I fully am expecting their "fix" will just be an epilogue that "explains" the endings because clearly the problem is we just dont get their brilliance!

Oh dear, if this happened, my feelings might actually devolve into anger.

"The Turians and Quarians trapped in the Sol System die of starvation.

A Famine happens on all planets invaded by the Reapers because of the loss of farmland.

Tuchanka devolves into a world of total anarchy without Wrex's leadership.

It takes 1,000 years for species to develop a substitute for the relays.

The Quarians take 500 years to adapt to Rannoch without their lifesuits without aid from the Geth.

Garrus and Tali die of starvation, the planet the Normandy lands on becomes an incest planet and later an Asari planet because of Liara.

Liara dies extremely depressed at the age of 200 because of the hardship of seeing deformed incest human children and seeing all of her crew die painfulyl around her.

Shepard commits suicide after losing every one he cared for."

And that's Bioware's clarification of what happens if you pick the destroy ending!

Sorry wrong, in the script we've been digging through in the game files dump... the buzz aldrin grandaddy scene is scripted as "10,000 years in the future".... 10k years and they haven't GOTTEN OFF THEIR PLANET YET. We've had only 2k years of getting out of the bronze age and we've gotten off our planet and to our moon and to Mars. They're basically technologically inept after ME3 it seems.

Well, that epilogue scene wasn't on Earth (you know, because Earth doesn't have two planets visible in its' night sky) and that planet never gets the technology for space travel. Then again wouldn't they have been discovered? Does this mean we needed the Reaper technology?

This ending really is a mind****. I learned about this three days before launch and I beat the game today. It is just a mind****. I know someone on my XBL friends list who thought I was taking it out of proportion but then he played the ending and he's on the same boat as me. I think one of my real life friends will think the same once he finishes the game.

I know, right? Even in DA:O where I was ready to let my Warden die for the sake of Ferelden, we get some ritual that will save your character. There has always been hope in every Bioware game I've played so far, especially ME. And now...this. It was so out of character and radical.

The irony of that is we are all being accused of just wanting a "Happy" ending. I choose to sacrifice my character for Ferelden, felt fitting for me. The thing that made it more poignant to me was having that choice. I actually teared up during the epilogue and credits.

But as far as ME3 goes, I was just left angry, bitter, and resentful.

Even worse for me, I was fully prepared to sacrifice my warden, but Alistair (my LI) refused to let her. Suffice to say, I was absolutely heartbroken that he would sacrifice himself for me, but I wasn't surprised. Boy did I cry a lot, though.

I made my choice, and I saw the consequences of that choice. Even if I didn't want that ending, I could just go back and change it. But I thought it was a fitting end to her tale.

Yeah. When I sacrificed my Alistair loving warden, I had to not bring him with me for the final battle... which sucked, but I knew that he wouldn't let me do it. So much choice and actual closure for the characters. That was how I pictured Mass Effect 3 would be. But the choices that we made didn't really come through in the end.

Pretty much. Except: Childs Play just asked us to stop because it had to face too many difficulties that came tied to our money.

Wait.  What???

I missed that.  the charity asked us to stop??

Yeah because apparently people didn't understand that donating to child's play doesn't mean child's play supports our stance.

I hope it isn't needed either.

It was an idea that had been swirling around my brain* for a while...in fact my original intention was to start up a gaming review site written by gamers for gamers.

Of course this was at 4am, when such things seem like a great idea. Thankfully I realised that A; I can hardly do that myself as I don't get that many games and don't have any consoles. And B; I'd have a nervous breakdown trying to organise and run it.

I think I'll settle for 'Emergency base' for now....

Here's something I was just thought about. Does anybody think that they should have taken another year to develop the game overall, I know delays suck but sometimes it's needed. I know the ending is the main focus, but truth be they could have added a lot more content overall. Also considering they had already pushed the release date back what 4-5 months? and they still didn't have enough time to finish the game. Maybe they could've avoided all this if they hadn't decided to rush it...

Reminds me of Obsidian and Kotor 2

I wouldn't go that far; KOTOR 2 was very poorly done and that was evident throughout the game. The graphics, gameplay and story were sub-par to the original KOTOR and the ending was dull as opposed to confusing.

What we've got here is a case of Bio-Ware playing like a star and dropping the ball with 4 seconds left on the clock, whereas KOTOR coudn't even dribble.

Yup, on several occasions, though now decades past, be sure to get some help with moderating, and certainly put up rules of conduct.

"I have been in contact with a manager at Child's Play. First, he wanted to stress how grateful they were for our efforts here, and the huge impact it will have in helping the charity. However, he pointed out that several sources are incorrectly assuming a link between the charity and the petition, or outright support of the petition by the charity. This has been a source of difficulty for them, and it has been requested that we wind this effort down. Again, I want to stress that the charity is not unhappy with our work, they are exceptionally pleased with what we have accomplished.

There will be conspiracy theorys regarding this. Many of the public statements by Penny Arcade have been dismissive or outright derogatory of our effort. I believe this is a failure on their part to understand our issues, but they are entitled to their opinion. Regardless, I want to stress that I do not believe for one second that this is an attempt by anyone at Penny Arcade to silence this movement.

I also want you all to know I am acting unilaterally in this decision. I have been provided many eloquent arguments against winding down the drive and I appreciate them. In the end, however, I believe that now is the time for this phase of the process to come to an close."

Edit: This is from the person who set it up and has closed it down.

Oh, so so want this....first thing I see when I get back on the forum after late classes today...:crying:

Bioware give me my Shenko babies.

You know, it's funny.  I never even considered the possibility of Shepard having a 'happily ever after' like that until reading these forums.  Maybe because my Shep romanced Thane and it was pretty obvious that could never be an option.  But even then... I just never thought she was the settling down type.

It's interesting how people have such different ideas about who Shepard is.  I'm curious to see what news we'll get in April.  Does 'maintaining the artistic vision' or whatever Ray said mean that Shepard still dies no matter what, we just get more filled-in cutscenes for the rest of the characters?

'Content initiative' is an interesting (and vague) choice of words.

Me too! I thought ME3 would have an amazing ending like DA:O.

And I could never make Alistair sacrifice himself for my Warden, so I always do the ritual thing. If there is one thing I'm more obsessed than Shenko babies is Alistair XD

And talking along these lines, one thing that made me feel very annoyed about ME3 ending was that your LI basically abandoned you at the end of the game. I mean, wouldn't they die with you? I was expecting at least a little bit of sadness...but nope, Kaidan was smiling when he got off the Normandy...

I would have preferred the ME series to not be able to dribble.

That way I'd have never gotten so emotionally invested.  And I wouldn't be crying myself to sleep every night.  With a picture of Liara under my pillow.  And dreaming of blue squid children.

I'm hopeless.

It wasn't on Earth, you could assume it was the planet the Normandy crashes on. So people saying they FTL'd (which is impossible anway, as has been discussed. Galactic travel is IMPOSSIBLE in Mass Effect without the Mass Relays, nihilus says it as one of the first things he says to you in Mass Effect 1.) are just wrong... they obvioulsly aren't found. That leaves to the obvious question of, is everyone else extinct like you mention above? Did all the other planets NOT recover? Even in Synthesis, no matter which option you pick... the Relays explode and you get this Buzz Aldrin ending, which is supposed to be 10k years in the future that clearly shows they don't even have space flight again yet.

I think that might be the final nail in the coffin for me with ME... like... they literally destroyed their own IP like we've been saying but that just sort of solidifes it in my mind. I'm embarassed for them honestly.
