If you wanted all of your problems solved in an ending, Disney makes plenty of movies that will fit your taste.

And how many disney movies have to watched that have plot holes big enough to fit an armada into?

Neglecting to mention, of course, that a lot of disney flims ALSO rely solely on Magic Sparkly Whizz to make everything better.

We got Disney, we want something with more bite.

Sometimes I'm hopefull, sometimes not.

What scares me most is seeing what Biowares comes up with in DLC's/patch.

If they stick to godchild/normandy leaving/Shep dying and only give us "explanation" then they lost one paying customer.

Make that two...

Three...

i find it strange that IGN, this article, the bbc etc have all come flat out and said

'they are changing the endings'

As said before. most media nowadays do not really do investigate research/journalism or analyze statements from a pr dissection view. Its just the way it is.

lol nice. also how many disney movies you see humans impaled and turn into zombies... or where spaient beings are liquified while still alive and breathing. Not to mention disney movies where alot of blood is shown?

But regardless, why shouldn't we have a happy ending? Why can't we  have an ending where sheperd survive?

Isn't that what Mass effect is about, choices and consequences? The suicide mission... no realistic suicide mission comes with everyone back alive and kicking with not so much as a scratch. yet in ME2 given the right choices we did. So why take that away?

just cuz isn't an answer.

SSV Atrocity sails towards slumber land.

I have to say, I'm so proud of you guys, Daily News, Forbes, BBC, Telegraph, all the messages here @ Bioware forums etc, you have done an amazing job, and it seems like it might pay off.

I'll join the ranks tomorrow morning, until then (once again ;):
play nice, play fair, play polite, play to the facts.
Hold the Line.

Atrocity out.

Probably because they all think Bioware is.
I mean, if you look at it from a financial/economic perspective, it is in their best interest to make an alternative ending DLC (paid, of course) to the "vocal minority" of "very passionate fans"
Except Bioware is too proud to do that...or so it seem...

Not so. First, official statements don't come through Twitter. Second, they tweeted this after the tweet you linked.

Self-bump, since people seem to be fretting over that tweet.

much as before, nothing really said in either tweet that clarifies......they could change endings (as all the publications are saying) or try to explain the end away....either one is a mistake.....just add a few new ones bw!

Hmm...Moridin or Wrex dead, Legion sacrificed, over half the turian population dead, Asari homeworld lost, Thane dead, civilians dying in the thousands on earth, experiencing indoctrination is a disney ending if shepard ends up with the crew?

What disney movies did you watch oO

there are so many issues that need addressing.....

1. teleportation.
2. Shep Shooting Anderson - but actually wounding himself.
3. God Child.
4. red/green/blue
5. The Stranded Fleet.
6. The mass relay explosions should have wiped out trillions of life forms.
7. is this all just a PR stunt to gain publicity?

Bioware made a wonderful, huge and interactive galaxy we have come to know well and have come to love. Then, they made a uniform, a rank and a name. Some may be of opinion that it's art, that it's BioWare's story to tell - but we were the ones who wore that uniform into battle.

We crafted Shepard's face with detail and patience. We chose his background. We chose his career. We chose his class and specialization. In our minds we gave him a personality, and then we took humanity by the hand and properly introduced ourselves to the galaxy by defeating the geth, Sovereign and Saren in a battle of unprecedented scale.

We made choices that ended the lives of many. Some of them our own beloved crew. We chose who lived and who died and regretted having to make that choice, having to live with its repercussions. We romanced our (wo)man of choice, dismissing the attentions of others, or we loved more when we could not make up our minds. We made friends with our crew, or commanded them relentlessly.

We made choices that impacted the galaxy. We influenced many races, their leadership and their course. We took the fight to the Collectors and kicked their butts back into the omega 4 relay, where we followed them to their lair, and decided whether it should burn or not - knowing we had to live with the consequences.

We made choices that relieved those in need, or we made the choice to give priority to our mission at the cost of individual or even mass sufering. We built bridges between races or destroyed them. We have grown attached to our crewmembers: Garrus Vakarian, Tali'Zorah vas Normandy nar Rayya, Flight Lieutenant Jeff Moreau, Dr. Karin Chakwas, Liara T'soni and many, many others who served beside us. We have come to care for them, or rather their written personalities - and some of us even wear them on T-shirts, hoodies and hear their voices when we see their faces.
We saw them die, and FELT it.

That is how great BioWare made this game. That is how well written the game was so far. That is the most awesome thing most of us have experienced in a mere videogame. That is immersion to perfection and we were promised it would build up to the end by mr. Hudson himself. We trusted him, for we had no reason to doubt him after all he and his team have given us after years, and years of their hard work.

We did everything we could the way we think we should have. But during the final phase, during the last battle, at the moment that it matters most - we are not allowed to fulfill our chosen destiny, but forced to abruptly choose a colour on the screen. The End.

I am but one Commander Shepard, and feel that this won't do. We are ALL Commander Shepard. We stood in his boots on Ilos, Feros, Tuchanka, Eden Prime and any other godforsaken planet, asteroid and artificial helhole that needed our talents, which we -again- chose for ourselves.

Dear BioWare, we are Commander Shepard. We deserve to choose our own destiny.

To play devils advocate here; We made those choices within the scope of what Bioware had created, directed under their vision. Nothing was emergent, but carefully scripted, thus our ownership of the story goes only as far as the limited amount of freedom Bioware afforded us in the game. The Mass Effect series is still really their game, and we were along for the ride (until it crashed at the end).

You should watch some Disney stuff from the late 1970s and early 1980s... they did some seriously dark stuff which really didn't fit into mass audience taste

Notice how vague the statement is - they don't say yes or no conclusively.

this is also PR (as is everything).....initially, before release, they over promised and under produced.....they are all now giving little bits to keep enthusiams there, but tempered and want to be able to say (at PAX) here's the big fix, it's exactly what you wanted...

Plus, if they decide to run with the indoctrination theory... they don't need to "alter" anything, just add "additional content" - if you know where I'm going

Like I said before, it's good that it's not from him. It would be ugly to see them starting finger pointing at each other.

But that doesn't make some of the things written less true, anyway. But already wrote about it.

It's really hard to not let myself lash out when people try to compartmentalize why the endings were bad.  Specifically when Ray Murzyka says things like this "It’s incredibly painful to receive feedback from our core fans that the game’s endings were not up to their expectations” .  As has been shown and linked many times, the interviews before the games release promised us this, this was not false speculation (no pun intended) or expectation based on 'our' (our own individual sheps) playthroughs.  This expectation is what they gave us.

Calm again.  Thanks for letting me vent Image IPB
