If so, does anyone else here feel that there's something not quite kosher with this....?
Apart from the fact that the IGN poll ended up with little over 15k votes over the course of a week or so, and yet this GameFaq poll is drawing in massive numbers with little or no advertising that I can see on either side of the fence.
I hate to sound cynical against something which goes against my beliefs which puts me in a very weak position (the "you just don't accept it because it show's you're wrong" argument springs to mind) but something here REALLY doesn't add up.
Then again, as far as I am aware, GameFAQs is there for people who can't complete a game without oa walkthrough or tips or cheats. If the people who are voting (except for those directed there by us) are those people who are having difficulty just completing ME3 on their own...how worried should we really be?

I laughed so loud that i've got an echo into my office.
I've laughed a lot from the comments too.... most of them aren't explaining it really well...
Wow lol. When he starts trying to reconcile what happens to his ending if they add others, things really become quite a trainwreck... I mean that was a spectacle of foot in one's mouth.
They really should have looked for another journalist to respresent our view.... I'm sure forbes would have provided some kind of response if they had requested it.
BTW, openely admitting that you have a homogeneous group of journalists really damages your credentials as a news outlet. Not that we needed that statement to derive the bias that has been occuring.

What we want is
1. closure (too much things to speculate about or unexplainable events)
2. be able to make choices in the main series event - which is the ending.
3. understanding from BW that they created such a perfect game that grown people get attached to in such a way nobody deemed possible. We want change because we could not care more.
Just seen the IGN clip and for christ sake, how difficult is it to think twice before you speak. They make drama where there is none.
We respect and admire Bioware for all their work. We wouldnt roar about the endings if we didn't care. We care a lot and we want to be understood. We want to pay BW to do more such beauties as ME series. We are loyal fans, not neutral minded critics. Once again - WE CARE.
Cheers.

Talk about us like we were not helpful at all or friendly, while they keep attacking us. They were the ones that are unfriendly towards us.
That Colin guy is the biggest crybaby of all times lol. "what about me? I liked the ending" yea fine, don't download the DLC then, if there will even be one. They haven't even said there will be a change to the ending, all they said is they were trying to give us closure and answer our question, which does in no way mean, they will be changing the ending at all.
I'm so sick and tired of the bull**** that comes from IGN. The game functions and you have no consumer rights then.
DON'T ADVERTISE SOMETHING THAT IS NOT GOING TO BE IN THE GAME THEN FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!
Are they so ****ing thick, they can't understand this? That we were promised things, that didn't happen, that we were lied to.... We payed for something that was promised to us, advertised and then we simply didn't get what we payed for. We have all the rights to complain.
the "super minority" is people like colin from IGN that has now "lost all respect for bioware" thats just hilarious.
And that they couldn't find a single person, that supports the change of ending. Hahaha really? You have got to be joking, they didn't even try. There is 1000s of people who would support that and who could explain everyone exactly why. But you guys from IGN wouldn't want that, would you. You don't give a rats ass about being objective or even letting the other side explain their reasons or views. No no, ofc it has to look like we are the "super minority" in that case.
And talking about Art, say an Artist is selling paintings, saying you can decide what's on it. You are all happy, pay him the money, ask him to paint something, he shows you the first steps on the way to your painting, asks for your opinion, makes you choose certain things and then when the painting is done you see nothing that you said mattered one bit and he just painted something completely different than what you payed him for. When you ask him why he did that he says "Well I'm the artist and its my panting so i decided on it." When you say that this is not what he promised you he says "It's art, you cant criticize it, now shut up."
Like anyone on the world would accept such a behavior
But thats what we are asked to do.
Also does anyone else get the feeling that IGN is in bed with bioware? I mean bioware hasn't even said they were going to change the endings at all, and IGN is already out there making bad press about that, so in case that bioware comes and says "we are not going to make a new ending" everyone will love them?

Those who disagree that endings should be changed are simply mislead as to why are we asking for it. We dont ask for it because we want Shep to smash the reapers with one fart and melt Harbinger hull with one look. Happy ending is not the priority.

Agreed~! SO what's your take on the whole thing from the Cofounder of BW? And the new IGN vid?
The whole co-founder thing just confuses me, and as far as I could tell seems to be all double-speak PR stuff again.
The new IGN video annoys me and I cannot believe how unpleasant and arrogant that Colin guy is <_<
I know right! Its a surprise that they even are trying to get us to give up with this whole thing. Its not about us, its about what they promised to give us, they things they never gave us!
I've never really paid much attention IGN, since I've seen only seen two of their vids, the two with Colin... and all I've got to say, is that he's got to have some kind of superiority complex... I mean the man is absolutely stuck up, bound up in his high bound veiws of himself, and can't seem to get it into his head that there are other veiws other than his own.

She's 15 months now and getting ready to conquer the world with her walking. She was a staunch ally during ME3, applauding and shouting "yay!" whenever there was cheering. She too however did not like the endings. I'm sure I hear "marauder shields nooooo" coming through the baby monitor at night lol. My son is older and he had ending dreams too - he still asks me to explain why they did it that way and a mother should never have to say "I don't know"Geda173 wrote...

She is a year old as of St. Patrick's Day! Being the proud father that I am, I celebrated her day of reckoning the way any good Irishman would: whiskey, potatos and Leprechaun Space Magic

Art is and will always be subjective. Developers can argue that video games are art and if they present a game which is fait accompli that's one thing. I can't go playing games like Dues Ex:Human Revolution or even the more recent Kingdoms of Amalur and complain about the ending, because I was never asked to be involved in the game beyond enjoying the story. The developers didn't ask for fan feedback or insist that it is down to player choice and that that matters. I don't think this is an earth shattering defining moment for the industry because this relationship with the fans is something the Bioware actively cultivated and asked for. They wanted us to care and be involved, which is why they're taking what we're saying seriously. I'm not going to complain to Square Enix that I didn't like the end of their latest Final Fantasy because I was never in a position to make choices that were supposed to change the outcome.
^ very much this.
They can't call it art if they let us fill in the blanks... the many, many blanks. BW did not tell a story, they gave us options make our own story.

I continue to be impressed by the Forbes guys -- they are doing some really important investigative work in connection with this. It's very good to see this continue to be covered by such a well-respected site. To get a notion of the significance, look at who advertises on the page. Microsoft is very selective about their ad placement.AmaraDark wrote...
