If Bioware *does* do that, I'll make a Femshep in their honor and have wild lovemaking with Kaiden for Shenko babies.

But first I want my squiddy kiddies!

Babies for all!! :wizard:

Babies for all.

[crowd boos]

Very well, no babies for anyone.

[crowd boos]

Hmm... Babies for some, miniature Garrus statues for others.

You know, it's funny.  I never even considered the possibility of Shepard having a 'happily ever after' like that until reading these forums.  Maybe because my Shep romanced Thane and it was pretty obvious that could never be an option.  But even then... I just never thought she was the settling down type.

Shepard and Kolyat paying respects to the mounment dedicated to his father, and Kolyat eventually coming to see you as, if not quite motherly figure, close friend and confidant. You help him integrate more fully into society and help him with his work at a resetllement camp in Rannoch (the Arid atmosphere is good for him) and bring him to peace with who he is and finally comes to accept and heal the rift between him and his late father.

There, happy even for Thane romancers.

Even worse for me, I was fully prepared to sacrifice my warden, but Alistair (my LI) refused to let her. Suffice to say, I was absolutely heartbroken that he would sacrifice himself for me, but I wasn't surprised. Boy did I cry a lot, though.

I made my choice, and I saw the consequences of that choice. Even if I didn't want that ending, I could just go back and change it. But I thought it was a fitting end to her tale.

Yeah. When I sacrificed my Alistair loving warden, I had to not bring him with me for the final battle... which sucked, but I knew that he wouldn't let me do it. So much choice and actual closure for the characters. That was how I pictured Mass Effect 3 would be. But the choices that we made didn't really come through in the end.

Me too! I thought ME3 would have an amazing ending like DA:O.

And I could never make Alistair sacrifice himself for my Warden, so I always do the ritual thing. If there is one thing I'm more obsessed than Shenko babies is Alistair XD

And talking along these lines, one thing that made me feel very annoyed about ME3 ending was that your LI basically abandoned you at the end of the game. I mean, wouldn't they die with you? I was expecting at least a little bit of sadness...but nope, Kaidan was smiling when he got off the Normandy...

Yeah, like KOTOR how Carth comes back to try and talk Revan out of turning to the Dark Side. I know that the ending where you can turn back was cut from the game for time purposes. But even without it, he does come back and dies because he loves her. But in ME3, Kaidan supposedly leaves Shepard's side and goes back to the Normandy. Joker leaving was hard enough to believe, but Kaidan? The "I can't lose you again" Kaidan? Yeah... I can't believe that as cannon.

Yes, me too! When Shepard collapsed in front of the console (just before the magic elevator), I kept expecting Kaidan and Garrus to show up (since they were my final squadmates). But when they didn't I feared they were dead. Seeing Kaidan coming out of the Normandy, smiling alongside Joker was when it finally sunk in that I was really unhappy with the ending.

No worries, thought it would be good to clarify.

I think the emails thing was more to do with a break from here. Getting fan and hate mail on a daily basis when it's not their job to deal with it can drain anyone.

So, my Econ class has a facebook group to discuss hw questions and stuff, and today we missed an opportunity to get the exam curved by 10%

So someone posted this video as an explanation to our feelings...ME3 is literally taking over my life, guys. This is scary.

It's interesting how people have such different ideas about who Shepard is.  I'm curious to see what news we'll get in April.  Does 'maintaining the artistic vision' or whatever Ray said mean that Shepard still dies no matter what, we just get more filled-in cutscenes for the rest of the characters?

'Content initiative' is an interesting (and vague) choice of words.

I think that's precisely what it means--that the ending isn't changing.  We probably won't even get more cut scenes.  Maybe more dialogue with the Starchild and an epilogue, and they'll expect us to be happy with that.

I don't care if the ending is happy--yeah, I like happy endings, but I also love sad ones.  All I wanted was an ending befitting the rest of the game, and the previous two.  Whether that means Shepard dies or Shepard survives and adopts little krogans with Garrus, it doesn't much matter.  But I don't like that the entire ME universe got destroyed in this process, or that there's nothing sweet about the "bittersweet" ending.  Or that we didn't get anything the devs promised us.

I appreciate every part of the game, except for the ending.  No, it wasn't perfect, but it was one of the best games I played until the last few minutes ruined the entire series.  I'm still replaying, but... I'm dreading the ending.

Absolutely.  I have nothing but respect for the guy.  He handled himself better than an entire Media Relations department would have this week.

I don't get what you're talking at.

At first I was thinking why you started it up and called it thecitidel instead of thecitadel....

The name was chosen after a crack team of writers sat down to come up with a name that would create pleanty of speculation. If you don't understand that it is your fault...and nothing what so-ever with not being able to spell. :P

and didn't bioware plan on doing things AFTER shepard's story? how is blowing up the relays gonna help with that? that was one of the key elements that made it stand apart from other sci-fi franchises.

I think we should not expect or want something like that. This is stuff for the prologe text or maybe even for you own imagination and there should still be room for that.

Exactly my thoughts! The image doesn't lie, Bioware, he was smiling. How do you explain that?!

It wasn't just little plotholes...99% of all the character's actions were...wrong. Just plain wrong. Yes, if you've never played or cared about ME in your life, you'll be fine with the ending, but if you have...
