Its damage control. If they dont let us rant here where they can keep an eye on things, then we'd pop up all over the internet. Better to have us in one place and keep an eye on us in the long run.

Same here, we have all remained respectful on here and even when others seemed to be getting out of hand we politly asked them to calm down. So thank you Bioware for allowing us to have constructive conversations within your fourms. All be it my position on the argument has not changed and will continue to debate this with everyone till we hear otherwise in April.

Let's all remember that Bioware has been pretty darn patient with us the last week. We've started a boycott drive ON THEIR FORUMS lol. We pretty much condemned them and ran a massive PR Media Campaign ON THEIR FORUMS. I don't know about you but that's pretty insane.. if I owned a store and you showed up and started doing that I'd probably have just called the cops.

Keep the vitriol out of the comments please. Let's not become what the media has accused us of being. We've gotten what we wanted, lets show them that we CAN be happy and we're not just ranting anti-authoritarians who complain about everything just to do it.

Well DA2 had alot of rage threads when it came out, I think they were hope the flames would die down like it had before. Bannings and massive thread lockdowns is a garenteed way to disenfranchise fans, ignoring them somehow is easier to forgive.

Banning thousands of well intentioned people would be the best thing that could happen to this movement, it would infuriate tons of people, myself included who would take their boycott of Bioware and participation in this discussion a step farther.

Weren't there some other designs too?  I remember some of them weren't actually made available but you could download the zips and put them into a site like...Zazzle or something.

Dunno, all I remember is the motivational images. Maybe another poster saved the ones that you mention Image IPB

It would be better if someone could provide us with another forum, this site has a rule about starting a thread on a topic that's closed.

Actually you know what, scratch getting a new forum. Let's get a website. We could make it all official-looking with a mission statement and a logo. And have multiple pages for all the pre-release dev quotes, atghunter's PR assessments, the works. Then we'd be able to organize and present a united front. We have a chatroom somewhere for communication (or we could move it to Facebook and Twitter).

It maybe a priviledge to post here, but in reality the other option is Bioware bans thousands or tens of thousands of users who are unhappy about their Deus Ex Machina ending, creating a PR and Marketing ****storm.

Yes we should be respectful and constructive but stop giving us that line that posting here is a priviledge, it's true but the power swings both ways.

Not really.  We've exercised our power for the last two weeks, they've given us what we've wanted.  The longer we throw around rants and demands to use their servers/bandwidth to try to perform a detrimental effect to their primary purpose (the business of making money through video game design), the more we make all of those media outlets who called us childish and entitled seem right.

PR isn't just blanketing the enemy lines with suppressive fire.. it's also knowing when to make peace and join back with them as allies.  If you don't want to do that, perhaps sitting in the "enemy's" headquarters isn't the place for you haha.

Whether it's PR, Damage control, or just plain simple supporting of the freedom of expression and a belief that out of discussion comes positive things, and I am inclined to believe the latter rather than the former, the BioWare moderators deserve credit where credit is due. This thread could have been shut down many times, but instead they have steered clear of direct intervention and trusted in our ability to self manage. Which, thanks specifically to some key people, and generally to the rest of us, we have done admirably.

So yes, thank you BioWare for being the bigger man here and letting us discuss this as we saw fit. You haven't gone down in my estimation here in any way, shape or form. I respect you all the more for it.

I wandered over from the PR thread a little while ago and honestly im surprised it was locked. While pretty  much EVERYONE was polite and civil the thread had been derailed into the realm of ripping into various anit-movement publications and was on the verge of total collapse despite everyone's attempts to say civil. I would like to point out that I have posted on this thread a few times and I am astounded that a civil, polite debate has continued for over 2000 pages. Thank you to both Bioware for allowing to continue to discuss our view and to Mr. Connery for always remining us to remain civil and providing some wonderful links.

I don't think it  would be the best thing to happen to us, but still the backlash from doing so would be no less than gargantuan.

Here's the thing, are you willing to take the risk and possibly spoil it for everyone else?, that's not an attack, it's a genuine question, we should not be thinking as individuals in this case, but as a group.

Please do not embed or quote images, it might be seen as spam and then we run the risk of getting the thread closed
Please edit your quotes in order to reduce pyramids, this is very helpful to others reading.
Please do not bump the thread, it just takes a few minutes to think up meaningful content, the thread has a strong enough following to maintain it's presence on the forum.
Please do not use the term "troll" in any context, it is against forum rules to refer to anyone as a troll, if you are having problems with a member of these forums, use the report link or PM the moderators, but do it quietly, do not engange in arguments.
Above all, be respectful to each other.

We are open to valid criticism, but there are far too many lies and outright falsehoods here such as the ridiculous accusation that we buy reviews. That is enough BioWare/EA abuse. The thread is now closed.

My point being that all the power on these forums does not lay solely in Bioware's hands. It is their forums, and we should be civil, and respectful towards them. That being said, they will likely not mass censor or mass ban us because of the Marketing and PR repercussions as long as we stay united in our goal to retake mass effect 3 and provide free and improved endings. Perhaps validate the indoctrination theory and we will all sing their praises for being friggin geniuses.

Hi, guys. Any news?

Humm. Am I the only one who thinks that the final mission of ME3 doesn't have the same strength than the suicide mission in ME2?. Maybe it's just the music, I don't know.

For some reason, I have the odd feeling that we haven't won yet. Until we see a proper ending we must hold the line.

I too appreciate Bioware for allowing a strong dissenting opinion.

However, the "PR" thread was not the caustic hot house it is being portrayed as. Sure, there were some insinuations and some people took speculation beyond reason, but just as many people reacted against those positions and encouraged civility and rational thinking.

But it remains Bioware's board and they can shut down any thread for any reason that seems good to them - it is their right and I respect that. I may not like like it, but I can live with it.

Unlike the ending of ME 3, which I do not like and refuse to accept!
