the BBC can talk, they jumped into bed with BSKYB and tens of thousands of decent tax payers and license payers complained and set up polls, and even tried to get the government to stop the deal. needless to say, the dirty bbc/sky/ecclestone deal went through and now bbc customers get half the live races. disgusting broadcasting corp, the license should be scrapped and the BBC pulled down, filthy dirty birds

You're placing coverage of sporting events above the importance maintaining objective viewpoints?

Seriously, it's people with that sort of mentality that cause papers like the News of the World and The Sun to stay in circulation.

I'm truly amazed.

Ok, had to pick one comment from the BBC article and post it here:
Hazel-Rah, I would hardly call the protesters "respectful". One look at the game developers' official forums shows a torrent of vitriol towards the makers of the game, from threats about direct action to promises of harrassment of all sorts. One incident even involved someone asking for recruits to become suicide bombers for the developer's offices.

It's gone far enough, in my opinion.

I think his lying as fast as his typing, BUT it's still a good reminder what we should not under any circumstances do. These kind of people have already enough ammunition, and considering the relevant ignorance of the public, they don't need more.

I really haven't kept an eye on rest of the threads, other than this and 'we are listening', but I know rest of you have and will do, so I'm asking for you to try to stop this kind of thing if it happens in the threads/other forums/etc you visit.

Urgh it annoys me we are the ones getting called names like "entitled fans" by the media, and much worse but it seems to me at least the vitriol comes from the side that defends bioware. Ive very rarely seen a comment that could be considered hateful on our side, yet almost all ive seen from the other side is hateful.

Wait, we want to recruit suicide bombers?

Is this guy actually serious? That is completly NOT true. Could someone go over and clarify this?!

What's this all about?

Somebody on the BBC article apparently wrote:

"...Also they are trying to recruit suicide bombers for an attack on the Bioware HQ...this has gone to far!"

Oh, and my question in the last post was actually sarcasm like: "Are we? We are certainly not!"

Wow yeah I just went over and read his whole comment.... ugh.

Don't let it get to you though, we know how we act, we know we're civil--we're above that kind of divisive behavior.

The news article itself seemed pretty positive towards our movement too, to say the least.

EDIT: removed the "T" word. :police:

Don't be too sure of that.  I wouldn't put that choice past people like Uwe Boll or Michael Bay.

And it's probably me. I've for a flashlight on my head, cats love me.

To who? Me? Ah I couldn't care less, I've had people poking fun at me ever since elementary school, when all the guys would tease me for kissing another girl, then the girls would mess with me for being so much like a guy.... I swear if I ever see the color pink on one of my pieces of clothing I'm going to burn it.... Gah I'm off topic... again! >.< Just PM the joke, if its that offensive for the thread.
Good point that... and know she finds it amusing to lie in the middle of my back, and she starting to sleep.... damn cat can sleep where ever she wants... :pinched:

If Bioware goes down, they brought it on themselves. If they had said a few days ago that they'd work on one, none of the price drops would have happened. The longer they wait, the worse it gets, and I personally have washed my hands clean of this, as it would be so so easy for bioware to fix this.

And people are returning their copies, just something to think about.

Congrats people. I don't remember seeing a thread this big over the DA2 controversy, not once. Keep on trucking!

Indeed, very interesting ME times, and here's to hoping that the ME3 ending will turn out to be the most genius stunt in recent gaming history, holding on to my copy of the game, holding the line etc.

About DA2 though, it was loved by a large enough crowd to not be polarized like this (myself included, love the hell out of that game) it was flawed sure, but also magnificent, and personally I thought the ending was great.

However if we don't hurt them somehow, they'll ignore us, as that is significantly easier then actually giving into our demands.

You hurt them by stating and sticking by not making any future purchase of full games and/or dlc if they do not come through with a decent ending to ME3.

Ah, you were talking about the returns, misunderstood you there, thought you were saying keep buying bioware stuff, you are correct, although honestly I can't find alot of heart to blame people that do. All it would take bioware is one statement, they don't even have to have a rough draft, just a simple yes would cause 99% of this to blow over. My respect for the company has been severly crippled, and I can see why some people just want to forget about it, move on, and never touch another bioware product again.

