don't get it, I've been lurking around for a while and I have yet to see anything that states anything has been accomplished, what have you seen to indicate that Retake has won? Bioware themselves said they wouldn't be making anything official till April.

It's also a really bad idea, have you met some of the general public?

That would mean going outside, are you mad  *twitch*

Good point. Well made. Well, have you seen some of the people in here?

Great thread. I just hope Bioware gets the message about the specifics and doesn't just try and change a few things up at the end. The whole battle needs to be significantly fleshed out.

I want to play the arrival and shadow broker DLC so bad! I had no idea they were even available. *sighs waiting patiently*. I finally was able to play ME1 again. I named my femshep hope, corny I know but what can I say :)

I knew what was coming and I just beat the game. The whole thing is still a mind **** and I just have a sense of dissatisfaction right now. I hate how Shepard will most likely never see his squad and how the relay network is destroyed and how Shepard's choices were just invalidated.

Another Forbes article which may have got overlooked but may go some way to explain why certain critics feel the need to give glowing reviews for games:

http://www.forbes.co...egative-review/

Make your own minds up, of course.

The only thing I am surprised at is that this information actually came out. I remember this controversy well. It woke me up from the naive belief that those gaming sites are objective.

I will never get over ME3 ending. Unless they make a very awesome one, not just an explanation.
The lack of a happier ending makes me not want to play it ever again...

Actually, I hope they start putting "tragedy" on the covers.

Argh... I could shout right now but it is 1am and I can't. I hate to swallow my anger. That is not good. BTW Bioware can be happy not to reside in germany, cause than some people could have sued them for mental cruelty ( I had real physical complaints after I finished the game). I would not do that but it is possible.

I am glad it seems Bioware is open to doing something about the whole ending(s) debacle. However, after reading IGN's article on it, I got the feeling that whatever they are working on is oriented towards clarifying the ending(s) we got....which is not really the issue. It's the endings themselves (and their lack of logic/closure/hope etc) that has bothered so many fans.

I just hope the company plans this carefully and doesn't make the mistake of making...less than accurate promises once more.

And please let them keep in mind that we want other endings....not epilogue/prologue cut scenes trying to explain what clearly makes no sense at all.

I don't know what will happen moving forward, but I hope we get a satisfying conclusion to this issue because Mass Effect is an incredible game, and it deserves to be remembered as such.

Yeah, cause all I heard throughout my playthrough was how I was a peacemaker and a beacon of hope... building hope is all well and good if something will come out of it. Not a galaxy that is "saved" but screwed over at the same time.

There is not a thing wrong with corny at this point in time.

Guys, guys, guys!

I'm starting to see a bit of chaos nipping at the order of this thread.

In the real world, we have freedom of speech. On here, we're on private property...and it's not ours. We have to be respectful of our hosts, even though we're trying to change something they did.

We start getting all 'flamish' now, we're going to lose this thread...and they'll just stomp out any re-attempt to start it for fear of the same behavior. If this thread closes because of inappropriate behavior, we'll have brought it on -ourselves-.

So everyone just relax, and just stay civil.

Don't you worry! We have moved on. We are now talking about the ending. Join us!

This is the best I came up with the ending (I do not believe the Inoctrination Theory).

So the God Child makes sure
organics develop a certain way. Due to that certain way they will
eventually create synthetics. Then, in order to protect organics from
synthetics, they create synthetics to kill organics so that organics
don't create synthetics that will kill organics. Pretty much sums up the
ending.

So true, especially since the tagline was to "take back Earth". We built up this huge army and barely saw any of the actual "taking back" part.

BioWare said the ending(s) would make some people upset. The Mass Effect series is a dark sci-fi series, the best you can expect for almost anything in it is bittersweet. I mean...each Mass Effect game had a heroic, yet bittersweet ending. The "happiest" one would be Mass Effect 1, and even then, you knew impending doom was coming.

There are so many things wrong with this post....

Mass Effect is not a dark sci-fi series. It does not show a dystopian or post apocaliptic future, it does not show a militaristic culture like Halo or Gears. If anything, it shows a bright future that is endangered by an old threat.
As to "bittersweet endings", did you play the same games that I did?In ME1 you manage to overcome a threat million of years old. That not bittersweet, that is ultimate victory. Then on ME2, if you played your cards right, you could rape the  Collectors in brutal fashion, making what was once called a suicide mission, the greatest ass-kicking in the historyof the universe.
Seriously, some people need to get out of the "happy endings are bs" bandwagon. Every kind of ending is cliché because it has already been done.

I agree!
Jermey Jahns ( people love this guy, so do I) said it best:

"I understand the common belief in epics like these is the hero has to die, but the phrase the hero has to anything in a game like Mass Effect that's built around choice and you picking your own destiny, it goes against everything that Mass Effect is all about. If someone plays good the entire time they should earn a good ending".

Sums it up nicely.

I fully am expecting their "fix" will just be an epilogue that "explains" the endings because clearly the problem is we just dont get their brilliance!

I may have to resort to writing a "pick'n'mix" series of fanfic epilogues. Every possible pairing, every possible death/life.

Then wire it all up in some site so you can check boxes of how yours ended and you get a finished document...

After checking in and out of the thread this evening its clear people our frustrated but we must simply be patient until April.

So just relax and imagine that ending, the one that could be, with the main characters at a reunion years after victory, celebrating on the citadel, in the shade of garrus' bronzed statue.

All I really ask from Bioware is to let my Shepard is to LIVE and NOT BLOW THE RELAYS UP. Is that so WRONG?
Am I being unreasonable?

For people feeling bad about alot of people bashing us. that they think we are a bunch of whiners, all the accusations thrown at us for random reasons. Guys... Guys... why do you think we are holding this line? To put on makeup and gossip? maybe braid eachothers hair? We are here in the good AND the bad times!, if they want to insult us, let them, we HOLD the line... They call us Whiny brats? we know better and stick to our beliefs, and hold the line!.

This is the time when we actually start holding the line, its not some nice quote to toss in there for ****s and giggles, this is why we must stand as one, with our reason, with our logic, with our passion, not agression, dont provoke others... as long as we hold this line. TOGETHER!

-motivational speech over.
