I wouldn't take a statement purported to be from one of the team members as an actual communication from a team member. You could probably find 0/10 Metacritic user reviews from "Patrick Weekes", and I'd bet you any amount of money they were not written by BioWare's Patrick Weekes.Darth Suetam wrote...
Ouch. I guess they started to point fingers at each other.
It's uncalled for. But, nevertheless, if we can see past it, it shows just how bad the endings were.
Secondly, we know the character writers delivered. They delivered throughout the game. The people who did all that could not have been responsible for the contrivance at the end.
It boggles the mind that anybody thought this was a good idea and that nobody had the power to stop it, if it's true.

I recommend that no one takes this for real, it's very dangerous to continue without any confirmation, if someone can get this confirmed I will happily add the link to the list, until then that's just joe blogs posting.milkymcmilkerson wrote...
Whoa. Was this for real? When I first saw the ending the first thought that came to mind, and one that I posted here and on Gamefaqs, is that it read like no one sat down and workshopped that ending, and if this is for real then it absolutely backs that claim up! Nice find!
So, it's "some" again? He should ve said "few". No, "a couple": "a couple of our fans are displeased". That's a confirmed kill of EA/Bioware brand for me. This... human really IS PROUD of what he had done. He thinks about averages. Like, if you have a bottle of whisky with a piece of rat poo floating in it - that's O-freaking-K, because it's still 95% of whisky there, right? What should we do for them to acknowledge their mistake? Mass Refund? On one hand, some of our loyal fans are passionately expressing their displeasure about how their game concluded; we care about this feedback, and we’re planning to directly address it. However, most folks appear to agree that the game as a whole is exceptional, with more than 75 critics giving it a perfect review score and a review average in the mid-90s. Net, I’m proud of the
team, but we can and must always strive to do better.

Wow... Just... Wow... No wonder really we got what we got. That's really very, very sad, for everyone involved. This really needs to be sorted, now.

"... The passionate reaction of some of our most loyal players to the current ending in Mass Effect 3 is something that has genuinely surprised us."
Me too, actually, but in a good way. Who would've guessed that the endings, as terrible as they are, would spark some of the most relevant discussions on consumer rights, the nature of art, and the future of video games? And raise the 75+ K for charity? Even if the endings remain as they are, some good have come of them. Now, if they change the endings, THAT would be a major victory for everyone on all fronts...
Hold the line, people. I have no doubt that we're doing good work here.

Yes. Like I said. If it is real, it's not a good thing. The writer should not do it. But, since it's done, we can comment on it. But I didn't see the original post. Didn't know it wasn't really from him. I still can get fooled by internet hoaxes.

Unless they're going to "explain" that it was part of the indoctrination theory (highly doubtful) and that there's a real ending coming, I doubt anyone would be happy with "more explanation".

If an ending needs an explanation, then there is something really wrong with it...Just saying...<_<

For my Technical writing/communications course, we have to do a presentation on ethics. Well lucky for me, the other group members that I was assigned with are all mass effect fans! and guess what....they all think they endings are a load of bollocks. This will make for an interesting/fun presentation
