Multiple back up forums will split the group, I've nothing against them and thank those who provide them, but I've seen it too often in the past.

I tend to agree. BioWare is monitoring this thread - and i mean it in a good way - so i will stay here and try to be constructive and supportive and not go to another thread in which my voice is not heard.

On mass effect 4 we will discover that the god child who controls the reapers was controlled by an advanced civilization who created him to prevent chuck norris from destroying the universe.

I can't think of anything worse than them sticking us with an inconclusive ending just to set up future installments.  If you tell us it's going to be a trilogy keep it a trilogy.  I know people love the ME universe, and it's a veritable cash cow for the company, but I really don't want to see them beat this franchise like a dead horse.

The last thing we need is to see videogames take after movies in the way that they just don't know when to let a series die with dignity.  Just watch, 10 years from now we'll all be eagerly awaiting the release of Dragon Age 8: Wardens Gone Wild.  *shudder*

DA is a franchise and the characters aren't really connected, so...maybe we'll see Warden #75 fighting 

And I'm not saying Bioware actually did a bad ending just to keep the franchise alive and leave a door open for another game. I just felt like they could make ME4 because the ending was so bad. It felt like they were setting up for another big game rather than ending a trilogy.

 Just want to say that I don't like the idea of Bioware closing a thread because of the comments of a few individuals. Have zero knowledge on the matter but I'm quite curious to see what you guys think now, and what we'll learn in April...

The game is already built to handle the DLC and changes.  Being as all Xbox 360 title updates (The main game executable) are limited to 5mb (content eg: videos, maps, characters, audio are higher caps in the multiple gigabyte range).  Most companies only keep the main basis of their engines in here and usually launch other engines/processes on load.. Since the 360 is the most restrictive of the platforms most games are built around it as the standard.  The most time consuming portion of all this will be any new maps/gameplay/cutscenes.  The actual CODE to take into these changes and queue up the right cutscene could be written by one person in a morning.  The proper queuing, compositing, audio, voice acting, mixing, and of course the writing of the actual scenes, are where the most time will come from.

I suspect they're going to try to do as much as possible.  I suspect that's why it's being called an initiative.  They're going to try to get as much done as they can before their deadline and then move on to the other DLCs.  While this scares me that we might still end up with something we don't entirely like, it still means they're working on it at least.

Rather than rant here while I wait I'd much rather give them the benefit of the doubt.  Should they drop the ball horribly again I'll probably just stop buying from Bioware but I really doubt that'll happen, they know the stakes and they don't want ME3 to fade into obscurity due to fan hatred of the ending.

Edit: Note when I said written in a morning, that's assuming ONLY cutscenes in a very LIMITED story arc.

Guys can we lay off the neverending wishes for babies?  Im not holding this line for babies...and just focusing on one specific thing like that is not doing us any favors in the credibility department.

Oi oi oi, I didn't make that board. Someone else made it as a back up in case Bioware starts cracking down on us.

Good idea not to keep all of your eggs in one basket if you ask me. I think it's smart to have a second location that Bioware can't shut down just in case, a way for us to regroup if things go south...

I completely agree.  I think that's what worries me so much.  From what I hear, the outline of the trilogy was set from day one (although apparately that was all for naught), and if they use this one to set up for a brand new one that wasn't planned for just for the sake of keeping the franchise going...

Well call me little miss cynical, but I've seen this kind of thing completely ruin a franchise.
