I'd be ok if Shepard and the Normandy ended up together in some way.

But having the relays working and traveling the galaxy...? Very veeeery doubtful.

He interpreted wrong.

The game takes you back before the final battle to allow for future DLC playing.

No, you can't. BioWare hates you. The game hates you. Even Origin hates you. So they don't allow you to have the bunnies ending.

I'm really surprised at you guys. All that whining... what did you expect? We had two games to build up the idea of Reapers, a race who apparently cannot be defeated. What did you expect? Walt Disney, happy end, a Michael Bay-like "oh it's cool, we defeated them because we are cool, no sacrifices because we are cool boom-boom-kaboom" style of ending?

You're not playing the right game then.
Go play Sims.

It's late and I'm tired please excuse any typos.

I think we're being BioTrolled.  This is the franchise final huraah and all this drama is Bioware's way of screwing with us.  Choice was this all important thing in the first 2 games, and now they drop it?

Xio's statments are most likely true as the mods didn't ban him.  However, I think the space edition is purposeley incomplete.  Or Xio is a BioTool trying to fire (at least 75% of) us up.  Wasn't there something about an NDA.  Anyway the pics, vids, and personal accounts are definitly legit.  But there may be more to it that we're not being told..

Bioware knows where most of us would call foul.  This is too easy to pick apart and hate on.

This is too conveinient to have all this info pop up in the last 48 hours.

This is Bioware's way of getting their last laugh over us.

Well, Thats what I think.
Good Night and peace be with you all.

Except this only brings about angry fans. People have cancelled their pre-orders over this. It, as a marketing strategy, is moronic at best.

A handfull of cancelations doesn't compare to the 800,000 sum people who probably already paid in full and don't care enough about the story to rage-quit over this madness.  If the basis of this thread is proven false on the 6th, that handfull of people that did cancel will do a 180.  I would happily do so.

That's already been confirmed, one ending you can survive in epilogue.  No matter if you live or die though the game takes back right before the final battle to wander the galaxy for future DLC.

Your hope has been crushed, sorry.

**** it , If what you say is true , then curse BW , curse them all to hell .. they ruined everything :(:(

reputation is everything here. if BWs rep goes down the toilet then it might well be game over.

People are too invested in the franchise. If BW were seeing thousands upon thousands of preorder cancels , they would be all over this. the fact is, that most people will buy and finish the game no matter what.

208 pages on a forum mean zip, zero, nada to BW. It's the bank account that matters. It's an ok game, they will make thier money back and then some. no harm , no foul.

Folks will complain, but they won't do so with thier wallets, which is exactly what bioware knows is true. If you want proof.....go look at swtor. the game is a steaming pile of gosa, but folks still sub and play it, hoping for something better down the line. ME3 is no different. Nor are the folks who buy into it.

I would not be too certain about this. I don't post here that often (mostly lurking), but I know how I reacted after reading about the endings. I probably would not have been so quick to follow through with this, if I had not played Arrival. These leaked endings fit perfectly well with what annoyed me most about Arrival. No matter what you do as Shepard, you have not influence over the awful outcome. This seems to be the new Bioware theme (Dragon Age 2 anyone?), I think, they can go down this route without my custom.

I'd be perfectly fine if Shep and the Normady n crew had ended up together. Even if it was a grimdark ending. But the Forever alone BS is just that. BS. As it stands.. Even if I've met all the requirements for Shep to live. I'm picking the closest we can get to "The reapers win" as possible, if the current endings are all we get. Screw the rest of the Galaxy. Rocks Fall, Everyone dies.  That's exactly what the endings feel like to me.. a kick in the teeth and a big FU to all the loyal fans. Rocks Fall Everyone dies.

In my Mass Effect.. Reapers win.

I am thinking of a massive knee jerk reaction , A petition to boycott everything Bioware .. first there was DA2 , then ME3 !! if the company continues down this path they are sure to be ruined , this petition would be like an ominous sign for them to change course , and listen and care about their fan-base opinions .

Honestly speak... Petitions do nothing.  The only real way to force BW to take notice is by voting with our wallet.
If enough people cancel their Pre-Orders then BW might do something.

that wouldn't do anything. I told myself that after Dragon Age 2, that if mass effect 3 was not great that I just would not buy bioware games anymore. Thats all I can really do, and that is was would make the most effect.

If i really don't like me3, i can always sell it to game stop to take even more of their revinue.

Then a boycott EA petition until they go bankrupt would have a better effect for the future of gaming assuming lots of people join up and then don't go cowards until their money is out completely which is unlikely since so many don't care anyway.

I fully expected to have to watch as worlds I tried to save got destroyed and close friends got killed, thats life after all. But I can't except that Sheppard being seperated from the crew to live out her existence away form them is really fair. I have put in well over 150 hrs to ensure I have what I call a "perfect save". If this happens I might was well let Sheppard die in ME2 and let the glaxey sort itself out!!!!!!!:(

There was a petition and all that jazz for TOR and DA2. They don't care. Just stop buying their games. Biggest vote of all.

I'm going to wait and see for ME3 to see for myself if I like the game, because everything besides the ending sounds AMAZING. Then I will see If i like the ending.

They said there were no cliffhangers, what do they call the normandy being stranded with your squad? But this is also coming from the same team that prefers the term "default" to "canon". I was just getting excited for this game, and now they had to go and end it like this. It would have been better if your crew/LI died with you at the end of the game, not everyone gets separated and stranded for life.

Yes, because simple desire to allow Sheppard to stay with Normandy and it's crew, automaticaly makes such ending "Walt Disney, happy end, a Michael Bay-like".  Are you for real?  A lot of people are ok with heavy price for victory, with mass-relays go "boom!" or whatever. They are not  okay with forced and inevitable separation of protagonist and his friends. Sheppard deserves some personal happines, no?

Lol... I'd call that a knee-jerk reaction, but looks like I won't have to. That's like starting a pep-talk with "We're doomed".

What I don't get tought is why make that descision. Up until now BW as always made some pretty nice endings. Now ok, some might argue that a perfect ME2 run was pretty easy to do, but then again why would you be satisfied by such a ****ed up ending? If the game can be 40 hours long like the first reviews are saying, why reward such a time investement by this kind of ending?I can understand some people dying, even former squadmates but to **** up everything so bad is simply contrary to all people expectations.

There is no ending. Reapers won.

Is that true?

Goddamnit, what is the deal with people posting this same "what did you expect bunnies and rainbows and nobody dies" bs.No one wants a disney ending and we have clearly said that we are willing to accept the loss of billions of lives, entire races and our space tech. All we ask for is some form of closure with our squadmates if we make the right choices throughout the game and work really hard for it. Is it really that unrealistic to expect 1 ending that isnt mired with hopelessness and despair when we already get 7 endings that come in varying degrees of sad?

Did you really believe that Bioware would build up the Reapers to a mythical level only to have it all end like a certain Tom Cruise movie?

So expecting 2 or 3 of your closest friends to survive when billions of people and entire star systemshave been destroyed suddenly makes the ending go from dark and realistic to a Tom Cruise movie? Ya I see the logic there.
