Im suspecting its automatically adding votes to the "No" option, on top of everyone voting. The "No" option has been increasing consistantly since it started. I've been watching it the entire time -_-

Anyways, night guys'n'gals.
Keep up the good work.

Hold. The. Line.

"We're artists, we might explain it to you, give us more money"
Still didn't touch what will likely be never talked about, the marketing campaign. It seems bw feels they have the right to say whatever they feel like in interviews when describing future product.

as i said i have kept most information of what i have played / seen at CVG offices in the uk about mass effect 3 and the mystery 3rd disc has gotten me annoyied

I don't even know what to think about that. Part of me went into immediate denial mode, thinking there's no way BioWare or EA would have done this. I mean, if you had all these amazing features, why remove them? If they've already been made, what do you gain by cutting them out?

Unless they were planning on releasing new modules as LeoSpike mentioned. That'd be...craptastic.

Our choices should matter. Hold the line.

The problem with that poll is that....how many voted no AND played the whole trilogy?

Because i see a LOT of people falling to the media but never actually bothered for the game.
So...that poll will never represent anything.

I just can't believe that people at BioWare actually consider this ending good. We don't really need clarification; if anything we would like to forget we played through them....

Somebody is going out of their way to make that happen.  You should see how much cheating goes on for "best actor polls" on media sites.

That's what I was thinking.  A fair number of voters may never have even played any ME game.  If this were a controversy relating to a series I had never played, I may by default have slight leanings towards the "leave the storyline alone" camp, being that I would liken it to someone writing in to JK Rowling saying "Make Dumbledore LIVE!"  Out of context, the movement is very hard to understand I think.

Maybe Shepard isn't meant to save the galaxy. Maybe the next ME game will be all about a new Hero trying to save Shepard from Indoctrination and finish the fight. Maybe then your imported saves will cause this new character to see the effects of the choices Shepard made.

All I know is, I'm having more fun farming Obsidian (and nearly dying to lava) in Minecraft than I am trying to slog through another ME playthrough. :P

It seems that Ray's comments can read in a number of ways but that most gaming sites are assuming that they are changing the endings. Am I reading him incorrectly?

Nops..

I don't see any mention that they are going to change the ending either. It is just too abstract to come up with that conclusion.

Besides, they said they would be working on the game, not that they will change the game. Working may include new DLCs (not ending though), patches, bug fixes, etc...

I am truly disappointed with Bioware.

They have given us many great games through many years, always delivered what was promised and it made their games bestsellers.

Now they are using PR techniques, double-talk and forgot the simplest of business rules - always maintain good relation with customers. I'm really getting annoyed with their new corporate "tactics".

They already spoiled whole ME series for me. If they do not deliver something really good (for me it is happy ending) then they can forget I was their customer. Never again...

I just wonder how in the world Dr. Muzyka may expect that ANY new game (not only in ME universe) will sell good, especially in preorder after whole this mess.

40% between yes and probably is a solid percentage of unhappy users, if I was Bioware I wouldn't be looking at that poll and think it was revealing anything positive.

Part of the so far silent majority joining the cause.

Willing to wait til PAX, if nothing is announced there to alter the ending....well....there are other companies then EA perfectly willing to take my money.

Until then, holding the line.

I am already waiting for Risen 2. I played Risen one and it was a really good game that let me roleplay and enjoy myself, both at the same time. It the sequel is anywhere near the first, it will be a good game. Plus we also have Ubisoft Assassin's Creed 3 around the corner, plus Diablo 3, Two Worlds 2 just released and expansion a couple of months back and so on.

In other words, there are plenty of good and great games around for us to pick one. If bioware doesn't deliver in time (or at all) we will just move on to other games and forget about Mass Effect and BIOWARE altogether...

I think this whole thing must have caught them by surprise so I guess I shouldn't begrudge them for scrambling and putting out confusing and contradictory statements.

I completely agree.  My guess is there are actually probably a myriad of opinions and ideas being thrown around the BioWare offices.  There's probably at least as many ideas about what their next move should be as there should have been alternate endings, but BioWare is waiting till it reaches consensus before it commits.

The problem I see is voice over. Imo voice over is the reason why they really won't be able to change the ending into something most of us would be *really* excited about.
They simply won't be able (or willing) to raise the needed resources to get e.g. Seth Green back to record a couple of additional lines for Joker. Same with all the other crewmembers.

I think what they are doing right now is trying to "piggyback" an altered ending into ME3 using the resources of the upcoming DLC (Omega ?). Which means they will be able to provide additional lines for Shephard and minor characters -but not our crewmembers.

So what I'm expecting is something along those lines:

-New dialogue options with the starchild that will add more exposition to the ending (resons for the reapers, perhaps an opportunity to debate him, etc...) but with no additional choices / consequences.
-a couple of short in-game cutscenes better elaborating the events around the Normandy, etc. There won't be any talking, though.
-Perhaps some epilogue slides with (perhaps narrated) text. Basically the only point that can give some closure to your crews / LI fate after the endings.

Than they shouldn't be calling it the end of the trilogy b/c all they did was invalidate almost everything you did because you are the now the villian, congratulations.

If it would be the last time you play as shepard than they need to give the player some resolution and show how our changes affected the future in the game they released.

Also, they would need to show it.  If the whole ending is a dream sequence and we seriously have to wait for ME4 to create a new hero to deal with whatever shepard couldn't, than what is the point.

You don't get to say, we have all these varied endings based on all the choices you have and than say wait for ME4.  Again if they want to take the story there fine, but I expect a proper ending and closure to what I have gone through with MY commander shepard, even if he turns evil.

This, exactly.

Guys, stop worrying about the gamefaqs poll.  It still leans toward 'do something about the ending' if you total everything up, even if 'no' is the biggest single option.  And how many of us would honestly say 'yes, change it' if we hadn't played the game yet?

Besides which, it's only one poll.

I think the main problem there are more people that are not organized, who never look into a forum. They just say what a waste and dont say anything or dont know they can.
People that where before this in these forums are sayin what they are thinking and cause of that we have to "Hold the Line" for them as well.
But everyone who is following this and reads every post hast to make there points in tne threads and polls, have to take there part on this more than just one post!
