In the television show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, you have the option of polling the audience for the correct answer if you don't know it.  Now, it's a good strategy to wait until you have a really hard question to use it because the collective ideas of the audience are almost always correct.  If 80% of the audience says that out of answers A,B,C, and D that the answer is D, then it would be in your best interest to choose D. Yes, the majority of America is not participating in this, but the results can at least give you a good idea of the path to choose.

That's actually how official surveys and polls go. A company/organization/whatever that wants consumer feedback will ask X amount of people who have bought the product a set of questions. That sample is then used to extrapolate the opinions of every consumer of the product.

Also, not related to the above: I've been thinking (surprise, I know), if they do add ending DLC, chances are it'll just be new cutscenes and dialogue, maybe some more combat. But that means the lil' textbox that pops up at the end saying "You are legend! Become a bigger myth; buy more game." will still be there. I really don't want my last memory of this series being of BioWare trying to squeeze me for more money. Maybe we should add this to our list of requests: Get rid of that textbox. What do ya'll think?

Why did they just abandon the dark energy thing? It was hinted in 1 and 2. Is it becasue drew left? I think it would've been WAY better than the circular logic god child they gave us. I mean, imagine that the reapers were harvesting organic life to stop dark energy from destroying suns and all life or something like that instead. And they're so interested in humans because harvesting humans would solve the dark energy problem some how. Imagine being faced with that. damn. "The cycle stops if you sacrifice everything". I'm just brainstorming. Imagine what a real writer could've done.

You are right, we HAVE NOT WON. This is just a PR stunt to calm us down so our movement loses traction.

NO where does it say they will make new ending. They said they will be adding clarification which means they most likely are doubling down on A, B,C. Opps sorry, Red, Green, and blue.

It also allows for   continuation of the series after the Shepards story if you tell the Reapers to go to hell and see  your own solution.   100 or  500 years later they can pick with the decendants  of orginal cast and some of longer lived ones and have a game or two revoling around solving the Dark Engery issue with a new Main Character... 

So much potential wasted.

Hey guys; saw a wonderful post a moment ago by Computim, and I thought I'd add my own two cents.

As you probably know, been a gamer for 22 years, been online for 17+ years...was literally one of the first non-government people on the net around where I live...I remember when places like Hotmail and Yahoo mail were first starting out...I remember loading things in via modem, watching the basis of a page appear, slowly becoming clearer as little bits of data were added.

That's my analogy of gamers in general; at first, in the early days, it was nothing but rage and flaming, with nothing constructive happening. Gradually, over time, the image of gamers has cleared up...and as it stands right now, with how polite and civil this group has been...this, quite honestly, massive group...the page is 98% loaded...we've really come together as a world-wide culture.

Naturally, we're not at 100% though, because as it was pointed out there were still a lot of negative, inflamatory messages being tossed at Bioware staffers. But I'd like to think this was the minority...I hope it was, anyway.

This movement has made huge strides in casting off the shackles placed on us by the title 'entitled' gamers...we've donated to charity, been held together by a single unified purpose...and, I can't stress this enough, so I'm going to say it again...the vast majority of us stayed civil.

But it's not enough to only be this way once; every time something like this happens, where our rights as consumers are threatened, where we're told 'you have to like this, you have no choice', we -have- to stand up this way. If the majority of people want something fixed, it -has- to be done. And if the gamer culture devolves back down into disorganized hate-flaming again after this, everything we've accomplished here will be for naught.

So take heart! Don't let people like Colin Moriarty get you down...his opinion is in the minority in every way that counts. Keep your head up, with pride, because you represent the future...the mature, responsible gamer.

This does not mean we let our guard down; nothing is 100% clear at the moment, so we need to continue to hold the line. When the updated endings are released to us, then and only then can we fade back into the crowd...then, and only then, can we relax our guard. We can start, now, by making a few small gestures of peace...one of which, thanking Jessica Merizan on the appropriate thread, is a good start.

But even after this, remember to stay vigilant! Even though we've possible set a positive precedent in the game market, we have to make sure that companies don't try to slink back into their old ways...but also remember that if you don't like something, to make sure that enough people agree with you to become vocal...one or two voices alone won't solve anything..but thousands of voices as one can never be ignored.

Well, that's all I wanted to say. Keep holding the line until we know for 100% sure what's happening.

Decided to play through the ending again (my Xbox was probably feeling a bit of neglect of late) and I'll admit to a bit of hope creeping in. I won't say that hope isn't without measured skepticism, but I agree we have made progress. This is not a small undertaking on BW's part and I think it is fair to give them time to respond with detail knowing they may not have full detail at the moment. I'll be here holding the line, but credit where credit is due.

Yeah I'm probably going to play through ME2 on my evil ME1 char so I can then do a renegade playthrough of ME3.  I'm sure it'll be some work, but the rewards for hard work have always been sweeter than those easily obtained

I never expected to get everything I wanted from Bioware.. (I mean, the 300 foot inflatable Shepard Decoy DLC was asking a bit much).  I wanted them to admit that they dropped the ball and move to correct it.  Not just for this game but future releases as well

I'm looking for something that takes most, if not all of our choices into consideration to this point.. I want to feel like all that time I spent running around the citadel getting 'war assets' wasn't just to push a number up on a bargraph.  I'd like a few cutscenes that show Krogan riding dinosaurs into battle (reminds me of the holy crap this is awesome photo memes), that sort of thing, I don't want to rewrite the ending.. I don't think the ending really is appropriate for a game where all your choices culminate but, at the same time, I do think the ending fits, especially with some of the ideas thrown around by the community here..

I've been blessed to learn at a younger age that you can't do everything yourself, you have to delegate..I don't want to write the endings to ME3.. it's not my game, I'd rather leave that to the professionals, I've suggested some things in generalities but if I start giving specifics it takes away from that surprise moment where you look at your TV and go "I can't believe they actually put that in".  Some of those moments are my favourite when it comes to games.

I'm a computer programmer for career.. I've majored in project management, I'm Cisco network certified, and I'm a lover of the .Net languages including the Xbox's XNA frameworks.  I have never been a public speaker, in fact I've had some terror inducing events this week just typing on here haha, so I guess, in a sense, I do at least part of this for a living haha.

I'll stop talking and let someone else speak now haha.

As has been said, don't fall for the PR trap Muzyka laid out for us.

EA/BW are trying to delay and distract everyone in the hopes that all this will fade out in time.  The longer they drag things out, the more likely interest will fade and the media and others will forget all about us.

Muzyka is handing us nothing but empty words at this point in order to salvage the PR of his company, and they'll say whatever they think will satisfy you without actually promising/delivering anything.  Also, dont put it past EA to lie outright (if some piece of real truth gets out through some means) to try and make us all think its "fake" or "falsified".  It might be, but thats the key word, "might".  EA/BW doesn't have any trust from me, nor should they from you at this point.  They lied outright about how our choices would matter in the end, that tells me they'd do the same now to save face in the public backlash they are taking.

Even if they say they are 100% going to make the kinds of endings we want, don't believe them until you have the code in your hands if you plan to buy it (I wont in any case, they dont deserve my money at this point as it should never have come to this in the first place).

Hold the line until you have tangible, measureable results.  Anything else is simply unacceptable.

Just my 2 credits, spend them how you wish.  Me?  I'm buying a housewarming gift for Tali's new home.
