Nice to finally hear something, even if it is as vague as ever and is still defensive of the ending with talks about how great the rest of the game is. On second thought, maybe not so nice.

They are very optimistic about waiting until April.

Not sure why, given what has already happened in just 2 weeks.

What I don't understand is, if this was the plan all along and they miscalcuated how long it would take for fans to catch on, why don't they just reevaluate their schedule? The excuse we keep getting is "wait for more people to finish the game", but by now everyone's heard of this ending mess. How could an announcement of Ending DLC possibly harm anyone's enjoyment of the game?
[/quote]

it would prove for 1, that they planned this to sell dlc, and the folks that were already peeved about the day 1 dlc would be further enraged....
now that wouldn't take away the enjoyment i'd get from the game, but it still has them looking shady.....

i don't know which a corp would rather be, slick and money grubbing or extremely poor at ending their games

In a nutshell, "we're still listening, stand by".
And also it seems from that post that the ending was supposed to be final. Their QA must be entirely useless or completely ignored, which consequently makes them entirely useless.

The reaction to the release of Mass Effect 3 has been unprecedented. On one hand, some of our loyal fans are passionately expressing their displeasure about how their game concluded; we care about this feedback, and we’re planning to directly address it. However, most folks appear to agree that the game as a whole is exceptional, with more than 75 critics giving it a perfect review score and a review average in the mid-90s. Net, I’m proud of the team, but we can and must always strive to do better.

Good news?

Just released, worth a read!

ALl these guys do is say hey the NEW YORK TIMES liked it and other critics liked it and even though it is objectively false that your decisions matter I'm going to repeat the company line. But don't worry, we're listening to you. It is just talking out of 2 sides of your mouth in order to satisfy everyone. We're not that stupid.

Oh....dear.

Answer questions? More clarity? Further closure?

That doesn't really sound like they're actually considering changing anything, tbh.  It sounds more like adding content which will justify the current endings as they stand.  Which is a problem for me.

I hope I'm wrong.

This looks hopeful. It is trying to be neutral, but seems to be in our favour. My only worry is that when he said about making DLC to answer the questions, he means more missions before the ending and not actual ending DLC.

I wonder if any of the other game publishers will seize the opportunity here to promote their games around ME3's failure.

Usually if you advertise your products, you focus on your products strong aspects, not the failure of another product. With that you involuntarily advertise for that product. You don't want that. If you do it at all, you have to be very, very, very sublte about it. But since somebody will always find out about it, you better eliminate the risk by not doing it at all.

I think I saw an advert by Samsung, comparing their new smartphone to the iPhone, showing all the advantages. Wouldn't exactly call that advertising for Apple products. :L

Ok, I've been very carfull with my words so far, but that is bull****.

It's like talking to a child... "Uh-uh, but everyone said we did good with the rest of the game so I don't really care"

He constantly deflects the criticism with pointing to the good thing "But hey, I know that last part was soulcrushing and made people clinicly depressed, but look at the total score! :wizard:"

Oh cmon people... We are going to start beeing childish now?

the man literally says they will adress the concerns about the ending in furture content. That's what we asked!

WE HAVE NOT YET WON!!!

Let not Mr. Muzyka distract us from holding up.

Stay civil and remember that this statement may only be directed to stall the things so their PR might do their job!!!

Meh. The usual PR-blabla. Even he is speaking of "some" fans but mentions the "extremly" high ratings of some magazins.
Bollocks.

"Tell your friends ifyou feel it’s a good game as a whole". And who didn't like it has to keep quit? Jeez.

Most important sentence for me:

"You’ll hear more on this in April"

i have a loooooong winded complicated idea about TIM, anderson, indoctrination, the rachni, the reapers, the geth and a few other things which WOULD make some sort of sense of why we got screwed over and are all being played for suckers.

has anyone ever thought about this, legion MIGHT have uploaded himself into shepards omni-tool, remember shepard as rebuilt so he has more tech inside him than anyone in the game (apart from EDi's hot hot hot sexy body), tali did say that there suits have enough processing power to support the geth programming.

shepard has enough processing power to ENTER the freaking geth construct which if you listen is only possible by shep, and how did legion get into the construct without being inside one of the pods or even attached by any means, he cant connect by wi-fi or he would have been detected, the same with any physical connection and during the mini cut scene where tali is reporting in you can clearly see legion moving and working, the only option is that legion has some how connected himself to shepard and has stayed with him for the rest of the game.

its JUST a smal theroy of mine BUT i MIGHT work if you actually think about it

People... stop complaining about him being vague please, he has to be in order to keep up with whatever they are planning, at least he's saying something, and what he says is positive news, i would call it a win at any day, its all we could ask for after getting the silent treatment for so long. Seriously take what you can get, stop being greedy.

Thanks Ray, you da man!

Still the same tactic used in all previous posts, identifying us as just "some players", saying their work is "art" (implying, I suppose, it shouldn't be changed) and praising their own work citing all the positive reviews.

Don't get your hopes too high people, we are still fighting, we didn't even won a battle.

Well, that sounds... positive. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting that.

Downside to this: They are still "taking feedback" even though we've all explained ten million times the plotholes, lore inconsistencies, and whatnot. Seems like a stalling tactic to not commit to anything. They're also waving the perfect "reviews" argument in our faces.

They also pulled out the "this game is art" argument, to which I say it is art, but it's like commissioned art. If you tell us something is gonna be part of the final piece, to your damndest to make it a part of the final piece. If you can't, change your statements to more accurately reflect what the final piece will be.

Upside: We'll get more info in April! Yay!

This is basically just "Please buy our stuff.. holy crap they're returning our stuff".   I feel for the dude but at the same time the choice to go with the ending they had was a business decision... and now everyone returning it is a business decision.. I'm pretty sure this is beyond the whole passionate phase.

I'm holding onto my game until I get a definitive answer or PAX East comes and goes without one.  Even if I just get store credit from Amazon that's no worse, and I'll probably pick up Witcher 2 uber ultimate edition or something.

I -like- Bioware.. I want Bioware to finish their game that they obviously didn't.  I feel bad for them... they had a top 99th percentile game, and, based off some bad calls, ruined the ending.. The irony is they could fix all this just by saying "Yeah we screwed up, we're going to fix it".   Instead they're burning money by being ambiguous.. Heck the US Government moves faster than this.. look at post 9/11 with the unprecedented terrorist attacks.  They passed the patriot act like a week later lol.

I don't see it this bad! I think what he says is true, not like anything we heard before. I see this as a statement which comes from heart.

And to the co-founder of BioWare: I know, dummie. This game deserves 90%+ ratings , as well as the best commercial success ever. You are right. The developers, story writers, voice actors, coffee fetchers and all involved in this piece of art deserve a medal. BUT the last 5-10minutes was like a slap in the face for me and everyone else. If you like to you can keep this ending, just give us some alternatives! ^_^
