I am beginning to wonder, also, why Bioware is being so secretive when it comes to explaining the existing ending. I mean...it's there, most of their player base has seen it...why is an official explanation a big deal?
Good question, especially since an explanation might appease quite a few people.
Semi-educated guesses;
1; They could be waiting for the official sales figures for the second week to come out. The UK figures released today show a 75% drop in sales for ME3, they may well be waiting for the offical figures for other countries before deciding if they need to act.
2; They might be waiting for a more opportune moment before doing or saying anything that might affect EA's stock price with investors.
3; They could just still be crunching the numbers, to try and work out a way to sort the problem out. Do remember that it is only 2 weeks since the games release in the US, and the call for a change to the games ending has moved at such a rapid pace their PR department has clearly been taken off-guard to the point that they appear to be having trouble dealing with the situation - each time they have tried it has backfired...often in less than an hour.
4; They almost certainly are hoping that we will all lose interest and forget about the whole thing. So not commiting themselves at this point is probably understandable.
5; Do expect attempts to paint us in a bad light through attempts to flame us, or by people claiming to be part of the call for a change - we already had that on the BBC comments section when someone basically accused us of being terrorists. Also expect attempts to distract us with 'freebies'. They did this with DA2 by offering ME2 for free, here I wouldn't be too surprised to find them offering DA2 or some of its DLC to registered ME3 owners.
