So we can't get the ending we want after all?

In any case, I've lost so much faith in Bioware that I probably won't buy whatever DLC is coming out until after I read up on it...

That's because Dragon Age II didn't try to sell the idea that your choices all mattered and then yanked the rug out from under you at the end. They made really no claims about that and most people just played the game they were presented.. some didn't like it, I didn't mind it at all, only thing I disliked was that you never left that city...ever.
When you advertise "NO A, B, OR C endings!" and push how much your choices matter, it shows A) You didn't really have a complete comprehension of your own project, orYou didn't care.
I guess the rug was really pulled out from the fans in DA2 when they couldn't import their Grey Warden hero from DA and DA:Awakenings. Instead we get Hawke who may as well have been a silent protaganist.
Yeah but they also advertised DA2 was supposed to be a different story arc fairly early on if I remember correctly. Everyone KNEW Mass Effect was a singular arc.
DA2, by itself, was a solid story as well and had it been DA1 would have been a standards setting game.
For that alone I can forgive a LOT of things. ME3 was a solid story up to the end then dropped the ball big time. The standard was set BY Bioware, and they failed to live up to it, which is why there is so much disappointment, add in the completely inaccurate comments by individuals prior to the game launch and you get a recipe for what we're seeing now.

One thing that struck me about the blog post is the point about telling friends to go and buy the game...seems they are worried about the influence of people who have finished the ending telling others not to bother and looking at the fall in prices and fall in the charts I'd say that it already having an effect. Also shows how little influence those 75 'critics' had as well...

He didn't get, that you can also date Kaidan as Maleshep.
He probably thought "Oh I can choose a guy or a girl crewmate... Sorry Kaiden, Ashley's cuter" and so never even saw those lines of dialog.
Yahtzee was... surprising today, I was really expecting him to tear into us

3 multiplayer DLC packs have been leaked, all of which were supposidly priced in the 800+MS points mark, each pack adds in 2 new chars 3 weapons and a couple of weapon mods, which from the leak says they need to be unlocked or require in game credits to unlock

I always could relate to Kaidan, thats why I like him and that is why I am happy that Shep finaly can date him in ME3.
But isn't that the cool thing about Mass Effect. You always find a character you can relate to. And so everyone plays the game differently. That is what Bioware missed at the end.

I have multiple copies of this game at my house (due to having kids who want to play it same time daddy does) My personal copy is going back to gamestop. It is the only way I can emphasize my displeasure. and it lets them keep their artistic values.
You bring up an excellent point... They're trying to maintain artistic integrity based off an artistically flawed ending... It's broken but we made it so we're leaving it.. however if someone else had screwed with our vision.. ohh we'd be angry and make them change it! kotaku.com/5882185/bioware-to-patch-error+laden-mass-effect-novel-in-response-to-fan-uproar
I'd like to see some stats on who of those 75 critics actually FINISHED the entire game (especially with a Galactic Readiness over 3000)

After been mentally gutted by that horrid excuse of an ending I have been feeling like crap over a week now. Been lurking here since then and hoping that the ending was just an error in space-time continuum. Sadly it wasn't.
Now there has been two PR approved statements from Bioware where they dont really say anything. So I decided actually post here and voice my support to you people!
Keep posting and discussion in civil tone!
PS. English is not my first language so forgive possible typos and bad grammar.

Definitely taking it with a grain of salt. I'll keep the flicker of hope alive with it, but I'm not holding my breath.
However I am HOLDING THE LINE!

Hey, guys, maybe we don't need to flood them now with tons of letters, but instead compose a collective letter signed by everyone willing, stating that we want new endings, not a clarification to the old ones?
I'd be up for this idea, it would really show them how many of us there are and maybe they'll see the the "few players" or "Minority" is far larger than they originally thought.
This. However people think is the best way to present this idea, whether it be through a letter, a video message, whatever.

Ok people now that Ray spoke we need to move the line. Start clarifying that you want the endings changed, or that you want MORE endings. Don't let them get away with simply EXPLAINING it. (Though if they really could they have an excellent bull****er on their team.)
The explanation of the ending is simple...

Mr Muzyka is pretty much using corporate double-speak to say "we have no intention of changing the ending whatsoever, but we will release a DLC that expands on it further".
Keep the pressure on them!
