I think the problem with that article is that the guy says "No matter what kind of ENDING Bioware supplied". That's just it, despite the slight variations, it was all just one ending. It should have been multiple endings. That would have reduced the chances of someone hating it... It should not have ended the same for every single player like it did. It goes against everything Mass Effect was and everything we were promised.
This ^^

You can, however, satisfy a majority or at the very least half of your fan base rather than a tenth. Claiming that any potential ending change is ultimately fruitless because someone somewhere will still cling to their own particular interpretation of how things should have played out (in agonizing detail, right down to the last minute intervention of Blasto on the Citadel, etc.) is, in the case of these publications, down right faulty logic.
Addressing the issues at hand is all we're asking for. Personally, I don't see the harm in a happy ending. Why shouldn't there be an available happy ending? It's cliche? This twist ending is cliche! The absence of a happy ending to fit some arbitrary mold for an epic is just as mundane and pedantic as the much vaunted medal ceremony type finale.
And on top of that, THAT assumes that a "medal ceremony" is even possible. Billions of people have died. Galactic civilization has been turned on its ear. Then on its face. Then thrown into the sun. A "true" happy ending isn't possible in those circumstances...however...letting Shepard live and get with his/her LI is some small consolation.
I'm not arguing for that particular outcome, mind, I'm just tired of all the nonsense about it being "impossible."
Anyway...hold the line and all that. Amazed you folks are still carrying on with this. Kudos for the dedication.

Seriously, i cant sleep good at night anymore.. It`s all i think about, the game, it`s like a nightmare were my choices are gone and the reapers win:( NOT suppose to be like this.....!
*hugs* know the feeling, I spend hours thinking about the ending and about all the good stuff before it. it takes me hours to sleep, and when I do I have weird reaper/god child dreams (nightmares is more accurate)

"I underestimated, way underestimated, the impact the story was going to have on people," he said. "I didn't realize it would change people's perspective on what to expect from gameplay." Levine said that when writing a story, deep down he never really expect people to pay attention to it. "I didn't think they became that invested in what was going on," he said. In BioShock "you have this great mystery of your own identity and once it is solved the story is over. I think it was a miscalculation on my part."

I know she means well, but it does leave a gnawing sensation, does that mean BW wont care about the 90% that silently consumes? if they are silent they all just apparantly like the ending or something?
I for instance never used these forums untill now, doesnt mean i loved DA:2's ending

That song was about to reach number one in number of plays on all my music ...
Still an epic song but can't shake off the memory of that ending when I think about listening to it now.

Finished playing all 3 games(inc all dlc) on the bounce 3 days ago, was looking foward to multiple play throughs right up to the end..........
Now I dont want to, "The Ending" has made the whole trillogy unplayable to me, I mean whats the point in playing when you cant win? for example- even if you are alive your friends and LI are lost in space, the mass relays are gone(so there is no way to find them) and the gallactic comunity will fall apart with possibly mass starvation and plague.(Not to mention plot holes/ charactor assinations/ and random changes to the lore of the ME galaxcy) that all adds up to " Thanks for playing/paying you LOSE "
Not only have i lost faith with bioware ( been with them since kotor), im now strugling to play any game I cant get myself to care
Thanks alot for that bioware