Pax seems so far away, April 6 to today's March 20, but we can outlast Bioware, and we can Hold the line till then, if that's what it takes to get this situation taken care of.

In Game Design class right now, and we spent the first 40 minutes talking about Mass Effect 3, my teacher points out the points we did in his words:

"1.There are plot holes big enough to fly the normandy through.....oh wait they actually did that.

2. Supposed to be 15 endings, but actually 3 for those who are tough on the game."

Me talking: "Actually more like 1 with 3 different colors." (I got the whole class including the teacher to laugh and agree with meImage IPB

"Teacher talks more
3. For Bioware being a great writer of stories, they have completely lost me on how they could write an ending like this.

4. Did I mention the plot holes??

5. In ME2, you destroy a relay which in turn causes a supernova that destroys an entire system.....then in ME3 the choice is destroy relays kill everyone and....that's it. You've just destroyed the entire galaxy."
Me speaking up in class: "Techincally you just killed more people than the reapers ever have. Image IPB" They again laughed and agreed with me. Being in this class I've been able to laugh really hard for the first time since I finished ME3. I love this class.Image IPB

Sacred of the SSV Midwest, reporting from her Game Design class, I'm here, we are not alone in this, and I am HOLDING THE LINE

1 - The Normandy? you are so kind. I could fit the entire Sol System in the game's Plot Holes.. It should be called Black holes  instead, since they suck everything in it and leave us with nothing..

2- 3 endings? Again, you are just too kind. As a matter of fact we had no endings at all. We had a choice with a 2 minutes cutscene that didn't show anything, much less an ending. We were just hanging in there wondering what had just happened.

3 - Check Dragon Ages 2. The story there was lacking too, but at least they didn't put in a twist. Or should I say, they didn't twist our minds with that travesty of a story.

4 - Yep, the Black Holes again... Still sucking the joy I once had for playing Mass Effect...

5 - Again, plot hole. Or should I say Bioware suffers of xenophobia. In Arrival the Mass Relay destroyed the system because the devs were tired of Batharians. They hated the poor guys, and what a better way to be rid of them if not by destroying their entire colony. They hate the poor bastards so much that they were the first race hit by the Reapers.. Prejudice is such an ugly thing Bioware. Shame on you..

Your teacher has the right ideas, but he just didn't go far enough. There is so much more to talk about... /lol

How time consuming / problematic would it be to make most of your stuff available as posters? I'm thinking of getting one, because they dont look like classic videogameposters, but to some degree as "I would hang them in my room" worthy. (I usually don't hang up video game posters.)

The only downside so far is that a large poster would cost 46.80 Euro, shipping not included.

Posted this in another thread which is now totally buried, but thought it was worth reposting here.  Seen a few threads popping up with people apparently squabbling over the question of whether we, as a group, do and/or should want a 'happy ending':

I think this point kind of gets muddled sometimes, but best I can explain my view is like this: I definitely, absolutely want a happy ending for my own 'main' Shepard. So I definitely, absolutely want that to be an option.

What we don't want is an 'automatic' Happy Ending that everyone gets by default, barring a major screw-up. No, we want a variety of endings depending on how we've played, the choices we've made, and hey - maybe based somewhat on personal taste, why not?

In ME2, it's possible to sail through the ending with your entire squad alive and well. It's also possible for some of them to die - in fact, even Shepard can die, if we want to arrange things that way. In spite of the fact that ME2 really only has one or two 'real' endings, the amount of control we are given makes it impossible to describe our own endgame experience in terms of 'I chose option A, B, or C' - we actuallyhave to describe how we got there. We must define the tasks we assigned to whom, who was successful and who wasn't and why. A lot of people, myself included, really really love that ability to tailor-craft an ending that suits our taste. We would like this same feeling of freedom in the ME3 endings as well.

Feel free to add your thoughts.

By the way, seeing twitter, it seems likely they won't say anything until at least 1 month, we must hold the line.
