Anyone in the Retake movement believe in the Indpoctrination Theory?  After watching videos by Angry Joe and ACAVYOS that go very in-depth on its analysis, I have no choice but to agree...there are just too many things that make sense and fit perfectly.  Plus it would leave the opportunity open for a real ending.

Anyone else seen these?  What is your opinion on it?

I did believe in it, but feel that if that was the case, Bioware sold an incomplete game. The endings suck and have no real player affected choice. The indoctrination theory makes them make more sense. But if it was indoctrination, the ending shouldn't have ended with the stupid "Shepard is a legend" prompt and star-gazer scene. Cause we don't exactly know how Shepard beat the reapers and why he/she is considered "the Shepard". I want to believe in it, just because it would have shown more thought on Bioware's part. But I don't think it makes the ending that much better.

if you saw mac walters notes this is what he intended... for you to write the ending.

dig deep enough and you'll find some sort of logic in this mess.

Yeah, the whole "we're not sure how to end it so we'll leave it up to the player's imagination." I guess in a way, that is what this whole movement is about - our right to choose and not be told these are the three endings (especially when they make no sense in the lore of series). But Bioware has always prided themselves on their stories. A little openendedness is fine. What was left at the end of Mass Effect 3... it seems too much. Especially since what the player thought about the Mass Effect universe (the dark energy build up, the mass relays, etc...) are all no longer around.

It's a good idea, but I do not believe in it. Bioware just gave a crappy ending, and saying so otherwise is silly, if the indoctrinatio theory was their plan from the begining they wouldn't let this outcry go on for so long. It's not doing them any good, and if they had intended it it would cause even more out cry over the fact they released an unfinished game.

A lot of people like the indoctrination theory, but as far as bioware having it's ending held back intentionally I don't think that's the case. Frankly I can't believe that Bioware would attempt such a potentially suicidal PR nightmare what with the "Ending sold seperately" on the last game of their epic trilogy. After reading stuff from the Final Hours it seems like there was a sort of indoctrination theory that was attempted, but was abandonned due to issues (what issue could be greater than the current ending I'd rather not know). Final Hours also said they were working on the ending right up until the deadline and I think that's the main reason why the ending was so lackluster, because they couldn't figure out what to do right up until the deadline. Personally I think most of the evidence that indoc is based on is just left over from their ACTUAL indoc attempt that failed. If they did have an indoc theory up their sleeve I think they would've revealed it by now.

Outside of the Indoctrination Theory we know exactly how Shepard Beat the Reapers. He either blows them up, controls them or turns everything into synthetic organics. How is that absent of definition?

I agree with the Stargaze and kid thing. I don't reall yget what that is about but could only assume it's a fragment of time to say that the Normandy crash land had them survive and breed. Other then that it's not really pertinent to anything and doesn't make much sense.

Thing is, I don't think anyone here spent 60+ dollars to make up their own ending, we could do that for free, go to a fanfiction site, etc...

I don't know what happened on the show, but the poll results are very 'interesting'.

There was no IP vote cap. You could literally vote as many times as you like. That poll means very little unless semantical evidence is something you can back.

Really, it's showing the same thing as every other poll I've seen on the internet.

Still wondering where this majority that likes the endings is hiding...

I meant that if the indoctrination theory is valid, the ending scene of Shepard taking a breath is him/her waking up in London. If control or synthesis are picked, the indoctrination works and the reapers are still around. In destroy, as the theory goes, you wake up in the rubble having beat the reaper's mind games. But the reapers should still be around, and thus the game should continue.

Weren't you the one commenting on that poll when it was at 62% in favor, and 38% against?

Apart from the IP cap: We all know that none of these polls are made in accordance with the proper 'scientific' methodology. BioWare probably ignores them all, and rightly so.

On the other hand, it's kind of funny, that in almost all of these online polls, results are at 90% vs. 10%. You'd think that at least people insulting us at IGN, calling us a 'vocal minority', and so on, would go there and vote.

For either the 3 cases of the indoctrination theory, entering the green beam has similar look as the beam to the citadel, maybe this sent Shep to the citadel and ended the indoctrination attempt?

The red could be destroying something nearby the beam to citadel that free'd Shep from the indoctrination's effect.and the blue, could be something similar, like chocking some certain ign dude.

I'm sure they do, that's whats so beautiful about it. No matter how many people pretend they like the ending, there will be 20 who don't. It's delicious. We are the majority.

Quick question: Say the endings don't change and we do in fact get just an explanation of the current ones. Why was that tweet about if we knew what they were planning we would hold onto our saves forever even said? To give us hope that never was coming? Or do they believe that MP and pre ending content will actually make us happy?

All this just seems strange. Hold on to our saves but for what purpose? Pre ending content will not require us to do that nor would MP content. What's up with that?

Don't you think that's being a little paranoid?

Except about not trusting EA. That part is just true.

And you arent after being sold a bill of goods that turned out to be total BS?

I wouldn't trust EA/BW as far as I could throw them right now.  They want to make us look like the bad guys and downplay our very valid concerns.  They're going to use every trick in the PR playbook to calm the storm and leave us hanging until we fade away.

If some little "truth" slips out the door somehow you don't think they'd resort to lies/smokescreen to try and cover it up and just say, "Oh thats made up, one of the complainers must have done that and spread it".  PR people don't make the money they do for being truthful, they make money for doing good marketing to generate sales, and damage control.  Sure it's possible some false stuff will end up getting spread around, but that doesn't mean it all is.

If you want to trust them, go ahead, but I already got suckered once, and I wont forget it.

I believe that  was the person who said that. Waves around a poll when it suits him, trashes it when it doesn't.

Kinda funny that every poll is showing similar results. Just where is this majority that love the endings that they keep bringing up hiding?

See, Bioware also said to us that we would get 16 different endings where our choices did matter, and that they were not going to be a,b,c...They also said we would get closure...so, yeah...

I'm trying to believe, I really am, but their past makes it hard for me to believe them...:crying:

Yup. The pro-ending people are getting unreasonable and hostile. They're hurt.

It's called Ad Homonim. Basiclly, they would rather attack us personally so as to deflect attention from the fact that they have no argument. They've backed themselves into a wall and have no where left to go.

Yup. Sad thing is non of us have anything against them. If you like the ending fine but why not agree other people should at least be given the option to enjoy an ending as much as you did? I think an optional add or optional DLC would be very fitting. If you like the ending, then don't buy it.

They're upset because they see us as attacking BW and destroying their ending. We see ourselves as lied to about the story and feel betrayed. If both sides would see eye to eye then all 3 parties could come out of this with a win for Mass Effect.
