Don't know if you saw this already, but two days ago Angry Joe made a top ten video about why the ending is such a huge letdown and how it didn't give us any of the things we were promised. Nothing we haven't heard already, but fairly well done and detailed.

All I can say is "New war asset gained: Angry Joe Army (+750)"

I also noticed that he doesn't really sound angry this time around. Just sad and disappointed. It's almost kinda heartbreaking.

I noticed that too when I watched the video, nice impact and so appropriate it hurts. I'm not a huge fan of his show, but I have looked through quite a few reviews, if only because I know he will give his honest opinion on a game, and I can trust that opinion is based on the game and only on the game in question.

Not much to the article that has already been said elsewhere.

I have responded to this article providing more information on the movement. It focuses on the FTC complaint, claims not to have been able to find the FB page (or that of the counter movement) and mentions nothing of the charity.

This I have attempted to rectify.

Norwegian fleet reporting back in after damage controlle (went to my therapist)

Felt really good to talk about it with someone professional and as a bonus, I might have found some allies.
The guy I go too is a student majoring in psychology (It's free, I'm poor don't judge me :P)
And he was very facinated with the whole situation so he promissed to take it up with his professor and his class.
Maybe we can get some people who can properly analyse why this actually upsets the players so much, instead of reporters jumping to conclusions (*cough* IGN *cough*)

Btw, any news in the last 30 pages?

Oh and great job getting to page 2000 people

Hold the line!

No judgement if it helps who cares if it's free! Also I'll be interested to hear their opinions on why we're all so damn sad keep us posted! So say we all...er hold the line.

www.youtube.com/watch

They start talking about it at around 2:32:00

I've just posted this on another thread discussing the scene where Joker is trying to outrun the space magic aboard the Normandy. Thought I'd share it here as well because this thread is the number on collection of thoughts about why Mass Effect deserves a better ending:

"Space magic is space magic. It doesn't only defy real physics but also any fictional Mass Effect canon physics.

Problem 1 with real physics: Why exactly are the blasts given off by the mass relays flat and expand along the galactic disk? That would only happend if the blasts were actually emitted that way, but considering the angles there is no way how they would cover the entire "height" of the galactic disk if they originated in a disk shape from one point.

Problem 2 with real physics: Shockwaves of any sort cannot travel faster than light. The expanding pulses from the relays on the galactic scale we can see would be a time lapse of tens of thousands of years

And that leads to problem 1 with canon physics: Technically, seeing a shockwave, Joker would be stupid to go for the mass relay. Mass relays create a mass-free corridor at which FTL is possible between them and their connected relays. Therefore, any ship would have a much better chance outrunning a shockwave using its drive core-powered FTL propulsion. Even if Joker hadn't known that the space magic is magically faster than light, everything he would know as a pilot would tell him that the mass relay would actually allow the shockwave to catch up with him, not help him escape.

Problem 3 with real physics: Just look at how rapidly the shockwaves expand and how short the time is between the beam hitting the relay and the following explosion. The waves cover thousands of lightyears per second. I'd like to know how Joker managed to respond to that in time when he saw the beam going from the Citadel to the Charon relay, decide to pick up the ground team, turn around, and reach the relay before it blew.

The ending doesn't make any sense at all."

Well said :)

So PSN, Origin, and Amazon are really taking full refunds? That's pretty cool. Not sure how many will take them up on it, but it's definitely added pressure on BW/EA. Strong work every one.

I don't really understand how some people don't see the flaws of the endings. If you can get past the "I didn't have a problem with the endings", one thing in inescapable: the fact that we were promised totally different endings depending on all the choices we made through all the games!!!

But the endings are the same no matter you killed lots of different important characters, or if you left them alive, for example. No matter what you did, the endings presented to your character are the same.

The only thing that gives you a slightly different end is playing multiplayer or not.

What is being complained, ultimately, is not just about the endings being good or bad. Is that all the decisions you made up to ME3, and during that game, didn't matter at all!!!

Some people just can't get past the "I liked the melancholic style of the end. It fits". It's not about that! It's about taking all our choices into account. Otherwise, it's just another shooter where you kill your way up to some endings.

It reminds me of small choices in action games, like "Jedi Academy". No matter what you did before, you would get to the choice of becoming a Dark Jedi or not. It was the only choice throughout the game. But that was OK. I was never promised a game with dialogues and choices. But it was not the case with ME.

People really need to get over the "I liked it" and see the real issue. The ending does NOT take into account the hundreds of choices you made before!!!

Guys, it has come to my attention that Ken Levine is sad over this
fan outcry that is us.
Here is the link to the article.
After finishing reading that article, I sent Mr. Levine our official mission statement,
our reasons for organizing this movement and also a rational dissection of the endings
which are in question.
Please send letters or messages explaining our rationale behind our reasons,
as Mr. Levine is probably one of the most creative minds of the present day,
and if we show him the reason,
I hope we can alleviate his discontent with the situation.

Thank you.

After nearly 24 hours of holding the line, I think it's time I head to bed... I'll be back on somewhere around 1800 to 2000 Pacific Time... so yeah, night all... or should that be good afternoon?

I think they aren't informed and diddn't saw all the "other" endings. Perhaps they think that the ending they got happened because of their choices.

You know, for me, the biggest takeaway from all of this has been the realization of just how very broken games "journalism" is. I mean, first you had universally glowing reviews based on advance copies. Then you had gamer outcry... and more glowing reviews. Then you had reaction to gamer outcry, calling us all entitled whiners. And more glowing reviews, along with criticisms of those who bought the game, didn't like the ending, and provided low review scores on Metacritic and Amazon.

Incredible. The disconnect between gamers and gaming media is... vast. Even with the Penny Arcade Report, which is supposed to be different. Either there are incredible differences between gamers and gaming journalists, or there is serious money involved. In either case, the ending fiasco has made clear that games journalism is an absolute joke.

As ive mentioned many pages before (lol) the people that "liked" the ending have in no way invested as much time as us.
Though i can not speak for all of you, i do tend to believe that most have spend over 100's of hours per saga.
I myself have 7 playthroughs on ME1 and 11 on ME2, however one on ME3 lol.
People that dont have similair numbers/time on the ME series dont share the connection we have with it, thus making them care less and accept more.
We on the other hand have connected with the series, care for it, and thus find the ending insulting to both Mass Effect and what Bioware stands for.
