First - I'm trying to get ahold of Julia Hardy - she holds the game review tv program on challenge - to get her thoughts; present our side. Its on sats midnight - really is actually a good gamer show. She's a passionate gamer also.

With all this negative media attention, can Bioware/EA really afford to hold out much longer?

You would think not, but they don't seem to be in a hurry to do anything for some reason.

 Dear Bioware
The ending to me3 was terrible. Please stop trying argue that there are no problems with it or that people should just accept your work as art that your discretion is sovereign over.
I loved the whole of the series except for the ending, you are really amazingly talented story tellers and have produced something which but for the last 10 minutes is compelling and engrossing. I think it's the best written game I have ever played in my 20 years gaming. You guys must be able to understand the issues that people are raising with how you ended it; based on your previous work you're too smart not to.
The thing that sets the mass effect series apart from the pack is the degree that you have allowed the player to chose their own path. Your ending completely robs them of that. It does exactly what you have said it wouldn't do, see the ending a, b and c quote from Casey Hudson. Everyone who is unhappy with the ending probably wants it to be something unique and you're never going to please everyone. But you need to realise most people, even though being upset if they can't get exactly what they want, would at least respect the endings if they made sense and reflected what their Shepard accomplished over the series. Personally, I could have been happy with a situation where Shepard could not be saved but you let us chose what he/she sacrificed for and how it effected the galaxy.
No one can force you to change anything and probably nothing the retake movement does will hit your bottom line in a way you will feel it. But this shouldn't be about that. If you leave things like this it is going to follow you and your creation around for as long as people talk or think about it. Rose coloured nostalgia does not gloss over incidents that provoke such a strong response see Tiger Woods, Bill Clinton, Mel Gibson etc. Those guys did a lot of good things but that's not all they're known for.
You are better than this and you have an opportunity to make it right.
Do the right thing.

Vin Diesel is on my 'exceptions' list. As in, your spouse says you can cheat on him with the guy as long as he can sleep with Salma Hayek should the opportunity present itself... seriously, that voice. Dang. :o

This whole standoff situation is starting to give me silly images like devs standing behind a cartoon brick wall peering over it occasionally. "Did they go away yet? Is it safe to come out?" "No, they're still here! Get down!"

GOOD MORRNING FELLOW LINE HOLDERS!!!!

Any news to tell?

Jessica Merizan is over in the "EA/Bioware in Full PR Damage Control Mode" thread saying a lot of nice things while also saying exactly nothing. She seems like a nice enough person, but all she really seems to be doing is chucking platitudes at us without even an announcement on when there will be an announcement on what's going on with the ending. A nice, but flat gesture. IMO.

Yeah but these things dont happan over night. There is a shed load of stuff that needs to be taken in to acount. Everyone wanting them to say now that they will do an ending dont seem to understand that its not just about what they want, or what we want. The bigwigs at EA have to get together and confirm its ok, then the bigwigs from bioware have to do the same, then the budget and employment issues have to be a factor.

Dont lose heart, it'll take months not weeks to get this arranged. I'd rather wait longer in silence than them coming out the day after opening and say we will defo do an ending DLC just to be told by their higher ups that they are unable to do one.

Would'nt you?

Now that some of the dust settled I had some time to think about the ending and you know what ? It still blows. I think Mr Hudson said something about ultimate sacrifice and that ME is just about that. So what happens at the end? We broke the cycle... and destroyed the galactic community in the process. Seriously who the hell came up with the idea of Mass Relays being destroyed. Why save the galaxy if you ultimately f***d up everyone living in it. Future generations? There wont be any future generations. There could be i guess some new lifeforms evolving and taking to the stars, oblivious to the fact that there was a Great War and trillions gave up their lives to save some undeveloped furry mice or whatever. In time they will create their own AI nemesis and the story begins anew. A new freaking cycle.

My point being. Shep may die. Lots of friends may die. Galaxy can mostly burn and suffer. But mass relays have to stay intact, and the survivors have to remember! If we sacrifice ourselves it has to be for something.

It seems BW thought it would be great for Shep and the rest of the galaxy to sacrifice everything for this puny little lifeforms on some forgotten world to survive....
...and Reapers would leave this lifeform be anyway.

Sorry for that, had to blow off some steam :)

I'll keep holding the line and ill be here till only my ship is left and goes down in flames!

Yup. To be fair, she has tweeted at some point something along the lines of that they won't comment officially until they're ready. This is something they'll have to handle very carefully, and although for a lot of us it feels like waiting forever, I think it's not unreasonable to afford them a little patience so they can get things right.
