Yeah, cause all I heard throughout my playthrough was how I was a peacemaker and a beacon of hope... building hope is all well and good if something will come out of it. Not a galaxy that is "saved" but screwed over at the same time.

If they keep the ending, they might want to revise their genre and add tragedy. That was like a version of those SyFy movies where everyone dies or they get stuck some island and it's just as bad as dying (if not worse)

ending.

Actually, I hope they start putting "tragedy" on the covers.

I may have to resort to writing a "pick'n'mix" series of fanfic epilogues. Every possible pairing, every possible death/life.

Then wire it all up in some site so you can check boxes of how yours ended and you get a finished document...

Damn, if you pulled that off Xyalon, it'd be awesome!

Okay, I'm almost afraid to ask, but... what's been happening in the last 8 hours?

I fully am expecting their "fix" will just be an epilogue that "explains" the endings because clearly the problem is we just dont get their brilliance!

Oh dear, if this happened, my feelings might actually devolve into anger.

OK, and as a fall back position I created this place;

http://thecitidel.pr...s.com/index.cgi

Yes, it is basic but I've had zero reason to start a message board for any reason before...I'll work on it when I'm not quite as comatose....

I have another question. Is it a good idea to start another ME1 playthrough?

Sounds to me as a name that fits with what you lose at the end of the game.

Got your poster?

I did get my poster! It was a poster for Gamestop promotion announcing that they were giving out free N7 Tshirts...which I apparently missed because it was last Friday :crying:
But hey, I got the poster. And no one saw it. I felt like such a bad person, but no one would miss it anyways. Someone would've come tomorrow and cleaned the bulletin board and take it down.

I'm just as happy focusing on other things, like whether or not Liara's head tendrils can move independently... and what Garrus is having for lunch on board a Human vessel.

Ok so wtf happened to the PR thread? I went to mail a letter off to Bioware regarding Ray's statements and now it's been locked down. Is Bioware finally bringing down the hammer on threads opposing them?

As far as a decent ending goes, I hold out hope that, at the worst, some enterprising machinima creator might come up with something decent if we don't get anything from official sources.

i have this dream idea which i know wont ever happen.

WHAT IF bioware revamped ME1 and ME2 and then COMBINED ALL 3 games into ONE game.

this includes ALL missions ALL side missions and so forth all rolled into one and at certain stages a cut scene showing the reapers starting to assemble for the invasion.

like doing all the missions from the first one prompts a cut scene showing you whats happening in the galactic core seeing the collector ship being launched then as you finish the 5th to last mission of part one and then at the 3rd to last mission a cut scene is shown entering the mass effect galactic core relay and entering our system, then after the last mission of the first part shows the collector ship doing its job which would be the start of the second part of the game and so on, with various new cut scenes showing the reapers coming to get us.

its just an idea i would love to see

Exactly. In every other Bioware game I have played, there is always a way to somewhat "happy" (or not totally screw over everyone ending). Why is it that this amazing series (my favorite of all time) have to end on such a sour note? And having the crew survive on a jungle planet is not a happy or even bittersweet ending. It is just... just  and then :crying:

And the revive for that thread was locked because apparently it's OP contained lies and such. SO not the posters, but apparently the OP with all the information was the problem.

Re post because my last one was eaten by this exponentially growing thread

I was having a dicussion with a friend barely an hour ago. He finished the game yesterday and he can't work it out at all and he is disapointed and I agree how our Shepards journey ended.

That aside we also came to the conclusion that with in a sci-fi universe when the author's create their own fictional rule they must adehre to it I.e the Mass Effect "rule" is that for society in this universe to work Mass Effect technology is needed. By removeing that technology the writers have essentaily truncated their ability to continue with Mass Effect (Unless the opportunity to fix the Relays is added).

Futhermore why don't we get even the option to get a happy ending what wrong with it. ME2 it was possible to get a perfect ending with everyone surviving and everything happy clappy execept for the intel that the reapers are coming. Between the two of us we agreed that this would be a best case scenario but even if we didn't get a perfect ending we wanted to see a bittersweet ending with worthwhile sacrifice rather than almost identical non-sencicle linear path we were given.

The final point me and my friend wish to raise is why did war assests (A key plot point) have such a limited appearence in the battle for eath. Cast your mind back to ME2 with the suicide mission where you designated specialists for particular tasks. That gave you a real sense of control an element we feel was missing from the Final Battle of Earth.

My friend feels that a large chunk of the final mission pre-beam rush and post-beam rush should be rewritten to draw together choises from all three games.

Sorry for death by text but we felt that we would just air our views.

So true, especially since the tagline was to "take back Earth". We built up this huge army and barely saw any of the actual "taking back" part.

I remember when the CGI trailer came out and you saw Shepard and Ashley step out onto Earth, and behind them was the huge army they amassed to help them take back Earth.

I was really looking forward to the feeling I had when I saw that trailer.

Sadly, we only got glimpses in the actual game.

Edited to add that I can't believe the PR thread was locked either.  Most of it was analysis.  If there were so-called "lies" in the OPs first post, I don't understand why a moderator couldn't have just contacted the OP and directed them to take down the posts/links they took issue with. :(

"The Turians and Quarians trapped in the Sol System die of starvation.

A Famine happens on all planets invaded by the Reapers because of the loss of farmland.

Tuchanka devolves into a world of total anarchy without Wrex's leadership.

It takes 1,000 years for species to develop a substitute for the relays.

The Quarians take 500 years to adapt to Rannoch without their lifesuits without aid from the Geth.

Garrus and Tali die of starvation, the planet the Normandy lands on becomes an incest planet and later an Asari planet because of Liara.

Liara dies extremely depressed at the age of 200 because of the hardship of seeing deformed incest human children and seeing all of her crew die painfulyl around her.

Shepard commits suicide after losing every one he cared for."

And that's Bioware's clarification of what happens if you pick the destroy ending!
