Bioware is fully aware of how just those endings will upset people.

The vids that have leaked have no context other than the obvious relay explosions (and the normandy blowing up in only one of the vids ).

It's too early for me to render the judgment with only this much intel.  I'm holding out till the 6th.
Then I'll decide.  If these are the only endings than I'll forgo purchase.  If not, and there is a not so dark ending, I'll purchase.

Check the poll.  If they did half *** it these numbers should have been perdicted by BW/EA.
http://social.biowar...59/polls/28861/

I hoping that this is just a case of pre-war nerves.
If not I'll rage later.

It's gonna be ok.  It's gonna be ok.  It's gonna be ok.  It's gonna be ok.  It's gonna be ok.  It's gonna be ok.

I posted the endings earlier. Each one Shepard tells the Normandy crew to leave. Regardless of your choice to destroy synthetics(reapers, EDI, Geth), assuming control(being absorbed as an AI), or merging synthetics and organics, the relays are destroyed. The Normandy is caught in the subsequent explosion(what is shown in the videos) trying to escape and they are stranded. In controlling or merging Shepard is destroyed. When destroying the synthetics you have a chance to live. These are your three endings(two of which have small variations). That's it.

No offense, but I'm going to lie to myself and state: You sir, are a liar.

Taken directly from a person who has played and finished the game.

I wish you would. According to the law YOUR product must meet your advertizing standard. In the real world business get splashed for selling products that don't live up to their claim.

(laughs)

Companies hype up their product all the time. Do you really think the video game industry is any different? And what, exactly, are they "lying" about? Spin is spin. If they said, "It's the end of Shepard's story," that is technically true.

You don't have a basis to sue a company for hyping a product that you didn't like unless it caused demonstrable harm to you and/or other people. "Baw-baw, I don't like the ending because the crew is separated" is not an excuse.

i was hoping you would have the choice to sit down with the reaper boss and smoke a doob, drink some glen levit , and talk about the evolution of music on earth in the 21st century. I mean how could they want to destry us when they can get stoned and listen to bob marley.

unrealisic bull****.

Glen Levit is over-rated.  And Bob Marley's only good song is "Go Tell it on the mountain"
I prefer Gentleman Jack and Amon Amarth.

This painfully reminds me of the BS Galactica ending, where they found a colony and forsake that little technology they still had in the end on their few colony ships. Most fans were quite pissed about that kind of ending. I wish Bioware writers were aware of that.

Never played Halo 3 but I know about it and how it disappointed many.  Still, the series came out with ODST which I heard some good about and Halo: Reach which I played (my first Halo game since Halo 2) and very much enjoyed (and it had a "bittersweet" ending given that Reach is lost and you know it's going to happen)  and now Halo 4 is in the works so who knows...

There's a lot Mass Effect can come out with.    A First Contact War game.  A MMO.  A post- Shepard game.... lots of possibilities.  BW/EA have a hit/money maker with Mass Effect.  They're not done with it yet, bank on it.

I'm re-posting this, only to lend some measure of reason between the "yays" and "nays" running rampant in this thread:

Nope. From everything we've seen in the spoilers group, and on this particular sub-forum, there is no "good" ending for Shepard or his crew-mates, or the the galaxy itself. However, in light of a few developer interviews that have cropped up today, I do ask myself about the connotations of his playthrough. I'm still uncertain what the variables in his story were, or if he was even playing with an ME1/ME2 import. If so, you also have to take into consideration whatever choices he made throughout ME1 and ME2; those may have spelled his doom. We still don't know how deeply choices affect the game throughout. All of this information is purely hearsay and extrapolation, gleaned from data-mines (alleged and otherwise) and two people, one of which hails from a forum renowned for trolls. I don't dismiss it entirely, however I don't wholly buy it either. There's too many conflicts between various sources. I'm still preparing myself for the worst, but also keeping my fingers crossed for the best.

The only proof we have about our source on the forum is that he owns the game, and that these endings are real--though not necessarily the only ones. There was no .bink file of the Normandy crash-landing on the alien planet, though it likely exists as an in-game cutscene. That said, so could several others. There is, after all, a .bink file of Shepard lying in rubble motionless, and then suddenly beginning to breathe. Something 'good' may follow that scene in-game.

Of course, I'm likely just grasping straws. Trying to stay semi-optimistic, so I at least finish a run. All I can say is, we'll find out definitively State-side on March 6th.

Call me an optimist, but the more this fiasco grows, the more I'm questioning things. There's only two sources insofar (that I know of, as I don't frequent torrent sites). One was verified to own it, but the other, although having allegedly proven he was a game-tester (I wasn't around when he initially leaked the information), comes from a forum renowned for their trolling. Honestly, I'm having fits on who to believe.

That ending was nowhere near this ending.  I wasn't pissed about it, and I haven't met anyone that really was.  In fact, I hear quite often it called one of the best endings.  This reminds me of Halo 3, where all the aliens are stranded and apparently want to build some frelling utopia or something.

You must not have played Alpha Protocol. ;)

But even without bugs...every Obsidian Game suffers from a ton of possibility with only mediocre implementation. Still good games though. For the most part.

I HAVE played it, quite extensively, and I've encountered no bugs.

Lucky you. Most reports at launch indicated otherwise. So did my own few playthroughs. :P

Obsidian?  Don't even get me started on Fallout New Vegas!  LOL!  The game was tons of fun but based on the Bethesda engine from Fallout 3, it had a few... issues!  LOL!!!

Fallout New Vegas was the best rpg game I have yet played.

Emotional engaging companion each with clever rich backstory and personal quest.
A HUGE NUMBER OF CHOICES that actually effect the end and other sidequest and factions.

Like the NCR join them, like the legion join them, like Mr. House support him, Hate everyone fu.ck them all you can rule Vegas yourself.

Each choice effects every thing else.

Why can't BW make something like that. Obsidian is much smaller than Bioware and yet they make a better game.

Ánd don't get me started on the DLC all them are perfectly written with a rich backstory ending in Lonesome Road,

I don't think they're going to end either.  Someone said that if there is another game, it will be set in the past.  I highly doubt that.  Fans will want to move forward.  We'll want to know what happened after.  I just don't believe we have all the context to what actually has happened. I don't care what people say.

I liked the reputation score with all the factions.  Literally over a dozen groups and your relationship with all of them effect the game somehow.  THAT was really well done... not just you're good or bad.

And Fisto... my legs are still numb.  LOL!!!!

Not its not, if there isn't any character progression/story progression dialogue to speak with them about they go into auto dialogue.

The only difference is you don't get a dialogue wheel, pick the option "Wanna talk?", they say no, you say goodbye.

This way instead of wasting your time they just don't enter the dialogue wheel, Shep says something, they make comments about what is going on in the story atm, and then Shep leaves.  Its handled much better imo.

Yeah, until I play the game myself and have full and complete context, not silent videos, nothing is proven.  There are too many inconsistencies here.  I'm not in denial, I'm just not jumping to frelling conclusions because of some silent videos online.
