From what I've read she simply toyed with the idea... her original intention was always to have him live I thought.

Either way, his death would have been appropriate(even I did want to see him with Ginny ;) ). Unlike Shepards... it didn't feel heroic at all.

However 100 will get you 1 that if she had killed him off she'd have given everyone lots of lovely closure and told people what happened after his sacrifice and what it meant and how his friends remembered him etc.

Ken Levine: "Just as J.K. Rowling can end her books and say that is the end of Harry Potter. I don't think she should be forced to make another one."

>.> Yeah but Ms. Rowling didn't write and ending that sucked big times and ignored us all.

äh, ms. rowling did want to kill harry potter at the end of her books!

guess why she didnt, people told her, that it wouldnt work that way and that fans most possibly wont like it!

Exactly. Harry's "death" scene was a quintessential representation of someone standing for their beliefs and standards even in the face of imminent death--something that the ME3 ending reneged on.

+42.  Because +1 just didn't give this enough meaning, unlike life ;)

Laugh all you like, I actually managed to get my Mako to flip upsidedown on a flat surface and stay that way indefinitely.

That happened to me all the time. I remember on Feros - I would be driving and firing the cannon, completely forget how close to the edge I was and just fall off.

Or I just drove off since I was the worst Mako driver in existance. Literally, I had to restart like ten time before I managed to drive in a straight line and not hit a Colussus and fall off the edge again.

I'm not talking about falling off ledges, I'm talking about the mako being on a completely flat surface, upsidedown and unable to right itself.

So guys, do you think that the Normandy crew used FTL to get back to earth and tell everybody about the new planet they found and everybody emigrated to that planet for a fresh new start?
Too optimistic or am i missing something?

Did they make a space raft out of the trees there? Cause the Normandy was clearly wrecked. Its possible they landed on an inhabitted planet, but who is to say. We don't even know how they got into the mess they're in. Aren't there people who died in the last mission sometimes on the ship? Nothing seems to make sense

Yeah, true... i was trying to make sense of it all and trying to speculate (but even when i speculate it makes no sense, good going bioware)  So yeah... it was just a thought. Total fail but worth a try.

Aww. Sorry :( I wasn't trying to make you feel bad. I'm doing the same thing. Here's something to cheer you up >_<

Like that planet with a prothean relic, where you could activate a trincket from consort. I half-cried every time I landed there.

I am beginning to wonder, also, why Bioware is being so secretive when it comes to explaining the existing ending. I mean...it's there, most of their player base has seen it...why is an official explanation a big deal?

Good question, especially since an explanation might appease quite a few people.

They are in a tricky situation and don't want to make a statement that will backfire and incite more people. They are going to examine every possible outcome to anything they might say. They have to be careful, the ice their standing on is already precariously thin.

Norwegian fleet is retiring for today.

It's been a good day even though we didn't get anything usefull out of Bioware.
The BBC article and the issue with Amazon accepting refounds is gonna help alot.
But I still think it's kinda sad about the refounds... If Bioware doesn't do something soon, they will lose the opportunity to fix this at all.

Anyway looking forward to the updates tomorrow, hold the line!

Benirus out.

Regardless of what happens, I'm proud of the Retake movement for taking a stand and donating to a good cause. It's been frustrating as hell trying to get answers, but these last few weeks on the forums have been pretty awesome to watch.

They've been marginalizing us all along. Casey Hudson described us as only the "most passionate fans."

I just finished me1 again (started a new playthrough in anticipation of 3 and was going to ilos, I could not have played it otherwise). In the last fight against saren, he says that sovereign upgraded him. He said he was a union of man and machine (sounds like synthesis) and the future of evolution. Shepard then basically calls him an idiot.

Not only are the endings riddled with plotholes one is a direct contradiction to what happened in previous games.

Your better then that BW

Not to mention just before the end of ME3 you tell TIM he cant controll the reapers.. That leaves only destroy as an option Shepard hasnt already rejected, but that comes with a pinch of genocide:blink:

This is actually what a lot of us are hoping for.

They are indications that the choices presented to you at the end are false, Godboi is full of horse hooey, the bit about "and you kill all the Geth and die" is a flat-out lie, and you're meant to reject all this nonsense and do what you came here to do: destroy the Reapers and have a kick-ass fleet at your back while you do it.

IF that's the case, "destroy the mass relays" is still ridiculous, and hopefully just part of the nightmare.

I've ranted enough about how much metagaming is needed to come to this conclusion, so <shakefist>.

Really? I had hours of fun trying to get my Mako up a 1000% gradient, zigzagging etc. Then blasting off and seeng the damage from the impact. I never managed to actually blow my mako up with fall damage but I got quite close....

...yeah, I think I just described a majority of my evenings. :crying:

Please people don't ask them to defend the ending inteligently. You might just be asking them to get someone to do it. Hell if I REALLY wanted to I could make a semi convincing argument on the symbolism of the ending.

Symbolism of course being a very loosely held concept that is more malleable than jelly when it comes to interpretation.

That would hurt the movement alot more than anything on twitter

Good question, especially since an explanation might appease quite a few people.

Semi-educated guesses;

1; They could be waiting for the official sales figures for the second week to come out. The UK figures released today show a 75% drop in sales for ME3, they may well be waiting for the offical figures for other countries before deciding if they need to act.

2; They might be waiting for a more opportune moment before doing or saying anything that might affect EA's stock price with investors.

3; They could just still be crunching the numbers, to try and work out a way to sort the problem out. Do remember that it is only 2 weeks since the games release in the US, and the call for a change to the games ending has moved at such a rapid pace their PR department has clearly been taken off-guard to the point that they appear to be having trouble dealing with the situation - each time they have tried it has backfired...often in less than an hour.

4; They almost certainly are hoping that we will all lose interest and forget about the whole thing. So not commiting themselves at this point is probably understandable.

5; Do expect attempts to paint us in a bad light through attempts to flame us, or by people claiming to be part of the call for a change - we already had that on the BBC comments section when someone basically accused us of being terrorists. Also expect attempts to distract us with 'freebies'. They did this with DA2 by offering ME2 for free, here I wouldn't be too surprised to find them offering DA2 or some of its DLC to registered ME3 owners.
