But you know what really leaves a sour taste in my mouth right now? The fact that some people donated to Child's Play thinking they were paying for a new ending, followed up with questions to that effect, and now are ASKING FOR THEIR MONEY BACK.

How did you find out about this?

How many people are these?

Honestly, I think that if Bioware is going to remake anything, they should go all the way and make something epic and amazing. Doing a half a** job is what led them to this situation to begin with, so just adding a codex entry or a 2min video at the end to explain the current ending will actually only make things worse imo...

If they want to do it PERFECTLY they need to re do everything after the TIM's base. Like the Earth scene doesnt need much tweaking, BUT they NEED to show all our war assets in action. Like Asari commandos and Spectres coming in and taking out a bunch of enemies. Geth Primes, and armatures wiping out reaper troops. Krogan and Rachni troops decimating reapers. Arias troops doing what she and Hackett said theyd be donig. Etc etc.

Then they gotta fix that mess they called an ending, we all already know how we feel about that.

Then on the best case scenario they should show us with our LI. I wanna see Tali (no mask rendered face) on Rannoch with shepard at their beach house damnit. Oh and a worst case scenario where everything is spectacularlly F***$% of coarse.

You have to remember. There is only so much they can do. After this if there is still another campaign to change it then we WILL look like entitled whinners.

True, but Bioware has given us BDtS,Overlord, LotSB, Arrival. So even if they came up with a fantasic idea that took them months to create, they are fully capable of it. If they were just to give us an epilogue explaining why things are the way they are, it would be as if they didn't even try and that is not Bioware at all. They're either all in or nothing. That's how I have seen them be in the past.

Its just not like them to leave stuff in the situation it is now. That's why it would be surprising.

Not "that's all we get" in a "I don't  like it" way. More of a " I know you all are better than this, show us what Bioware usually does"

I understand completly. I loved all of those DLC's. I bought them all :o. I think if they do make a new ending, they will make it great. What I was saying was if they happen to mess up on this one. Which BTW I have complete faith in these guys. If we run another campaign, the odds are going to be even more against us.

The problem is that if Bioware followed our opinions in the first place, they wouldn't be standing where they are right now. I fear they will just come up with some piece of junk and tell us "here is your new ending, take it and leave us alone.."

This possibility haunts me more than any other.  I honestly think that it's started to dawn on them that, yes, there is something wrong with the product they put out, professional reviews not-withstanding.  I'm just hoping, praying, and making my voice heard that they actually fix it instead of handing us another second-rate ending to shut us up.

Hold the line.  Just... Hold the Line.

As you said, the idea that the endings is terrible is finally getting into their heads, but I also fear as I said they might try to get this entire affair out of the way as soon as possible and end up messing things even more with a low quality poorly finished DLC/patch. That would be the final nail on Bioware's coffin...

There's a discussion thread here.

Penny Arcade wrote a response here - doesn't say how many people asked but it was enough to cause concern.

Damn it all.

Thanks ^_^

For what it's worth, I enjoyed what was there in the game but it felt hollow. Says a lot when flipping through the forums with other similarly upset people is more satisfying than the game!

Off-topic, I hear they plan to tear down the monorail here in Sydney. Oh how my day gets better and better ...

Well... so far tonight we've got the charity shut down, story boards from Final Hours app saying the Crucible = a new galactic dark age, the Star Gazer in the notes being 10,000 years in the future(which proves the dark age idea, they still don't have space flight 10k years in the future) which is prevalent across all 3 endings, Weekes supposedly fake posting.

An exciting night!

Thanks, Rachel.

I'm not sure what to think.

On one hand, after all those fools thought they were donating towards a new ending(Read the fine print, people. It was going to show we're not who they think we are. You have eyes, make some damn use of them!), PA was probably right.

On the other hand, people are now going to associate those IDIOTS requesting 'refunds' with us. You can bet this and the closed thread is going to be used against us in the future.

Atleast the kids got most of the donations...

What a .... For what I was able to gather the Child's Play foundation was a way to help children and also to put an end to the bad stereotype us, as gamers, have.

But since we do fit this guy's (co-founder bte) type of stereotype, we cannot donate because our cause is not their cause.

I will shut up now, before I begin saying some truths..

I feel sorry for those people who were looking forward to their happy ending with their LI.

I did not really put that much thought into the ending before the build-up, you'll just get disappointed with the real story if you do that. (Case in point)

And the whole collapse of galactic society, I totally understand why the catalist would need to destroy the relays.

The Relays pushed all organics down a certain tech path as to make them vulnerable for the arrival of the reapers, so if the cycle would end indefinitely then that pattern would have to be removed, thus the relays need to be destroyed.

I don't get the Normandy crashing scenario, that was not necessary and how the hell did Garrus get back on the ship if he was storming the beam with me?

Honestly, a 2 minute video, or a text based epilogue (or even a combination of both) is what I believe they're leaning towards right now. I'm getting the sense that they want to get out of this as easily as possible, and that such a stunt would satisfy enough fans that this movement will die down.

That's EXACTLY what I thought when Muzyka said that they were going to "offer CLARITY" on the existing endings.

They're trying to get out of this as quickly and cheaply as possible.

I say, don't let them. Stay on them, the moment we give up is the moment they win.

I want what I payed for.

The reason I felt this way was also because of those exact words from Muzyka. Except unlike you I felt a bit dejected rather then motivated.

Though when a lot of the media span it into it being that Bioware has agreed to give the fans an ending they want, it puts a lot of pressure on Bioware to actually follow through with that. Which is nothing but a good thing. That's why I feel a bit better about it today.

@ Debi-Tage: Oh, it would totally be a cop-out. But that doesn't make me think they wouldn't try it any less. I don't think they'll do too much plot hole filling. They'd just explain whatever it is that everyone was doing afterwards.

@ Nilofeliu: It's entirely possible that doing so could turn this into an angry mob, but an angry mob wouldn't be coordinated or effective. It's important to be loud, but anything more can be spun by Bioware to dismiss us as... well everything that people like Colin Moriarty says we are.

Yeah, the whole thing of asking for their money back because they thought it was going toward an ending blows my mind. I believe them, but just can't believe people would be upset about donating to charity. Like hell, even if they thought that it was for an ending, your money is actually going to a better place. And I would hate for the over 4000 donaters to get lumped in with a few. Horrible if the media spins it that way, but honestly, I wouldn't be surprised.

About the charity, to me it started out of the fiasco caused by the guys trying to sell their space editions and using the charity as a backdrop for financial gain...right? Am I missing something? I would've thought was good for BW and the entire gaming community, not just the Retake peeps... :/

I disagree with this.. the only reason the Relays are bad is because they lead you to the real trap, the Citadel.. that's what they're designed to do. The Relays themselves, from my perspective, is not bad. Knowledge and technology from 1st world countries are not going to hinder the development of the 3rd world country they bring them into... it will uplift them. It is only the INTENTIONAL misuse of that technology that may hurt that 3rd world country.

I don't really see the need to remove them, we're already effected by their technology... that's not going to go away. Better to just use it and let us grow how we're going to grow from it's effects. I think that would be more interesting.
