So we can't get the ending we want after all?

I'm curious HOW they're going to do it what with stupid spacekid and his stupid, merry band of huskateers but that's for them to decide in all their "artistic integrity" glory.
Hopefully, they'll add in the ability to tell spacekid to shove it where the stars don't shine. If they go the indoctrination route, I'm fine with that, too. Anything that gets us a complete product.
I think this is a good, medium path to take because even though everyone on this thread hates the ending, we all have a million and one ideas of what we'd like to see. They're not going to fit in each of our personal ones so if they take the route that fits the majority of requests, I'm all right with that, even if they aren't what I want to see (in this case, male shep with kaidan and garrus on a beach drinking Canadian lager and shooting the breeze). It seems to me that the major request seems to be for closure and clarity. We'll see how they get there and achieve that.
I'm just glad that they've now brought in the big guns to respond to customer concerns. Tells me that we're doing something right and that they finally see that we have a point. Plus, I also liked IGN having to write an article on how we've been "promised new endings". That was a nice little bit of lulz.

The Reapers use Shepard as a tool to bring the entire organic resistance to the Reapers for the harvest... brilliant plan Reapers!!! create a hero who is the "expert" on killing them, have EVERYONE follow him blindly with a "weapon" no one knows how to use or what it even does, the Reapers win.. THE END!

'Art' doesn't always have to be depressing. Plenty of us love a good happy ending. Fiction is a great way to escape reality and my favourite thing about Mass Effect before the ME3 ending was how pumped and uplifted i always felt playing as Shepard.
See, that's the thing - people have been disparaging happy endings throughout this entire debacle. Know what? I want a happy ending where Shep lives and reunites with his/her crew and LI in a galaxy where the mass relays still exist. And I don't think there's a thing wrong with wanting that.
It isn't silly. It isn't non-artistic. It isn't childish. And it's sure as heck not unintellectual.

^this! The endings were terrible and they NEED TO STOP saying art...it's art if the public says it's art and the ending was far from that. The ending would have Vincent Van Gogh question himself even more about being an artist; if he had seen it. <_< Art is a perspective given by the public eye...
Honestly, video games are not Picasso paintings. I don't want an "artistic" ending; I just want multiple endings that I can pick from. <_<
Yes. Like I said before. Go to your basement, and write your "artsy" game, and struggle to make a living. Perfectly fine. But don't release a multi-million dollar shooter project from a multi-billion dollar company, trying to make a gazillion dollars, and say it's art, and that's untouchable.
And people with absolutely no knowledge of art are talking about it. What it's funny is that most artists produced on demand. They were payed to produce something, and were always changing things according to the paying customer's wishes. You can name the painter, sculptor, whatever. That was usually the case. They can now hang on the wall of big galleries, but they were payed and changed according to the buyer.

As all i got from the statment was We love what the mass effect team did for the ending it's really artistic. we know some don't like the ending
we are going to work with current content and explain the ending in april. You can take that as either they going to talk down to us and explain it or that don't know how to explain it that they need a few week to come up with a answer

Just finished the game about an hour ago. I knew about the RGB ending(s) even before I started my playthrough and I thought I was prepared for not being satisfied at the end of the game... but I was STILL infuriated and disappointed as I watched the scene with the godchild and everything.
And then the entire trilogy ends with the words "downloadable content"...
I appreciate everyone who has been active in this campaign for a better ending. I'm usually very shy online and not too good at defending my POV, but I'll keep voting on polls and giving my support however I can.

Just curious, but does anyone know what "game content initiatives" means? To me it sounds like a fancy way to say they are in the process of starting to think about possibly doing something in the near to far future.
It is all just speculation at this point. All we know is that he said that something will be done to "clarify" things. Whether that is new endings added on or they just add things to make these endings along with the plot holes make sense. No one knows yet

Same here...I love their explanations. "Art is free form" then turn around and give u a set of rules which NO ARTIST follows lol. We should make a video called "Vincent Van Gogh, from Doctor Who, sees Bioware calling Mass Effect 3 ending art" Then have that scene where hes crying in the musuem... SOLID GOLD right there.

That's how I take it. They're carefully weighing their options. I think they are starting to realize that traditional PR tactics aren't working. Even worse, they're backfiring, big time.
Seriously rethinking the descision to sell yourselves to EA aren't you, Bioware?

We are not only holding the line for the endings anymore. As far as I think we are holding this line for sake of games. Yes they might be called art, but they should be called art as games not art as part of movies or paintings or books. This is healthy progress(I don't think evolution is correct thing to say.. or is it?) there has been same kind of progress in every art genre. Movies have gone trough it from mute to with audio and from black&white to coloured.Darth Suetam wrote...

I agree. And honestly, most of the artists were never famous while they were alive...now you wonder why....
