The sad thing is, even knowing the endings I couldn't make a different decision in my NG+. I still told her to wait till after the victory. It may never happen for us but I will still hold out for a happy/sensible/whatever ending. Bioware did such a good job devleoping these characters and crafting the situations that even with my knowing the ultimate outcome I *still* played it as my character would have.

Even with me firing up ME and trying to make the decisions that will net me more assets (such as supposedly killing off Wrex so it's easy to sabotage the Genhophage and fool Wreav) I'm having difficulty not going with my gut reaction to things. I swear though, if I still can't get the breathe ending after all of this I am done.

I know I'm being melodramatic but this whole situation has me not even wanting to log in to TOR. I know my guild is wondering what the heck happened to me. Call me entitled if you will, it doesn't matter. This whole experience has me soured. I stopped playing anything that displayed SOE because of a horrible customer service experience they put me through. I don't want this to happen again but it's getting to the point that I may avoid anything connected to EA too. I'm not quite at that point yet but I may just wash my hands of this publisher and stick to playing Minecraft. Which is a shame because I adore RPGs and for many years Bioware has had me as a loyal fan.

Just so you guys are aware, my Twitter account will no longer be a place to discuss BioWare (at least for now). If you're following me there and that's the only reason, I suggest unfollowing me.

I will also be changing my interactions with fans on the BSN to a role that is more moderation focused and less engagement focused. Thanks to those of you who have provided wonderful conversations.

Lastly, despite what someone indicated on an earlier page, I am not a salaried employee. I am paid hourly. It's a good job, but I'm not being paid to engage with the community at 3AM. I did it because I thought it was helpful. I'm sorry that it wasn't."

Sooo.. Jessica Merizan isn't allowed to hold dialogue with us on the subject of Bioware and Mass Effect anymore. Make of that what you will.

That's disappointing.. I really hope she didn't get in trouble.  I wonder if EA sent over stormtroopers to Bioware yesterday or something... Seems to be a lot more imperial orders going around today lol

Frankly, she could also just be tired. Nothing like jumping out of bed in an attempt to be helpful and have it... not quite turn out as you had hoped... She may have been advised to back away, but she may also just be looking to avoid ulcers. It's sad, but on the other hand she isn't in any position that could really deliver us "official" statements anyway. I hope she gets a good night's sleep, in either case.

After the PR damage control, the PR damage collateral. Poor Miss Merizan. Just hoping she won't get into trouble. Too bad she was the only one who really seemed to care about us.

I really wonder if we need to have another letter writing campaign to Bioware.... thank them for Jessica, remind them that the engagement is part of why half of us didn't just return our games and give up on Bioware, and it humanized the company more, so we didn't just say they'd sold their souls to EA and were beyond hope and redemption.

Even if we don't do this, I think we should all send her a thank-you message...it would spam her inbox pretty bad, but we should let her know she's appreciated.

Go vote on g4 poll on BioWare's ending: http://www.g4tv.com/attackoftheshow/

^_^

30% no????wtf??
let's change this people.

It's not about changing the poll. The polls should always represent what the majority of people feels like and not what serves us right. If Moriarty turns out to be right and we are just a little cry baby minority, then so be it.

But I honestly cannot see that coming.

I think with change he means that we who were unaware of the poll and want to vote should go vote, which is part of reflecting reality.

This, thank you.

Oof. Bioware is battening down the hatches. I really hope we didn't screw Ms. Merizan over...

Anyone else think this is a bad idea? Jessica has actually been the best recieved asset Bioware had engaging the fans. She honestly cared in my opinion.

Meanwhile Mike Gamble's Twitter has been overflowing with posts claiming they have rainbows and unicorns on the way but he can't talk about it... Yes I'm paraphrasing.... :P Seems like word has come down from on high to control the message... <_<

I can't say if Jessica cared or not, but she did the job well to talk to people, pretty much as the only one. Now they are taking that away, that's kind of a dick move. I'm not expecting her to talk to people at 3AM obviously.
Sadly the past two weeks have made me lose all my trust for bioware so the thought comes into mind, that this is just another PR thing pulled on us, to make us feel sorry for Jessica.

Whatever else you may think of her, you have to admit that she has performed far above and beyond the call of duty. She was quite literally thrown into the front lines of a major 'fight' with little or no warning, and has worked hard to keep the situation from spiralling totally out of control. She has been polite and good natured throughout this, even when she's been called in to deal with some emergency at 3am, and respectful. She's also given her opinions in a logical and reasonable way, while not dismissing counter-claims or dismissing others point of view.

Now I may not agree with her point of view, and her inability to give straight answers to many questions (as in she has to pick her words very carefully so as not to say anything that would make things worse) has been frustrating. But I do think she's earned a rest from the front lines, and quite possibly a promotion and raise as well.

This.

Removing one of the last people in Bioware that is actually connected to the community... Great job, really :pinched: "smartest" thing I have seen during the whole mess....

Get some rest Jessica, you have earned it.

Thats to bad. Even if they were using her as PR machine, she was a nice and friendly breath of fresh air in this pool of arguments. =/

Wow, I leave for a half hour and come back to this. I can see this as a result of two things.

1) Bioware removed Jessica from her position either because of some action or because they felt her position was no longer necessary. Both of these options seem to be detrimental from my limited viewpoint, considering that while she didn't give us any answers, she was the most sypathized with Bioware employee I'd seen on the board.

2) Jessica was sick of the pressure that all this constant attention that the situation has thrust on her and asked to be able to leave her position. If this is the reason I can sympathize with her, it can't be easy being the mouth of a company taking this much heat, especially when you have no control over the outcome.

I agree with you on all of that to a point. I haven't made a lot of alterations other than being even more perfectionist about gaining assets because they will fix the autrocity that was the ending so...it will be worth it. I did however opt to drink with her this time and I think I can rationalize it in my own head as to why Shepard would want to and partially Chakwas asks you to indulge her and as a friend I think Shepard would. Furthermore There's that comforting familiarity to the act that the rest of Shep's life is lacking as everything is stressful and the playing field constantly changing it would seem O.K to indulge in that moment of weakness and enjoy something with a close friend.

Also if you have a character that would drink with her...do it. It's hilarious they are both obviously drunk and talk about how Shep's never used her first name and how she won't call Shepard by their first name it's pretty great. Youtube it maybe?

Just means that this is now corporate level management and she's not high enough up the totem pole to 'trust' enough to speak on the corporate turtle's mindset (AKA: dry, fact only boring conversations)

My guess is just that Jessica's been dealing with quite a bit of negativity and the like lately and is taking a break - I don't blame her at all, ****'s been crazy.
