I assure you everyone of those individuals has a passion. And given the chance that the ones in charge of that passion screw up they would be up in arms doing the same as us. Disregard them as hypocrites and fools who dont see their own passion in ours.

My friend just bought ME3 he never played any of them, and he laughed at me for arguing about the game. Yet he would die for Gears of War. I told him, what if Epic had made everyone die at the very end of Gears and none of your struggle mattered in the end?.
Right then he shut up and never mentioned it again.

Remember, everyone: mail is slow. The letter writing campaign probably won't have an impact until the end of the week.

Ahh, I can almost picture the scene...

*Bioware HQ*

Sir, we just got the first mail. Here is the letters thanking us for the best game in history. *Hands over Three sheets of writing paper, written in blue, green and red crayon respectively*

That's good, very good. What about the negative letters?

Well, if you look out of the window at the line of dump trucks....

I refuse to let this game spoil my entire game enjoyment paradigm. I have very little else in my life right now except games. With such a great series in my possession, I will not let the deformed brainchild of a late night scribblethon ruin what I have.

As was advertised at the very beginning of the series "Many decisions lie ahead, none of them easy." Well, we made those difficult decisions. If they had said "And in the end it won't really matter" then somehow I don't think this series would have sold nearly as well. If this was the plan from the word go, then the reason they never hinted at it was because they knew that it wouldn't sell. Instead we got hooked on the ideal of hope that spanned the first two series, and then when we would pay through the nose to get the ending we all thought was coming, they dropped down and gave us a punch that we will never forget.

What we have been given is a blow delivered below the belt. It is c.ock of the poppyest variety. If this is what was intended from the outset then not only have BioWare failed us, they have failed themselves. And if it was a last minute decision instead during the final installment of the trilogy then the result is still exactly the same. Whether you see it as betraying the fans, or selling out the series, this was cheap. It looks cheap, it feels cheap and it plays cheap. If it were a West End Musical it wouldn't last a week.

So I am retaking Mass Effect. I am retaking my wasted hours and putting them back to good use. Everything I stood for and fought for with my Shepards has had meaning. Every choice has had an effect. Every action has had a purpose. I am taking this series out of their hands and putting it back into my own, where it will be treated with the reverence it deserves. I defy BioWare, and I deny that abortion of an ending that they have force-fed us like geese.

Mass Effect is mine. Mass Effect is yours. It is ours, but it is no longer theirs. It ceased to belong to them when we fell in love with it and made it our own in our minds. That is the Mass Effect that they can never take away from you. Your journey with your team mates is real, and it mattered. You saved the galaxy from countless threats and don't let them fool you otherwise. Everything you did had a result, it helped shape you as you shaped the story we all lived together, but on our own.

Mass Effect does not stop here, and it will never stop here. I will not let them take it from me. I and my Shepard stand side by side. There is always another way and nothing that they can say can make us believe otherwise. I am going back to the source, and I am going to take back the joy which kept me going for the past four years. If I cannot do this then I will have let them ruin it for me, I will have given up and I will have abandoned my Shepard just as badly as they have.

This is why I am here. This is why I hold the line. And I'm damned if I'm moving until I've got some answers.

Great posy Xy. I admire you but I think it will be a while longer til' I can get around to playing the games again.

So, that being the case, I have to ask....Why all the hostility? We (there are always a few rotten eggs) don't abuse or fight people with other opinions or attack BW...so why is it that so many feel the need to abuse us?

Easy.  A lot of the media coverage tends to point out that we dislike the endings because they are "sad".    When you pair that up with PR talk about "minority", "most vocal", "most passionate" fans....it does make us look like we are skipping highschool to hold this line.

Because they ar Sith, therefore they deal in absolutes. If you didn't love the game and you don't support them, you are against them. And they will do everything in their power to destroy you...

We have been called many things, from spoiled children, to haters, to unemployed, and some other less civil names as well. But are you pointed out, all they do is to offend us, and they do so indirectly, since none of these comments were made of can be linked back to Bioware itself...

They are just ignoring us whether they pretend to listen or not, hoping that we will go away, and all of this will be nothing but a bad dream for them..

So little do they know. We are not going away, we are not few...

I just sent a mail to a project manager at Child's Play, asking for a statement or anything like that. They haven't published anything on their site or on twitter. It would be really awesome if we had an article directly from them to give to the press or show Bioware.

They were founded by the guy who doesn't like the movement at Penny Arcade lol.

Though, yeah, you would think almost 1/10th of their annual income last year in a week would make them a bit more receptive to helping us out :P

Did the same, but I just bought ME1 (used) to try and play through the trilogy one more time. I'm hoping by the time I get through ME2 we'll have an answer on whether or not they'll fix our crapshoot of an ending. I'm going to take my time getting through it. If they don't plan to, well my future paragon vanguard (always paragon, always vanguard, always Tali) will never reach ME3 :(

I believe they made 3.5 million USD last year. A little financial injection like this one shouldn't stay unnoticed. I'm sure they are aware of what we are doing ;) the thing is: I'd just like to be recognized. Officially.

RetakeME3 managed to hit 75k in a week.  a WEEK.

Congrats to all.

I dont see why so many people are against the changes to the ending. Bioware made promises they didnt keep. If I order a new pc and it doesnt meet the specifications then yes im gonna ask them to take it back and give me what I bought.

Too many of these so called journalists arnt even investigating the issues at hand. We need to get a website up and running covering all these issues. Web designers its time to step up.

just my 2 cents.

OUR CHOICES SHOULD MATTER. HOLD THE LINE.

I thought I should mention that I've tried to start playing through the game with my renegade male Shep but as I've gotten nearer to the end the will to keep playing has really been hard to find. Also I've noticed that some choices which I expected to have big implications (such as the rachni) have been rather small, to the point of almost being the same.
