Not unreasonable.  Under the context of variety (which they promised) it is certainly reasonable.

I think we need to stress this though:

We don't want the endings tailored to include a list of things we want to see, but rather we want the diverse, multiple endings that reflect the range of choices and playstyles that was advertised.

If we get too specific on what we want to be seeing, ie: purple babies and puppy dogs, we start to lose some of that credibility we built up by pointing out that the advertised product does not match the product we all bought.

Re post because my last one was eaten by this exponentially growing thread

I was having a dicussion with a friend barely an hour ago. He finished the game yesterday and he can't work it out at all and he is disapointed and I agree how our Shepards journey ended.

That aside we also came to the conclusion that with in a sci-fi universe when the author's create their own fictional rule they must adehre to it I.e the Mass Effect "rule" is that for society in this universe to work Mass Effect technology is needed. By removeing that technology the writers have essentaily truncated their ability to continue with Mass Effect (Unless the opportunity to fix the Relays is added).

Futhermore why don't we get even the option to get a happy ending what wrong with it. ME2 it was possible to get a perfect ending with everyone surviving and everything happy clappy execept for the intel that the reapers are coming. Between the two of us we agreed that this would be a best case scenario but even if we didn't get a perfect ending we wanted to see a bittersweet ending with worthwhile sacrifice rather than almost identical non-sencicle linear path we were given.

The final point me and my friend wish to raise is why did war assests (A key plot point) have such a limited appearence in the battle for eath. Cast your mind back to ME2 with the suicide mission where you designated specialists for particular tasks. That gave you a real sense of control an element we feel was missing from the Final Battle of Earth.

My friend feels that a large chunk of the final mission pre-beam rush and post-beam rush should be rewritten to draw together choises from all three games.

Sorry for death by text but we felt that we would just air our views.

Exactly. In every other Bioware game I have played, there is always a way to somewhat "happy" (or not totally screw over everyone ending). Why is it that this amazing series (my favorite of all time) have to end on such a sour note? And having the crew survive on a jungle planet is not a happy or even bittersweet ending. It is just... just  and then :crying:

I know, right? Even in DA:O where I was ready to let my Warden die for the sake of Ferelden, we get some ritual that will save your character. There has always been hope in every Bioware game I've played so far, especially ME. And now...this. It was so out of character and radical.

We are here in the good AND the bad times!, if they want to insult us, let them, we HOLD the line... They call us Whiny brats? we know better and stick to our beliefs, and hold the line!.

This is the time when we actually start holding the line, its not some nice quote to toss in there for ****s and giggles, this is why we must stand as one, with our reason, with our logic, with our passion, not agression, dont provoke others... as long as we hold this line. TOGETHER!

I don't know if anyone else saw the tweet this morning regarding the ending from @masseffect. I saw it on the datapad app.

Basically they said that they were going to "preserve the artistic integrity" of the game.

In other words, we're not getting the ending that the game deserves. We might get some clarification or something, but we're stuck with an ending that doesn't fit the game it ends. It's not artistic. It's incongruous.

After I read that tweet, I was bummed out all morning. I'd been holding out some small amount of hope, still, despite the odds. I'm sure that they will announce something, but it's not going to be good news for us.

So all we can do is keep pushing. Let's hope that other fans of the series will join us as they beat the game. Because Mass Effect 3 could have been great. It was great, right up until the ending.

But now I'm having to head canon my Shepard's story ending with Anderson. As they watch Earth, the Crucible fires. And depending on my mood, the energy manages to kill Shepard in the process, or Shepard dies after seeing it activate, or someone comes to rescue her when they notice the Reapers falling, and it's too late--or just in time. Also the Mass Effect relays remain intact.

Seriously, if they wanted to continue the franchise, why did they destroy the Relays? It's not as if they hadn't said in the past that they were going to make further games. This was supposed to be the end of Shepard's story, not the end of the entire ME universe.

Excuse me for the rant, but I'm still feeling betrayed and mournful. RIP Mass Effect franchise.

Before that tweet I'd actually considered that, if they dealt with the situation well and I found their future games to be "safe" after reading every spoiler I could, I might play them. But now? They'd have to do something really surprising like actually build on the indoctrination concept and give us a real ending (which they've already pretty much said they aren't doing) before I'd consider it.

I still want to be a Bioware fan, but I'm not sure if I can.

When i finished the game, i was sad, confused and depressed. And then i found this. Our movement. Our resistance. I saw hundreds even thousands of pages forged by brave fans expressing their oppinion. Never before have i witnessed such tenacity, but most importantly, such civil organized movement. Look around you, see what we have accomplished, we have gathered over 80 K for chairity. This would've  gone over three digits had the charity been allowed to continue. We have MAJOR media standing by our shoulders.

Would you ever have imagined this? This has gone far beyond bioware. Look at some of the hateful IGN editors tweets. Look on how biased some media coverage is. THIS is the tipping point! NO LONGER shall we admit EA and other game producers to push *art* through our screens.

You cannot give up hope, not now, not when we've accomplished so much-- come so far together.

Stand Strong,
Stand United,
Stand Together!

Definatly want to see Krogan and Rachni troops in action as allies (if you qualify), with respect to the latter them not being mere mentions in the Hackett cutscene explaining they were helping with Citadel construction. Never even got to see a Rachni spaceship - so much was shortcut that way, it was a missed opportunity.

Yeah. I felt a little slimy doing the Dark Ritual thing at first, but I wanted my Cousland and Alistair to be together. But at least we had options. Heroic sacrifice with an actual memorial afterward that was beyond touching. I wanted something like that for Shepard. Even if it needed to be bittersweet (which I hoped wouldn't be the case), I wanted something a little more personal to our own Shepards. Not just the generic RGB cutscenes and Normany scene.

And that's Bioware's clarification of what happens if you pick the destroy ending!

I have thought of most of these things before, but the bolded parts are so horrible that it made me lol :lol:

I'd also like to add that we need a failure ending where the Reapers win. Because seriously, what is the point of doing a high-risk mission like taking every races' military to fight all the Reapers if success is the only outcome? It feels hollow then. In ME2 everyone could die if you completely ****ed up, so why not here?

The irony of that is we are all being accused of just wanting a "Happy" ending. I choose to sacrifice my character for Ferelden, felt fitting for me. The thing that made it more poignant to me was having that choice. I actually teared up during the epilogue and credits.

But as far as ME3 goes, I was just left angry, bitter, and resentful.
