Just an observation, if someone would have told me a year ago that a week after I had first completed ME3 I would still have not mustered the strength for a second playthrough and would have spent more time camping on these boards I would never have believed them... :/

Around a year ago, I was upset that they were pushing back the release from Holiday 2011 to March 2012. Knowing the rush job that the endings seem to be, I wish they would have "disappointed" me some more and pushed back the release further. And like you said, now instead of playing, we're holding the line.

Tried to replay ME3 today.... it just didn't have the same emotional impact as the first time I went through it. Every story I've been attached to has always got me riled up all over again when I reread or replay them.... all except Mass Effect 3 :(. It all rings so hollow, talking about the end of the war in the first half of the game with Garrus.... Primarch Vakarius... right..

Really hope something comes out of PAX, so I can get back into my favorite sci-fi universe again.

If they had told me that the day before I got the game, I would have laughed at them.

Btw, I'm writing a research paper here and every single website I go to has a ME3 ad on the side...:crying:

Yeah I've noticed their ad budget has appeared to quadruple this last week.  AMC was saturated with ME3 ads.

Not sure if somebody posted this here. Sorry if repost but this thread moves too quickly :P.

I personaly find it hilarious. We say that they puled LOST on us but just look at Damon Lindelof's tweet

Yes, just another hugh plot hole. Do ya'll remember what the reaper said in his dying moments?

I'll bite, what did it say again?

Also to whoever upthread was wondering why BioWare chose to use the kid as a symbol of everyone Shepard can't save instead of the dead Ashley or Kaiden... I have no idea.  Holy crap, they already had those voice actors in studio, why not milk that for all it was worth?

I would have been way more emotionally impacted with Ash as the main focus of those nightmares rather than ghost boy.

Ah well... it was still a great way to show the mental impact of everything weighing on Shepard.  I guess that's the one good thing about the endings.  There might just be enough WTF material to continue discussing them for two more weeks until we get an answer one way or the other.

He alluded in the Ranock death scene that the Quarian's and Geth could not live together basically. Actually it was a lot more in a few words. Of course, if you play it with enough conversation points, shepard does accomplish this. This concept was blown in the end. This leads me to suspect that the ending concept was not clearly defined when this was written. To get all of it. I would have to go back and replay it which I refuse at this time. But we already know all the plot falls into a hole at the ending.

Remember its the journey and not the destination! Yeah, tell that to the Donner Party. Because they were making such good time right up until the end.

The aliens had years of mass effect usage, if they can build a proth device they can build another mass effect slingshot

Dunno if this was allready posted, but Chris Priestly tweeted:
Tomorrow we'll reveal more PAX East plans. 2 panels already announced, but details on the BioWare base room, who's coming and more

I wonder what they come up with.

Same here.

ME1 and ME2 I immediately started a second playthrough within minutes of finishint the game. I was so excited about the awesome story I wanted to experience more.

Since I finished ME3 I haven't even launched the game a single time.

I get it too. Those damn tracking cookies! :D But I am not going to stop visiting this site to get the ads to go away. No matter how much they try to tempt me into playing again, it won't work. ;)

Look at it this way folks. If you play through ME2 again, you can let everyone die in the suicide mission...no need to keep them alive, probably more of a mercy to put them out of their misery early on now xD lol

any news the last 4h?

The bioware wants to make you wait 2 weeks at least before they have any news of the ending post intended to demoralize us, and get us to let up on the pressure.

Hold the line, because space magic..... seriously.....:wizard:

I'm actually curious to see what Yatzhee(Zero Punctuation) over on the Escapist will say about this. Sure he's a troll and he's against 'hearts and rainbow' ending in games, but he's also a game writer himself. The ending of Mass Effect 3 was simply badly written. I really want him to lay waste to it!
Here's hoping, eh?

Still holding the line, if only for a quick bit this evening...I'm sure every one was worried I'd cracked and given in to the huge temptation to be utterly shattered by disappointment again. Fret not, I remain loyal and true. Are we still waiting for an announcement of an announcement, or has the "two weeks" things held fast all day?

I refuse to let this game spoil my entire game enjoyment paradigm.

So I am retaking Mass Effect.

So, I am also taking my Shepard back.

This is one of the reasons I am now Holding The Line.  =>

In the process of retaking my enjoyment paradigm, I blew myself up at the eden prime mission forgetting the bombs were on a timer and checking BSN for new posts.

Back to the line, I guess!  XD

I can just see Alliance Command now..
"What happened?"
"She appears to have had an 'ooh butterfly' moment"
"Shame.. I really saw her as the saviour of the galaxy from a yet unseen threat" "
"She's no Marauder Shields"
"What?"
"Hmm? Didn't say anything"
"oh... okay"

Except no one knew how they worked, what they were made out of, etc.
Building a prothean device was tough and THEY HAD BLUEPRINTS.
The "slingshots" were a Reaper construct, waaaay beyond anything anyone could ever understand.
