'll ignore us, as that is significantly easier then actually giving into our demands.

I'm generally an easy going person. Things can annoy me greatly but I let them go pretty easily, or at least as best I can. Like you it has been over a week since I have finished the game and I am still feeling incredibly unhappy and upset. And as sad as it sounds I'm still hurt by the ending dammit! There's enough negativity in life, just watch the news, some of you may not agree but I wanted my Shepard to end up happy. I was happy when she reconciled with Kaidan - after 3 games of hard fighting and tough choices my Shep deserves whatever happiness she can get.

I don't think there's anything shameful in being so broken up over "just a video game." Stories are powerful things to humans. No one would dare mock someone for being so broken up over "just a novel." Stories are stories, regardless of the medium. 

I also don't think there's anything shameful in wanting a happy ending. I do. It's nonsense that only dark endings have artistic merit. To quote Jeremy Jahns' excellent YouTube video, "The phrase 'the hero has to anything' in a game like Mass Effect that's built around choice and you picking your own destiny - it goes against everything that Mass Effect is all about." Why not have a happy ending? Why do what is considered "edgy" rather than what fans choose?

Alot of us feel your pain. If you start to become too angry take a break from the forums and focus on something else for a while. EA and Bioware would love it if we all started foaming at the mouth. Then they could just point at us and say "look! they are completely irrational!" and if that happens its all over.

And you're right to feel that way. If you've read the PR thread, you'll see that the guy who works in PR says that characterizing us as whiners rather than as consumers is a PR tactic. We need to fight it. We are customers. We are consumers. The gaming industry really needs to come around to that point of view.

But if BW goes down, than there will be no endings at all. We should still show our support untill they say something. If they say, that there will be no new endings, then we should give our copies back but not bevor that.

In germany the price for the Standard Edition droped from 49,99€ to 39,99€.

^ Exactly this. Dark endings are not the only way to end a series. And even if it was dark, it should have been fully thought out. Not just, let's add some nonsense at the end and give the players some illusion of choice.

The problem is not the annoucement itself, but how long they will take to deliver anything (if so they choose) after april 6th. Honestly, if I have to wait for a few more months for the new ending (or whatever it is) I will just forget Mass Effect ever existed.

I am holding the line and I will keep doing it because I believe that we as customers are entitled to rights (do not mistake that with artistic license entitlement) and Bioware had delivered a sub par product that did not match the description they so eagerly displayed pre-launch. For the lack of a better word, we were conned, and it made me lost a lot of the respect once I had for Bioware/EA. As time passes by and no further announcement is made, it just shows how little they care for us, fans and customers, so as it stand, I am here and I will remain here, but not because of the game, but because I believe we deserve a public apology from Bioware team for putting us in this position.

Nothing that were really hoping for yet. 

The only thing I can think of is that Origin is supposedly offering full refunds now along with Amazon for anyone wanting to return the game due to story complaints
