Can EVERYONE make sure they take the Poll of the Day at Gamefaqs.com?
For some bizarre reason, we're barely holding the lead.
The poll is borked, and someone is probably stuffing the ballot box.
Well I know it's based on IP, and there are ways around that. Anyone able to do so should combat this. If I knew how, I certainly would. Something to do with using a changeable proxy.
Seriously though, what's the point?
a) The poll isn't accurate in any way, shape or form,. people know this. It's not going to get taken seriously. This movement isn't about trying to fix polls by going around IP walls and the like, we're honest, mature, funny and won't resort to such tactics.
c) BioWare won't be looking at this poll anyway!
Please ignore this stupid poll and stop talking about it! There are far better ways we can spend our time.
Bioware isn't the only thing we care about. More awareness on this issue is good regardless of it's source, when gamers see polls everywhere that say the ending sucks they'll be more likely to disbelieve the "It's only a few whiny fanboys throwing a tantrum" argument. When any journalist unaware of the issue looks up polls on the ending, regardless of their statistical accuracy, seeing them all point one way is a pretty big indication that it's not just "a few fanboys" that have a problem with the ending.
Though I do agree completely with you on point B, I don't condone falsifying of any data even if others are doing it.

After playing through 2 and seeing how ME1 ended I was honestly expecting that as well, the best ending would be the whole "fight like a krogan, run like a leopard, but you'll never be better than commander Shepard!" kind of ending like with 2, but no, instead I got owned by godchild logic.elirian_19 wrote...

What I wanted from the endings was a bad ending with the reapers winning, a middle ending where shep dies but beats reapers, and a good ending where shep lives.
Honestly? That was exactly what I was expecting. Call me a tired, old gamer stuck in the past, but I would have prefered that over... Starchild. <_<
yeah, i really expected to be able to turn and shoot ole elroy, head back down the elevator and go about your business

When I realized what games have meant to me in the 24 years that I am playing them, and how much I enjoy them, I believe I must do something to ensure their quality. Let the corporations know we will not be satisfied by mediocrity, but wish to enjoy the best they can give us.
I would gladly pay a fee for that, how insignificant the amount might be towards the total sum.
We're almost at 80k, come on people! Every cent counts! Make sure BioWare and EA can't ignore the number - convince THEM to chip in by delivering the quality we - and these kids - deserve!
HOLD THE LINE!

naw, the reaction from bw just has the people that were happy with the endings a poll that is easy to skew....somebody with time on their hands.....
and it's still 60-40 with people that think the end should be changed

Well, first of all, welcome. Second, we're trying to remain as calm and as civil as possible - though we know exactly how you feel, the entire forum was locked a while back because people were getting a little... heated. We want to avoid that.

If we want to win........remember
Keep posting - keep tweeting- keep talking to the news - getting articles out. We need to keep the pressure on them more than ever now.
If we just stop - guess what.......BW won't do a damn thing; they are business; and in as such we their customers/consumers to get any changes have to effect them economically.
Be respectful - treat others how you want to be treated; be civil.........

Probably because it is biased and there are 3 options that would come down to "yes" while there are only 2 questions that would come down to "No", so basically we are scattered in 3 answers while they are focused only in two answer.
Also, I do not trust this. Every other poll showed a completely different outcome. There is no way that only one poll will show this.
Also, let's go over the options we have..
"Yes, if it's what the users want, they should get it" = This should be what we stand for, however it says it's a matter of "wanting" not a matter of "deserving". As customers we bought a product that was not delivered with the quality and content promised. As someone said in a youtube video, if I go to a fancy restaurant and order a filet mignon steak, I will settle for anything less. That's what I want and that's what I am paying for, and hell I have the right to complain about it.. So once more, we do not WANT them to change the game, we only DESERVE WHAT WE PAID FOR...
"Probably, a lot of players seem angry about it" = This one labels us as angry kids. It doesn't acknowledge any of the mistakes and flaws from the game. It only says that it should change because we are angry about it.
"Maybe, if they feel it's the best thing for the story" = If they (Bioware/EA) feel is the best thing? They have said over and over that they do not think is the best thing for the story. The whole Artistic integrity argument over and over. This is NOT a YES, this is a NO in disguise...
"No, they shouldn't cave in to the fans' demands" = Again, they label us as whinning fans. They never mention that we have the right to get a quality product, the one we bought and never received.
"Absolutely not, it's their story, and they decide how it ends" = Finally, the one that clearly shows that we have no rights. IT's Bioware's story, not our.. I am holding back any comments here because they would be far from civil.
So, if you take your time to analyze the poll, not only it is a fluke since you can vote over and over and you do not need to own the game to vote in it, but the very options given to us are demeaning and offensive if you pay close attention...

Having said that, I'm completely astounded by some of these major gaming companies and how they continue to talk down to and contradict their readers. It would be too easy to say they've all been bought by EA... but that's really the only explanation I can come up with.
The only person that causes me to screw up my face and recoil from the screen is Colin Moriarty though. That guy rubs me up the wrong way on so many levels. He is condescending, arrogant and plain wrong in almost everything he says. But worst of all, he's a hypocrite, and a liar. I am truly disgusted by him. I don't believe for a second that he hasn't actually read up on our reasons for disliking the ending. I'm pretty sure he's just selective in what "facts" he chooses to represent, even though 90% of the time he flat out lies. i.e. "I liked the ending, and I represent a majority". Utter lies. I also don't believe he "spoke to the board and none thought changing the ending was a good idea". If there is a hell, a very angry demon is carving his name into a very special spot.

Other than this, Keeping calm and holding the line!

Agreed. While it's pretty understandable to question the integrity of big 'official' game articles and reviews, It's more likely that the polls are just showing what people vote, and since many, MANY people vote blind, not knowing a thing about the issue, especially on gamefaqs, the results are what they are, with no conspiracy involved.

"During the conversation in Virmire with Sovereign, the Reaper says:
- Your civilization is based on the technology of Mass Relays, our technology. By using it, your society develops along paths we desire. We impose order on the chaos or organic evolution. You exist because we allow it and you'll and because we demand it."
And in the third game the "god-child".
Explain about the technology singularity and how the created always gonna rebel against it creator.
But since, we evolve in Reaper desired paths, it's fault of Reapers that we came to a point of this happens. "

Basically he mentions the issue about artistic integrity and how Bioware does not want to change it, but further along, he quotes Muzyka's post, and says there may be a light down the tunnel.. Also talks about how disappointed the fans are and that's basically it.. My german is a bit rusty too...
