Yes yes. Let's talk about the main topic: the awesome ending

atghunter was so nice to answer me, regarding Dr. Ray Muzykas statement:

First, thank you so much for your e-mail and my profound apologies for being slow to respond (I am old and my mailbox is full).

I didn't have time to do more than a quick read at work yesterday when Mr. Muzyka's blog came out. Here's what I wrote:

"I enjoyed reading Mr. Muzyka’s blog. It’s pretty much just PR stuff I
suspect. This is probably no real change from Friday’s developments
where the current environment seems to have shifted to a mode that is
not only cognitive of product dissatisfaction on some level with the
fans, but one that provides a message that they are considering actions
to redress that dissatisfaction. As mentioned before, real progress or
deflection? Too soon to tell. Please be patient."

I later posted that Forbes does a very interesting analysis that you might likely find helpful.

Hope this helps!

And as always, stay strong, stay civil, stay involved no matter what side you support!

Please don't let the thread closure divide us, people. Let's stick to the topic at hand and keep everything civil.

I would have at one time said the ending didn't fit Bioware at all, but then Dragon Age 2's ending wasn't the best either. But I kept telling myself that the ending was forced cause they were setting up the third game. ME3's ending was supposed to be the end of Shepard's story. And I guess it did "end", just not in the glorius fashion that it should have. The game was setting up the best ending ever... I'm still waiting on that.

See, I understand DA2 ending; it creates a perfect scenario for DA3. We kind of know what's going on, but at the same time it's a suspense and it makes me excited for DA3.

But ME3 should have brought more closure. The current ME3 ending leaves too many doors open, and it's almost like they are setting up a ME4 or something.

Exactly. ME3 is supposed to be the end of a trilogy, where's the closure (among other things... like logic)? I perceive DA2 as having more closure, because at the very least, we know that Hawke and friends eventually get the hell out of Kirkwall and possibly continue with their adventures. These things would lead into DA3.

There just wasn't anything at all. That's why people felt so empty after finishing ME3.

one of my friends and my brother finished the game at nearly the same time today, have spent the last hour trying to make them both feel alittle better, it was bad enough when i finished the game and was devastated/crushed beyond belief, but its another whole world of pain when i now had to go through watching them both go from extremely happy to crushed in 10 minutes

That's what I thought. Even if they make another Mass Effect game, without actually giving Shepard an ending that takes in consideration all of the different choices the player could have made, the Mass Effect universe ends for me as soon as Anderson dies. Well, it ends with the deleted dialogue between Shepard and Anderson before he dies, because that was amazing and I can't believe it was cut. :crying:

If they wanted to make a ME4, they should've just said "we're making a ME4 or something like that" instead of making a horrible ending just so they can pick it up in a couple of months/years.

If you are going to say that ME3 is the end of Shepard, give us some real ending where everything is explained. And if you want to continue the ME universe, you can come up with another problem and use the same universe.

Some defeatists seem to be scurrying out of the woodwork. I believe we should keep people aware but at the same time save our strength for April. We'll see how much Bioware really wants us to stay.

Remember, people: now is the time to let Bioware know that we won't be satisfied with anything but new, real, satisfying endings. By this point, they must know that they need to do something. Given the tone of Dr. Muzyka's statement, it may be that they're considering releasing content that tries to explain away the plot holes of the current endings and that gives a little more information about what happens to the crew and the galaxy.

I don't think that's good enough. I want new endings free of plot holes, free of Starchildren, and free of logical contradictions. I want new endings that provide actual closure. I want new endings that allow my Shep to live and reunite with his friends and love interest. I want new endings where Shep fails. I want new endings that leave the mass relays intact. Above all, I want endings that make my choices throughout the trilogy matter.

Anything less is not good enough, and we need to let Bioware know that now, when they are still deciding what to do.

So let them know in this thread. Let them know in the feedback thread. Let them know on Twitter. Let them know by e-mail (contact@bioware.com). Let them know by letter. And, if you haven't yet, vote in this poll.

Self-bump. (Last time, I promise)

I'm not throwing out wild accusations. I DO think they are responding in accordance with a Public relations strategy. Instead of closing the thread surely it would have been better to address the individual members who were throwing out false accusations and personal attacks rather then shutting down the whole thread. But you make a good point why take the risk in this thread.

Going to start a new PR thread unless there already is a new one.

So what's next? Which good topic will be the next one closed? What questions should not ask on BSN?

No, this step went to far.

I do believe there will be a proper conclusion, after reading many posts and watching vids like http://angryjoeshow....me3-ending-dlc/
I am starting to believe Bioware made current ending such a mess and full of holes on purpose, so they can make more money from future dlc.

You and a lot of other people, however bioware has done nothing to inspire confidence in this, and each day they go without making it public just diminishes it's credibility in my view.

EDIT: Look people who came to this thread because the PR thread was shut down, this thread has been going on for so long because we avoided the whole PR speculation thing for the most part so please don't come in here and expect to carry on the PR discussion as thought this WAS the PR thread. It's fine to come in here and talk about the ending but getting this monumental thread locked for the same reason isn't going to help.

This is what I'm most worried about, that all the horrible ending mess was just to do some kind of sequel years in the future going "Hey remember how we destroyed the entire galaxy by blowing up the mass relays? We did that just so we could set up the universe differently for a sequel trilogy to keep raking in the cash!"

They would have done better with the Dark Energy threat. You could greate a whole trilogie around how to stop it.

Then wire it all up in some site so you can check boxes of how yours ended and you get a finished document...

You know, if this all falls through, I would volunteer to help with that. I'd have time over the summer.

i'm also in. know my way around html, css, php & mysql.
and sometimes even graphic design :>

besides. i really, really want blue babies/adopted krogans.

Sign me up too. I'll handle outlining the depressing and some bittersweet endings (not very good with dialogue though). I've already got a couple dozen ideas.
